Vasja Roblek, Vlado Dimovski, Kristjan Jovanov Oblak, Maja Meško, Judita Peterlin, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Purpose This study aims to apply the Delphi method to explore the possibilities for implementing agility management concepts in Slovenian health-care organisations. Design/methodology/approach The research is based on a qualitative Delphi study encompassing 15 employees in different Slovenian health-care organisations. Findings Slovenian health-care organisations need to be more agile currently. For this reason, it is necessary to begin with organisational changes and organisational learning concepts to educate employees about the meaning and content of agile processes. It is essential to ensure that accepting employee mistakes and offering help to employees becomes normal practice, and it is necessary to ensure the greater trust of the management towards the employees. Originality/value The research empowers health-care professionals with new management and leadership concepts, such as agile management, sustainable leadership and leadership development methods in health care.

Artificial-intelligence-supported reduction of employees’ workload to increase the company’s performance in today’s VUCA environment
Maja Rožman, Dijana Oreški, Polona Tominc, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This paper aims to develop a multidimensional model of AI-supported employee workload reduction to increase company performance in today's VUCA environment. Multidimensional constructs of the model include several aspects of artificial intelligence related to human resource management: AI-supported organizational culture, AI-supported leadership, AI-supported appropriate training and development of employees, employees' perceived reduction of their workload by AI, employee engagement, and company's performance. The main survey involved 317 medium-sized and large Slovenian companies. Structural equation modeling was used to test the hypotheses. The results show that three multidimensional constructs (AI-supported organizational culture, AI-supported leadership, and AI-supported appropriate training and development of employees) have a statistically significant positive effect on employees' perceived reduction of their workload by AI. In addition, employees' perceived reduced workload by AI has a statistically significant positive effect on employee engagement. The results show that employee engagement has a statistically significant positive effect on company performance. The concept of engagement is based on the fact that the development and growth of the company cannot be achieved by increasing the number of employees or by adding capital; the added value comes primarily from increased productivity, which is a result of the innovative ability of employees and their work engagement, which improve the company's performance. The results will significantly contribute to creating new views in the field of artificial intelligence and adopting important decisions in creating working conditions for employees in today's rapidly changing work environment.

A conceptual model of developing an agile work environment
Katja Crnogaj, Polona Tominc, Maja Rožman, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This study has highlighted the need for an agile work environment to enhance companies’ performance, growth, and sustainability. In today’s rapidly changing business world, the goal of every individual and team in a company should be to deliver value to customers. The paper highlights theoretical and empirical evidence on the importance of an agile work environment and its positive effect on company performance. In addition, the paper provides insights into the important concept of developing an agile work environment and offers a conceptual model with five selected constructs, which can be leveraged to build an agile mindset in companies. Moving away from traditional leadership models, this paper highlights the significant role that agile leadership can play in enhancing effectiveness and performance, even in long-established large companies. The empirical research was based on 468 randomly selected medium and large Slovenian companies. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to test the model. The empirical results show that changing and adaptive agile companies are the ones that thrive more easily in an environment that is unpredictable and characterized by rapid change.

Dimensions of decision-making process quality and company performance : a study of top managers in Slovenia
Damjan Grušovnik, Alenka Kavkler, Duško Uršič, 2017, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This paper investigates the relationship between the dimensions of the decision-making process quality and company performance of top managers’ in Slovenia. We found out that companies whose managers exhibit an above-average dimension of openness of spirit in the quality of the decision making process, on average, have a higher stance on foreign markets as companies in which managers show a below-average open spirit. For the managers who work in companies that are present in foreign markets, we could confirm that there is a low/weak correlation between the dimension of effort of the decision-making process quality and the number of employees in a company.

The impact of management control systems - strategy interaction on performance management : a case study
Darja Peljhan, Metka Tekavčič, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: We study the interaction between management control systems and strategy its impact on organisational performance considering the way in which multiple aspects of control systems and dimensions of context combine in a variety of ways to enhance performance. Our purpose is to investigate the relationship among management control systems, strategy and organisational performance in a particular company. The contribution of this study is that it upgrades the existing theory in that it does not only establish a relationship between strategy and management control systems, but also considers how this relationships impacts on organisational performance. The study shows that the combination of performance-driven behaviour and regular use of management control systems leads to improved results. The second contribution of the study is that it incorporates a wider range of controls, including informal controls as being equally important as formal controls, to provide a more comprehensive analysis, as opposed to the majority of prior studies focusing on a more limited range of controls. In this way, this paper contributes to the literature in terms of examination of the broader components of management control systems than was previously done.

The analysis of barriers in succession processes of family business with the use of grey incidence analysis (Polish Perspective)
Ewa Więcek-Janka, Rafał Mierzwiak, Joanna Kijewska, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The article presents results of research on the identification and evaluation of barriers faced by successors in family businesses during the first process of succession. The analysis of empirical material used grey systems theory, which was considered as an equivalent for the analysis of small samples and qualitative research. While conducting the literature review and empirical study, the authors concentrated on (a) the identification of barriers in the development of family firms and (b) eliciting the perspective of the new generation of owners in family firms entering the succession process through an empirical analysis of the assessed level of risk in relationships with family and business.

Organising aspects of the levels added organisation (LAO)
Duško Uršič, Samo Lubej, 2002, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: How to achieve a more efficient, more successful, and above all more competitive organization in the given environment and equal spare time in everything? One of responses is evidently hidden in the levels added organisation concept, which has already proved its advantages in some domains practice, and now we also try to define and explain them from the organisational and scientific aspect. As briefly presented in this paper, the nucleus is hidden in the evolutionary development of the organisation that adopts innovations, then tests and evaluates them, combines and upgrades them, and consequently it efficiently resolves difficulties of existent organisational concepts.

Can a company raise business success by using certain marketing communication activities?
Damijan Mumel, Nina Hočevar, Boris Snoj, 2007, drugi znanstveni članki

Opis: Companies use different marketing communication activities in order to communicate with their environment. Their decisions to use a specific activity are often the result of past experiences, habits or certain influences. Measurements related to the efficiency of their communication method, as well as the analysis concerning the effect of using a specific kind of marketing communication activity on different business success determinants are usually neglected. In this article, authors provide an analysis of a correlation between the use of a specific marketing communication activity and 13 different business success variables. Based on the research, it could be concluded that the net business result for the accounting period can be influenced by using printed advertisements in newspapers, radio commercials, press conferences, newsletters and sponsorship. Net return on assets showed a positive correlation with printed advertisements in newspapers and press conferences. Printed advertisements in newspapers and radio commercials have proved to influence net sales and, last but not least, authors discovered that the return on equity can be influenced by organizing press conferences and, by using leaflets, companies can expect to raise the net sales growth index.

The influential knowledge factors of companies' performance in Slovenia
Katja Rašič, Matjaž Mulej, Vesna Čančer, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Background: Knowledge plays a crucial role in supporting the European Union model based on economic growth, social responsibility, and sustainable development. To improve companies’ performance, one must reflect on new forms of knowledge and develop new indicators to measure them. Objectives: The goal of the paper is to investigate the impact of the selected factors of knowledge on companies’ performance in Slovenia. Methods/Approach: A questionnaire was created and sent to small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovenia. The principle axis factoring method was used to identify the factors of knowledge and of companies’ performance, and a regression analysis was conducted to determine the influence of the selected knowledge factors on companies’ performance. Results: The establishment of scientists’ collaboration with companies has a positive impact on companies’ performance, but the obstacles to the establishment of scientists’ collaboration with companies do not have any impact. Conclusions: The results could be useful for governments and companies in the adoption of measures aimed at strengthening scientists’ collaboration with companies. Further research can be oriented toward the common synergy index (e.g., the knowledge triangle).
