1. On-line foreign object detection using double DD coils in an inductive wireless power transfer systemNataša Prosen, Miro Milanovič, Jure Domajnko, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper proposes an on-line method for foreign object detection in a double DD coil
system. The foreign object is detected by real-time measurement of the mutual inductance between
the transfer pads. Measurement of the mutual inductance between coils can be performed at the
start, during initialisation, or during the wireless power transfer. The coils in the double DD coil
structure can be used separately; one coil can be used for power transfer and the other can be used
for the mutual inductance measurement. The mutual inductance measurement is based on the
voltage measurement across the open circuit receiver coil. The measured value of mutual inductance
between the transmitter and the receiver pad can be used in a control algorithm and in a foreign
object detection algorithm. Additionally, a 2DDq coil structure can be used as a replacement for the
double DD coil structure, which increases the power transfer density. The DD coils in the double DD
coil structure can also be driven using two phase-shifted voltages, which enables better location and
detection of foreign objects. The method also helps to differentiate the mutual inductance change due
to the distance change from the mutual inductance change due to the presence of a foreign object. Ključne besede: WPT, double DD coil structure, mutual inductance measurement, coupling coefficient measurement, FOD, on-line measurement Objavljeno v DKUM: 01.04.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 2

2. 3D platform for coupling coefficient evaluation of an inductive power transfer systemsJure Domajnko, Miro Milanovič, Nataša Prosen, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper presents a custom-made, computer-connected, and controlled 3D platform that
enables the evaluation of the coupling coefficient between the transmitter and receiver coil parts of an
inductive wireless power transfer (IPT) system. The platform includes a computer application, a 3D
positioning mechanism, and an inductance measurement circuit. The positioning mechanism moves
the coils to the point in 3D space, and the inductance circuit measures the mutual inductance between
the transmitter and the receiver coil. The measured value can be used to calculate the coupling
coefficient between the transmitter and the receiver coil. The data are sent to the computer for further
visualisation. The transmitter and the receiver coil can be evaluated by measuring the coupling
coefficient between them in multiple points in space. Measurements performed with the platform
can be used in the design and evaluation phases of inductive wireless power transfer systems and to
extrapolate the polynomial function of the coupling coefficient in relation to the distance between
coils or their misalignment. Ključne besede: coupling coefficient, inductance measurement, IPT coil design Objavljeno v DKUM: 01.04.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 3

3. Evolution of domain-specific modeling language: an example of an industrial case study on an RT-sequencerTomaž Kos, Marjan Mernik, Tomaž Kosar, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Model-driven engineering is a well-established software development methodology that
uses models to develop applications where the end-users with visual elements model abstractions
from a specific domain. These models are based on domain-specific modeling language (DSML),
which is particular to the problem domain. During DSML use, new ideas emerge and DSMLs evolve.
However, reports on DSML evolution are rare. This study presents a new DSML called RT-Sequencer
that evolved from our DSML Sequencer to support, in addition to the Data Acquisition domain,
also a new domain—Real-Time Control (RTC) systems. The process of defining models with a new
language RT-Sequencer has changed in a way that new end-users were introduced—advanced endusers, which use general-purpose language (GPL) and advanced programming concepts to define
modeling environments for the RT-Sequencer end-users. More specifically, an industrial experience
with the RT-Sequencer is presented, where DSML was opened for extension so that a GPL code
could be inserted into the model to create new visual blocks for the end-user, and the possibility to
adapt and optimize the execution code for a particular task. Our experience shows the specific case
of DSML evolution supporting another problem domain, and the implementation effort needed to
extend domain-specific modeling language with GPL support. Ključne besede: model-driven engineering, domain-specific modeling languages, measurement systems, Real-Time Control systems, data acquisition, language evolution, experience report Objavljeno v DKUM: 27.03.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 2

4. The gap between the admitted and the measured technical debt: an empirical studyLuka Pavlič, Tilen Hliš, Marjan Heričko, Tina Beranič, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: : Technical debt is a well understood and used concept in IT development. The metaphor,
rooted in the financial world, captures the amount of work that development teams owe to a product.
Every time developers take a shortcut within development, the technical debt accumulates. Technical
debt identification can be accomplished via manual reporting on the technical debt items, which
is called self-admitted technical debt. Several specialised methods and tools have also emerged
that promise to measure the technical debt. Based on experience in the community, the impression
emerged that the measured technical debt is of a significantly different amount than the self-admitted
debt. In this context, we decided to perform empirical research on the possible gap between the two.
We investigated 14 production-grade software products while determining the amount of accumulated technical debt via (a) a self-admitting procedure and (b) measuring the debt. The outcomes
show clearly the significant difference in the technical debt reported by the two methods. We urge
development and quality-assurance teams not to rely on technical debt measurement alone. The tools
demonstrated their strength in identifying low-level code technical debt items that violate a set of
predefined rules. However, developers should have additional insight into violations, based on the
interconnected source code and its relation to the domain and higher-level design decisions. Ključne besede: technical debt identification, self-admitted technical debt, technical debt measurement, difference comparison Objavljeno v DKUM: 27.03.2025; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 3

5. Application and comparison of non-contact vibration monitoring methods for concrete railway sleepersBoštjan Kovačič, Sebastian Toplak, Rinaldo Paar, Samo Lubej, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper describes the non-contact vibration monitoring of prestressed reinforced concrete railway sleepers. The monitoring was carried out using physical measuring equipment consisting of a seismograph and geophones, a robotic total station (RTS) and scanning laser Doppler vibrometry (SLDV) equipment. Measurements of the dynamic response of sleepers to the dynamic loading induced by the running of train sets provides data that give an insight into the actual state of the sleeper structure at the moment when it is most stressed. The main objective of the study was to identify the most appropriate form of monitoring to monitor events related to the occurrence of cracks in the rail sill, which can also be caused by the impact of vibration. As is well-known, monitoring the dynamic response of railway sleepers is very important for the sustainable management and maintenance of railway lines. The vibration analysis was carried out in the field on the Ormož–Ptuj section of the railway line, in Velika Nedelja and in the laboratory of the UM FGPA, where the vibration was simulated using a hydraulic kit with a static and pulsed force of 100 kN. Several cycles of measurement were carried out and the results were compared with the results of the field monitoring. The vibration parameters measured for the concrete sleepers are necessary to develop a realistic dynamic model of the railway line, which will be able to predict its response to impact loads and the possible occurrence of damage, as has recently been observed for concrete sleepers in several European Union countries. 6. Evaluation of measurement uncertainty contributions in ring gauge calibrationBojan Ačko, Jasna Tompa, Rok Klobučar, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Measurements are of paramount importance in industry and other areas of importance to society. They are used to determine the characteristics of processes and products, to control and regulate processes, to decide on the acceptable quality of products, etc. To ensure the quality of measurements, we have to calibrate measuring devices regularly. In our laboratory – the holder of the national length standard, we mainly calibrate high-precision standards from accredited laboratories. As the demands on the accuracy of measurements are constantly increasing, we are also forced to continuously improve the accuracy of our calibration procedures. This article presents the development of methods for calibrating the diameter of ring gauges, which represent an important standard for calibrating measuring instruments for measuring internal dimensions. The main objective of this development is to reduce the measurement uncertainty based on a scientific investigation of all influencing parameters. The presented study focuses in particular on the control and reduction of the influence of geometric anomalies of the calibrated rings on the measurement uncertainty during calibration. 7. A real-world information security performance assessment using a multidimensional socio-technical approachKaja Prislan Mihelič, Anže Mihelič, Igor Bernik, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Measuring the performance of information security is an essential part of the information security management system within organisations. Studies in the past mainly focused on establishing qualitative measurement approaches. Since these can lead to ambiguous conclusions, quantitative metrics are being increasingly proposed as a useful alternative. Nevertheless, the literature on quantitative approaches remains scarce. Thus, studies on the evaluation of information security performance are challenging, especially since many approaches are not tested in organisational settings. The paper aims to validate the model used for evaluating the performance of information security management system through a multidimensional socio-technical approach, in a real-world settings among medium-sized enterprises in Slovenia. The results indicate that information security is strategically defined and compliant, however, measures are primarily implemented at technical and operational levels, while its strategic management remains underdeveloped. We found that the biggest issues are related to information resources and risk management, where information security measurement-related activities proved to be particularly problematic. Even though enterprises do possess certain information security capabilities and are aware of the importance of information security, their current practices make it difficult for them to keep up with the fast-paced technological and security trends. 8. Simulating and verifying a 2D/3D laser line sensor measurement algorithm on CAD models and real objectsRok Belšak, Janez Gotlih, Timi Karner, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The increasing adoption of 2D/3D laser line sensors in industrial and research applications necessitates accurate and efficient simulation tools for tasks such as surface inspection, dimensional verification, and quality control. This paper presents a novel algorithm developed in MATLAB for simulating the measurements of any 2D/3D laser line sensor on STL CAD models. The algorithm uses a modified fast-ray triangular intersection method, addressing challenges such as overlapping triangles in assembly models and incorporating sensor resolution to ensure realistic simulations. Quantitative analysis shows a significant reduction in computation time, enhancing the practical utility of the algorithm. The simulation results exhibit a mean deviation of 0.42 mm when compared to real-world measurements. Notably, the algorithm effectively handles complex geometric features, such as holes and grooves, and offers flexibility in generating point cloud data in both local and global coordinate systems. This work not only reduces the need for physical prototyping, thereby contributing to sustainability, but also supports AI training by generating accurate synthetic data. Future work should aim to further optimize the simulation speed and explore noise modeling to enhance the realism of simulated measurements. 9. Health related QoL in celiac disease patients in SloveniaEva Turk, Dušanka Mičetić-Turk, Maja Šikić Pogačar, Alojz Tapajner, Veljko Vlaisavljević, Valentina Prevolnik Rupel, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background: Measurements of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among celiac disease patients using a validated questionnaire have been lacking in Slovenia. This study aims to measure HRQoL in celiac disease (CD) patients using EQ-5D internationally validated questionnaire and comparing it to the HRQoL of the general population.
Methods: In this cross sectional analysis all of the approximately 2000 members of the Slovenian Celiac Society were invited to take part. We used a 3 step approach for recruitment and data collection. HRQoL was evaluated through the EuroQoL EQ-5D-5L instrument (Slovenian version) and analysed using the ordinal logistic regression.
Results: Out of 321 patients who gave their consent, 247 celiac patients were included in the study (77%). 68% of the participants were female and 53% of them lived in an urban setting. Most patients originated from North-East Slovenia, whereas approximately 30% of patients came from other Slovenian regions. The EQ-5D respondents’ self-reported health status at the time of the study show that most patients have slight or no problems when living with CD. The duration of the gluten-free diet, academic education and rare (< 1 × year) doctor visits affect EQ-5D in a positive way. On the other hand, higher age and chronic rheumatic disease were negatively associated with EQ-5D also when compared to the general population.
Conclusion: This is the first Slovenian study to measure the HRQoL of Slovenian CD patients, using an internationally validated questionnaire. The results of our study show that HRQoL is slightly impaired among Slovenian patients with CD. Clinical characteristics are better determinants of their HRQoL than socio-demographic factors. Greater awareness of the impact of CD on patients’ HRQoL would improve the holistic management of CD patients. 10. Developing an integrated framework for supplier evaluation based on relevant attributes and performance measuresMohsen Cheshmberah, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Supplier evaluation and selection is essential to any organization, and planning an effective and comprehensive approach to that end seems inevitable. Meanwhile, determining the requisite criteria for evaluating and selecting suppliers is probably one of the most important steps to be taken towards developing an evaluation and selection model in the organization. In this article, first a review of the literature on the criteria and the field of supplier evaluation and selection are provided. These criteria are then placed into proper categories. In order to formulate a supplier evaluation and selection framework for the manufacturing organization under study, the implemented categorization is applied where a list of fifteen attributes and performance criteria is created; where upon it is secured with the help of a designated panel (project team). These features are then screened using Lawshe's method the "social attribute" is removed from the list of fifteen. The remaining 14 other criteria are configured within the SEAP (Suppliers Evaluation based on Attributes and Performances) framework. The framework follows the objective of continually evaluating suppliers, both potential and actual ones through incorporating their performances into their qualification ratings. Based on the proposed framework, suppliers are evaluated on the basis of two types of criteria, - feature (attribute) and performance.
