AVTOMATIZACIJA IN MODELIRANJE POSLOVNIH PROCESOV Z ORODJI PROIZVAJALCEV EMC IN IBM

Abstract: Podjetja se morajo pri prenovi in nakupu informacijskih rešitev zavedati svojih problemov in zahtev za informacijske rešitve ter sama raziskati vse možnosti pri ponudnikih takih informacijskih rešitev. Kot smo omenili, je na trgu veliko ponudnikov, vendar le redki ustrezajo specifičnim potrebam podjetja. Za take primere smo v tej nalogi predstavili nekatere od značilnosti takih informacijskih rešitev, ki doprinesejo podjetju največ, in nekatere probleme, ki lahko nastanejo pri uvajanju novih neprilagojenih informacijskih rešitev. Orodje za modeliranje poslovnih procesov in avtomatizacijo v podjetjih je lahko v velikih primerih projekt, ki se nikoli ne konča. Zato vsako podjetje naprej pri sebi dodela procese in s pomočjo orodij za modeliranje procesov pripomore k uspešnemu zaključku in tekočemu spremljanju verzij procesov.

Development and validation of business process reengineering (BPR) variables: a survey research in Slovenian companies

Abstract: Business Process Reengineering (BPR) literature is based primarily on case studies and there is a lack of rigorous wide-ranging empirical research covering all its aspects. This paper presents the results of a survey researchcarried out in 73 medium and large-sized Slovenian manufacturing companies. Seven crucial areas were identified based on a synthesis of BPR literature, which must be practised to achieve effective process reengineering: management commitment, education & training, team work, BPR project characteristics, employee cooperation, information technology support,and levers & results. Variables have been constructed within these areas, using Likert scales, and statistical validity and reliability analyses.These developed variables can be important both for understanding BPRand in terms of the descriptive statistics, also reported in this paper. What emerges is the crucial importance of process orientation, goal setting, and top management commitment. Furthermore, these variables can be helpful forfurther research aimed at investigating BPR and its linkages with other areas, such as strategy, performance measurement, etc.

Feasibility and rationale of introducing layers into business process models

Abstract: Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is the leader and de-facto standard in business process modeling, a sub-discipline of business process management. While BPMN's objectives are to be expressive, widely understood, interchangeable and executable, it has also became rich and complex. The objective of this article is to present an idea of lowering the complexity of BPMN by applying layers into BPMN based process models. As presented in the article, layers are the remaining complexity management approach, which has not been implemented in BPMN yet. The focal part of the article is a SWOT analysis of applying layers into business process models, as well as the future work and challenges which need to be solved in order to reach our research goal - increasing the objective and subjective understandability of BPMN based process models.

Abstract: This article proposes a scenario of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), as a innovative business strategy based on the analysis of business drivers, industry requirements, limit of current solution, and recent state-of-the-art review in the domain related to PLM. Potential industrial impact of the developed PLM technology solutions is analyzed. It is hoped that the proposed PLM technology solutions will form the frontier basis for further research, development, and application of PLM systems to quickly adapt to the dynamic changing market for industry companies to pursue the most advanced competitiveness. This article presents a process oriented framework to support effective PLM implementation with a set of lifecycle oriented business process reference models which links the necessary fundamental concepts, enterprise knowledge and software solutions to effectively deploy PLM.
