Honey, there´s something on my mind --- : adverse consequences of negative and positive work rumination on attention to the partner, and the advantage of talking about it
Julia Schoellbauer, Sara Tement, Christian Korunka, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In the contemporary 24/7 working society, the separation of work and private life is increasingly turning into an unrealizable ideal. Ruminating about work outside the work context lets work spill over into private lives and afects the dynamics of workers’ private relationships. Although negative work rumination was linked to couples’ reduced relationship satisfaction, little is known about the mechanism of action and the impact of positive work rumination. Drawing on the load theory of selective attention, we hypothesize that both negative and positive work rumination occupy attentional resources and thus reduce workers’ attention to the partner on the same day. Lower levels of attention to the partner, in turn, should relate to lower levels of both partners’relationship satisfaction. However, sharing the work-related thoughts with the partner might support the resolution of the work issue the worker is ruminating about, which releases attentional resources and thus bufers the negative association between rumination and attention to the partner. We conducted a daily diary study and the fndings based on 579 daily dyadic observations from 42 dualearner couples support the proposed cognitive spillover-crossover mechanism and the bufer mechanism of thought-sharing. We conclude that negative and positive work rumination takes up scarce attentional resources and thus jeopardizes relationship quality. However, sharing thoughts with one’s partner seems to be a useful strategy for couples to maintain or even increase their relationship satisfaction in the light of work rumination.

Development and validation of the Work-home-integration questionnaire (WHIQ)
Andrea Noja, Bettina Kubicek, Nejc Plohl, Sara Tement, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The boundaries between work and private life are gradually blurring. More and more employees are involved in work during leisure time through cognitions, emotions or behaviours, in both negative and positive ways. This so-called work-home integration (WHI) can, on the one hand, hampers the necessary recovery from work and result in strain but, on the other hand, also restores resources and result in beneficial outcomes. In order to enhance our understanding of WHI and capture all its different forms, we suggest a new conceptualisation and measure of WHI. We therefore developed and validated the Work-Home Integration Questionnaire (WHIQ) in English, German and Slovene simultaneously using two cross-sectional studies (Study 1: N = 848; Study 2: N = 555) and a two-wave longitudinal study with a time lag of 1 month (Study 3: N = 379). Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed a three-factor structure with (1) negative cognitive-affective involvement, (2) positive cognitive-affective involvement and (3) behavioural involvement. Moreover, the WHIQ showed measurement invariance across the three languages and the results provide evidence for convergent, discriminant and incremental validity. Overall, the WHIQ is a reliable, valid and short measure to assess the extent to which employees are involved in work during leisure time.

Family history tools for primary care : a systematic review
Špela Miroševič, Zalika Klemenc-Ketiš, Borut Peterlin, 2022, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: Background: Many medical family history (FH) tools are available for various settings. Although FH tools can be a powerful health screening tool in primary care (PC), they are currently underused. Objectives: This review explores the FH tools currently available for PC and evaluates their clinical performance. Methods: Five databases were systematically searched until May 2021. Identified tools were evaluated on the following criteria: time-to-complete, integration with electronic health record (EMR) systems, patient administration, risk-assessment ability, evidence-based management recommendations, analytical and clinical validity and clinical utility. Results: We identified 26 PC FH tools. Analytical and clinical validity was poorly reported and agreement between FH and gold standard was commonly inadequately reported and assessed. Sensitivity was acceptable; specificity was found in half of the reviewed tools to be poor. Most reviewed tools showed a capacity to successfully identify individuals with increased risk of disease (6.2-84.6% of high and/or moderate or increased risk individuals). Conclusion: Despite the potential of FH tools to improve risk stratification of patients in PC, clinical performance of current tools remains limited as well as their integration in EMR systems. Twenty-one FH tools are designed to be self-administered by patients.

Internacionalizacija kot strategija rasti - študija primera podjetja v enološki dejavnosti
Lucija Mukenauer, 2021, magistrsko delo

Poslovno okolje smo analizirali s pomočjo treh modelov. To so: Porterjev model, PEST analiza in SWOT analiza. Zaradi tega so vstopne ovire – carine itd. previsoke. Ko bo ta ovira rešena, bo Avstralija zelo primeren trg za mednarodno sodelovanje, saj so Avstralci veliki pivci in dobri poznavalci vin. Produkti podjetja so visoke kakovosti. To lahko pojasnimo z dosegom velikega števila mednarodnih nagrad na ocenjevanjih vin. Tudi na najbolj priznanem in prestižnem vinskem ocenjevanju v Londonu so prejeli število nagrad.

The psychodynamic processes related to the involvement in peacekeeping missions : experiences of Slovenian police officers
Branko Lobnikar, Špela Vesel, Emanuel Banutai, 2011, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to review the decade of Slovenian police officer’s experiences with international peacekeeping operations. The main goal of police officers, involved in these missions, is to prevent conflicts between opposite sites, to implement basic agreements, protect humanitarian missions and reinforce policing operations in the conflict area. The purpose of the paper is to acknowledge the lessons learned while planning and implementing further cooperation of Slovenian police officers in peacekeeping (police) operations. The main purpose of the paper is to analyze the consequences of deployment to peacekeeping missions for police officers as well as their family members (partners and children) by analyzing the psychodynamic processes related to the involvement in peacekeeping missions. Design/Methods/Approach: The paper is based on the review of literature. The empirical part of the paper presents the results of the research on a small sample of police officers (n = 36) and their family members (n = 25 partners + 35 children). Findings: Police peacekeepers should be well prepared for different stress situations; they are exposed to various stress factors before, during, and after serving in a mission. That is why training and reintegration programmes are of great importance. We establish that respondents assess that deployment to a peacekeeping mission has a positive and negative impact on the relationships between family members. As many as ¾ of mission members believe deployment can have a positive impact above all in the sense of strengthening the emotional ties between partners, increased mutual trust and strengthening of the partnership. For them, deployment to a peacekeeping mission is a challenge and personal experience, which can change the way they see the world. 2/3 of partners state similar positive impacts and they also believe that there is more trust between the partners after the experience with the peacekeeping mission, they treasure their time together and thus represent bigger support for each other in difficult times. As the most common problem, respondents perceived marital problems and the occurrence of negative feelings among family members (anger, avoidance, judgment ...). A large share of respondents stressed problems with children. 43.8% of respondents also named depression as a problem. Research limitations/implications: The findings are limited to the Slovenian police and their police officer’s experiences, serving in various police peacekeeping missions and their family members. Practical implications: Based on lessons learned this paper complements the results of different surveys of the researched topic. The results cannot be completely generalized, although some findings could also be useful to similar police organizations in Europe. Originality/Value: This paper addresses and explores different small scale surveys, conducted on sampled Slovenian police officers who served in peacekeeping missions and their family members. Findings could be of interest for the general as well as expert audience.

Three Languages in Early Childhood
Sabina Kramer, 2019, magistrsko delo

Opis: Moving all over the world can result in mixed marriages and households. Parents with different cultural and linguistic backgrounds are faced with the dilemma of how raising their children in a multilingual environment. The aim of this work is to provide the reader with insight into a complex situation of multilingual upbringing. This paper deals with the development of children’s trilingualism, specifically with the children growing up with two languages from birth and one additional language soon afterwards. The results of the family case study show that raising children with three languages requires organisation and consistency. Moreover, the children's language proficiency in all three languages is connected to the amount of exposure to each language. The English linguistic competence is lower in comparison to Slovene and Spanish; this is attributed to the fact that the children had smaller exposure to English language. Furthermore, all three research subjects have been codeswitching; the oldest research subject did not codeswitch in the earlier language production but after being exposed to three languages for a longer period of time. On the other hand, the younger research subjects who were exposed to English at a much earlier age, codeswitched more in the earlier English language production. The children codeswitched in all three languages; however, at present, most codeswitches are in Slovenian and English.

The use of econometric methods in family farm succession studies
Zarja Bohak, Andreja Borec, 2009, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: Farm succession is an important issue for any family farm, for the future structure of farming and for rural policy makers. This is the process whereby the skills, traditions and capital of farming are passed from one generation to the next. Scientists realized the importance of scientific investigation of succession on family farms no more than thirty or forty years ago, as the earliest studies bear dates from 1968 on (see i.e. Nalson 1968). There are many different scientific methods used to process surveys' data or to represent the process of farm succession; this paper offers a review of foreign and Slovene studies from the last 15 years, in which econometric methods are used to describe and analyse the family farm succession process.

The analysis of barriers in succession processes of family business with the use of grey incidence analysis (Polish Perspective)
Ewa Więcek-Janka, Rafał Mierzwiak, Joanna Kijewska, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The article presents results of research on the identification and evaluation of barriers faced by successors in family businesses during the first process of succession. The analysis of empirical material used grey systems theory, which was considered as an equivalent for the analysis of small samples and qualitative research. While conducting the literature review and empirical study, the authors concentrated on (a) the identification of barriers in the development of family firms and (b) eliciting the perspective of the new generation of owners in family firms entering the succession process through an empirical analysis of the assessed level of risk in relationships with family and business.
