1. An innovative approach for improving information exchange between palliative care providers in Slovenian primary health : a qualitative analysis of testing a new toolErika Zelko, Jožica Ramšak-Pajk, Nevenka Krčevski-Škvarč, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background: Interprofessional collaboration is an important part of palliative care. Effective communication and information exchange is essential for a high quality of care. The aim of this study was to test the effectiveness of a new tool for exchanging information between professionals in palliative care on primary healthcare level. Methods: With suggestions from the experts regarding palliative care needs in an interprofessional team from the Delphi study and community nurses from the field, we developed a paper version of the tool. The paper version was tested in a pilot phase, and subsequently, we conducted ten semi-structured interviews with the users of the new tool to test its feasibility and usability. The data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis, leading to improvement and development of the digital version of the new tool. Results: After completing the pilot phase of the research, we identified the following four categories: a systematic tool for more consistent treatment and better communication during the patient’s visit; training and empowerment; quality, safety and digitalization; these categories were later included in the final version of the digital communication tool. Conclusion: Effective palliative care requires a good exchange of information and communication between all care professionals who work with the patient. Effective communication contributes to making patients and their relatives feel safe in their home environment and allows patients to stay in their homes even as their disease progresses. The systematical new tool was assessed as useful to improve interdisciplinary cooperation and prepared in a digital version. Further research after the long-term use of the developed digital tool in everyday work might confirm its sustaining importance. 2. Attractiveness of collaborative platforms for sustainable e-learning in business studiesSimona Sternad Zabukovšek, Zdenko Deželak, Silvia Parusheva, Samo Bobek, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: E-learning platforms have become more and more complex. Their functionality included in learning management systems is extended with collaborative platforms, which allow better communication, group collaboration, and face-to-face lectures. Universities are facing the challenge of advanced use of these platforms to fulfil sustainable learning goals. Better usability and attractiveness became essential in successful e-learning platforms, especially due to the more intensive interactivity expected from students. In the study, we researched the user experience of students who have used Moodle, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet. User experience is, in most cases, connected with a person’s perception, person’s feelings, and satisfaction with the platform used. Data were collected using a standard UEQ questionnaire. With this research, we examined whether user experience factors: perceived efficiency, perceived perspicuity, perceived dependability, perceived stimulation, and perceived novelty affect perceived attractiveness, which is an important factor in the sustainability of e-learning tools. The collected data were processed using SmartPLS. The research study showed that all studied factors have a statistically significant impact on perceived attractiveness. Factor perceived stimulation has the strongest statistically significant impact on the perceived attractiveness of e-learning platforms, followed by perceived efficiency, perceived perspicuity, perceived novelty, and perceived dependability. 3. The role of rhetoric in teacher virtual exchangesMaja Kerneža, Metka Kordigel Aberšek, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Educators’ rhetorical skills are pivotal in virtual collaboration between teachers and parents, enhancing communication clarity and overcoming cultural barriers, thereby enriching educational experience and fostering intercultural understanding. A review of scientific databases such as Academic Search Complete, ERIC, SCOPUS, and Web of Science, was conducted to identify peer-reviewed articles from 2018 onwards that explore the role of rhetoric in teacher virtual exchanges. Articles were analysed for themes, findings, biases, and research gaps. A notable finding is the lack of research on rhetoric in virtual teacher exchanges, despite its potential to overcome cultural barriers and enhance collaboration. The study reveals that effective rhetorical techniques can improve clarity, persuasiveness, and intercultural understanding in virtual exchanges, indicating a need for more research and educational programs in this area. Furthermore, the study extends to virtual communication between teachers and parents, especially with non-native speakers or those with limited proficiency in the official language. This highlights the need for teachers to use sophisticated rhetorical strategies in diverse linguistic situations to improve understanding and involvement. In summary, the research underscores the significant impact of rhetorical skills in virtual teacher exchanges, with broader implications for global collaboration and intercultural understanding in the educational sphere. 5. LiDAR-Based Maintenance of a Safe Distance between a Human and a Robot ArmDavid Podgorelec, Suzana Uran, Andrej Nerat, Božidar Bratina, Sašo Pečnik, Marjan Dimec, Franc Žaberl, Borut Žalik, Riko Šafarič, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper focuses on a comprehensive study of penal policy in Slovenia in the last 70 years, providing an analysis of statistical data on crime, conviction, and prison populations. After a sharp political and penal repression in the first years after World War II, penal and prison policy began paving the way to a unique "welfare sanction system", grounded in ideas of prisoners' treatment. After democratic reforms in the early 1990s, the criminal legislation became harsher, but Slovenia managed to avoid the general punitive trends characterized by the era of penal state and culture of control. The authoritarian socialist regime at its final stage had supported the humanization of the penal system, and this trend continued in the first years of the democratic reforms in the 1990s, but it lost its momentum after 2000. In the following two decades, Slovenia experienced a continuous harshening of criminal law and sanctions on the one hand and an increasing prison population rate on the other. From 2014 onwards, however, there was a decrease in all segments of penal statistics. The findings of the study emphasize the exceptionalism of Slovenian penal policy, characterized by penal moderation, which is the product of the specific local historical, political, economic, and normative developments. 6. Customising tourism experiences with use of advanced technologies, example of collaboration impact token and digital online tourist identityUrška Starc Peceny, Tomi Ilijaš, 2021, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci Opis: Nowadays, data on tourist profiles are created by large platforms that exchange and trade the collected data with each other without sharing it with service providers (hotels, restaurants, etc.). Providers are thus increasingly becoming mere "executors" and cannot devote themselves to the guest as they once did. Using the example of Collaboration Impact Token and Digital Online Tourist Identity, the article suggests the development of a sys-tem with use of key enabling technologies from Industry 4.0 that will offer guests a personalised service, reward them for positive behavior if they are contributing to the positive effects of tourism and redirect them on less burdened areas with the aim to offer a significantly better tourist experience and the development of more balanced sustainable development. 7. Collaboration with immigrant parents in early childhood education in Slovenia : how important are environmental conditions and skills of teachers?Marta Licardo, Lais Oliveira Leite, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The purpose of this study is to analyse how important are specific environmental conditions and skills of early childhood education (ECE) teachers as predictors of collaboration with immigrant parents. The study included 348 ECE teachers in Slovenia. The results revealed that environmental conditions (e.g., gender, level of education, job position, educational environment support) are important predictors of collaboration with immigrant parents. Male teachers, teachers whose job position is ECE teacher rather than assistant teacher, and teachers who have higher levels of education reported a significantly better collaboration with immigrant parents than female teachers and teachers with lower educational levels. Regarding ECE teacher skills, results revealed that interpersonal and professional skills (e.g., positive values, positive attitudes towards teaching immigrant children and perceived immigrant child misbehaviour) are important predictors of reported collaboration with immigrant parents in ECE. The results are of practical significance for ECE teachers, immigrant parents and ECE management staff. 8. A framework for managing future supply chain trends: utilization of lean, agile and leagile strategiesWaleed Rashad, 2020, doktorska disertacija Opis: The supply chain has become very essential to run any business nowadays. Throughout the history of business, the professionals have been trying always to find out the best practice, and as long as the business concept is evolved over time, the practice, methodologies and techniques of doing the business also have been evolved.
This evolvement led to the concept of supply chain initially and then later it became essential to have strategy for supply chain. The evolvement of the markets, globalization, and new technologies became very decisive subjects for building any supply chain and developing its strategy, but there are many other events that may take place which could enforce the supply chain decision makers to change the current approach of running their business.
The dynamic business environment and the possible future trends of the global markets represent a real challenge for development of appropriate supply chain strategies, like lean, agility, and leagility. Therefore, it is very important to assess how different possible strategies are suitable for the future changes of the markets? This is to enable the supply chain to be prepared with adequate strategies for different future scenarios.
To achieve this aim of preparing the supply chains for the future with adequate strategies, a deep study is done to research lean, agility and leagility, explaining the similarities and differences of these concepts. These strategies are dealing with the most important factors in supply chains; the time and the cost, what is the key reason for selecting these particular strategies lies in the fact, that they are concerned with improving the effectiveness and responsiveness in the supply chain and this is extremely important for the future.
We continued study of these strategies by development of three possible future scenarios for energy scarcity, new international monetary system, and wars. The reason of developing these particular scenarios is because they are concerned with the most important political and economic events which could happen and affect the supply chains in the future (EY, 2013; Cook, 2006; Sokov, 2015). These scenarios are established to anticipate the possible challenges which could face the supply chain strategies in the future and to evaluate the suitability of supply chain strategies for such future scenarios.
A survey of 150 supply chain professionals, who are working currently in the field of supply chain management, is done in two phases. The first phase is focusing on recognition of the opinions of surveyed supply chain professionals towards the supply chain strategies and their utilization. Based on the theoretical knowledge of the academic literature reviewed in this research, proposed scenarios, and the feedback of professionals in the survey, it was evident that supply chains’ managers need adequate framework, which will support improvement of current and future supply chain management.
Therefore, the grounded theory methodology is used to create a new conceptual framework. The core idea of the proposed framework is to improve the global sourcing practice, which consequently will enable improving the management of supply chains according to the predicted scenarios.
A second phase of survey is conducted to present the proposed framework to the supply chain professionals for evaluation. The proposed framework adds value to the global sourcing process, which enhancing the supply chain collaboration and helps to support the selected supply chain strategies for consideration – i.e., lean, agility, and leagility, to work better in the future.
The proposed framework represents scientific contribution to the supply chain strategies utilization in practice. The results of this contribution are obviously to fill the gap highlighted by the supply chain professionals in the survey, who highlighted the essential need for improvement to the supply chain collaboration globally, and this will be the basic c Ključne besede: Keywords: supply chain strategies, lean, agility, leagility, supply chain future trends, supply chain management, grounded theory, scenario planning, supply chain collaboration, sourcing. 10. Global sourcing strategies : a framework for learn, agile, and leagileWaleed Rashad, Zlatko Nedelko, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The main purpose of this paper is to develop a framework for utilization of lean, agile, and leagile strategies in the supply chains, where the core idea of the framework is to improve the global sourcing practices. Based on in-depth interviews with supply chain professionals and grounded theory approach, we constructed a framework of global sourcing improvement to support better utilization of lean, agile, and leagile strategies, which we believe can help the supply chains worldwide to act better, especially in various difficult conditions and sustain their business accordingly. Our proposed framework also contributes to the UN´s Sustainable Development Goals, since the core concept of the framework is to establish a new organization under the umbrella of the UN to improve the global sourcing and consequently the usage of supply chain strategies accordingly. The applicative part of the paper reveals characteristics of new developed framework, ranging from its purpose and aims, structure, key processes, functions, and its financing. Along with validation of the framework are presented benefits for society, industry, and global economy. Additionally, the paper also reviews the impact of the current health and economic crisis caused by COVID 19, on usage of the three supply chain strategies namely; lean, agility, and leagility to see how they can work in the difficult time, as COVID 19.
