Investigating the influence of reflective materials on indoor thermal environment and solar reflectance in buildings

Opis: This in-depth study explores the intricate dynamics of reflective materials, emphasizing their impact on the indoor thermal environment and urban heat island (UHI) mitigation. Examining diffuse highly reflective (DHR), general reflective (GR), and retro-reflective (RR) materials on a simplified building model during summer days, the research utilizes outdoor experiments to analyze air and surface temperatures, as well as solar radiation. Prioritizing key metrics—mean radiant temperature (MRT), operative temperature (OT), and solar reflectance (ρ)—the study uncovers nuanced distinctions in DHR, GR, and RR materials. Solar reflectance calculations consistently show higher values for DHR and RR materials compared to GR material, highlighting reflectance's pivotal role in influencing surface temperatures and indoor thermal environment. When evaluating the impact of exterior wall materials on building temperatures, RR material with a 76% reflectance performs similarly to DHR material (82%). Notably, with a 6% lower reflectance in RR, the temperature contrast between external and internal walls is only about 1.5 °C at its maximum, underscoring RR's effectiveness as an outer wall material for UHI mitigation and building energy conservation, surpassing both DHR and GR materials.

Energy Efficiency Indicators of a Single Unit House

Opis: This article deals with the evaluation of energy efficiency indicators of an older single unit house with the use of "KI energija 2017" software, which is widely used among qualified Slovenian experts authorized to carry out the energy performance assessments and issue an energy performance certificate. The energy performance analysis before and after the implementation of proposed measures has shown significant energy saving potential in renovation of existing buildings.

Novel Half-Spaces Based 3D Building Reconstruction Using Airborne LiDAR Data

Opis: Automatic building reconstruction from laser-scanned data remains a challenging research topic due to buildings’ roof complexity and sparse data. A novel automatic building reconstruction methodology, based on half-spaces and a height jump analysis, is presented in this paper. The proposed methodology is performed in three stages. During the preprocessing stage, the classified input point cloud is clustered by position to obtain building point sets, which are then evaluated to obtain half-spaces and detect height jumps. Half-spaces represent the fundamental shape for generating building models, and their definition is obtained from the corresponding segment of points that describe an individual planar surface. The detection of height jumps is based on a DBSCAN search within a custom search space. During the second stage, the building point sets are divided into sub-buildings in such a way that their roofs do not contain height jumps. The concept of sub-buildings without height jumps is introduced to break down the complex building models with height jumps into smaller parts, where shaping with half-spaces can be applied accurately. Finally, the sub-buildings are reconstructed separately with the corresponding half-spaces and then joined back together to form a complete building model. In the experiments, the methodology’s performance was demonstrated on a large scale and validated on an ISPRS benchmark dataset, where an RMSE of 0.29 m was obtained in terms of the height difference.

Interoperability of infrastructure and transportation information models: A public transport case study

Opis: The duplication of semantic data modelled in different disciplines poses interoperability challenges. Information models that benefit from the application of standards that enable data reusability and prevent redundancy and misuse should be compatible, particularly when different systems are used in the same domain-specific area, as in the case of public transportation. Transportation information models, leading and providing reliable and robust public transport services, can nowadays be enriched with information found in building information models devoted to transportation infrastructure. Therefore, in the present paper, a mapping between the standards and technical specifications that support each modelling approach is explored, analysed, and aligned to maximise the best out of the current common practices used. The information from the Industry Foundation Classes IFC specification-based models complements the conceptual and physical transportation models, where Transmodel and NeTEx are well-established, with accurate (as-built) detailed characteristics of the transportation infrastructure (stop places, quays, entrances, access spaces and equipment as ramps, staircases, and escalators). The extraction of topological information stored in IFC models allows for navigation-network extraction, information about spaces, and passages between spaces. A specific public transport case study focused on a train station is detailed to better corroborate and illustrate the advantages and uses of compatible and complementing modelling approaches. As building-information-modelling awareness and use is growing, the validated mapping approach can benefit from the future application of automation procedures.

Vpliv team building programov na razvoj zaposlenih v podjetju

Opis: Usposabljanje in razvoj zaposlenih je nepogrešljivo strateško orodje za izboljšanje njihove uspešnosti. Glavni cilj magistrskega dela je preučiti vpliv team building programov na razvoj zaposlenih. Zaradi sunkovite globalizacije in modernizacije so podjetja primorana slediti trendom in si zagotavljati ustrezno konkurenčno prednost. Osrednji proces lahko pusti posledice na zaposlenih, če se vzporedno s tem procesom ne zagotavljajo ustrezni mehanizmi razvoja zaposlenih in s tem povezanega zadovoljstva na delovnem mestu. V dobi sodobnega kapitalizma so zaposleni z visoko specializacijo znanja v podjetjih višje vrednoteni, saj so kvalificiran in s tem težje zamenljiv kader. Namen magistrskega dela je v sklopu teoretičnih okvirjev preučiti dejavnike, ki vplivajo na razvoj zaposlenih, na njihovo dobro počutje in zadovoljstvo. Nadalje raziščemo programe in pristope, s katerimi organizacije dosegajo želene vplive. V okviru praktičnega dela s pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika analiziramo vpliv team building programov na razvoj zaposlenih v podjetjih Informatika, d. d., in Oryx, d. o. o. Team building predstavlja pomembno strategijo za razvoj organizacij, saj je v ospredju medsebojno sodelovanje zaposlenih in nadgradnja njihovega nivoja interakcije. Ker je v Sloveniji vpliv team building programov slabše raziskano področje, se na podlagi praktičnih okvirjev osredotočimo na vpliv, ki ga imajo team building programi na zaposlene. S pomočjo interpretacije pridobljenih rezultatov ugotovimo, da team building programi izboljšajo učinkovitost in produktivnost zaposlenih na primeru sodelujočih podjetij. Ravno tako zaposleni pozitivno vrednotijo odnos do team building programov. Starostna segmentacija v sodelujočih podjetjih ne vpliva na stopnjo zadovoljstva z izvajanjem team building programov, kar indicira na dobro zastavljenost programov. Ravno tako so zaposleni v večji meri zadovoljni z delovnim mestom, zato pogostost udeležbe na team building programih neposredno ne vpliva na njihovo zadovoljstvo. Vsekakor pa zaposleni menijo, da team building programi pozitivno vplivajo na njihove odnose med sodelavci. Na podlagi ugotovitev magistrskega dela sklenemo, da izvedba team building programov pripomore k vsesplošni blaginji podjetij in je relevantna.

Serious vs. Satire – Today’s Future as Depicted in the World-Building Elements of Blade Runner and Futurama

Opis: This thesis explores the world-building elements in the Blade Runner movies (Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049) and the TV series Futurama. The theoretical framework presents the terminology related to the titles’ and their world-building elements: science fiction and speculative fiction, dystopia and cyberpunk, satire and parody. Lastly, the concept of world-building is presented and the framework of the elements that are analyzed is defined. The world-building elements of the worlds of Blade Runner and Futurama are divided into the cultural and physical. The cultural elements are then further divided into: society and social issues, language, and science and technology. The physical are planet and climate, and the cityscape. This part of the thesis is a comparative analysis of the elements. It focuses on how the elements are presented in their respective worlds and compares them to each other and how they might relate to our own reality today and in the future. The comparative analysis shows how the satirical Futurama and serious, cyberpunk Blade Runner ‘predict’ future realities. Those are at the same time alternate and akin to our own.

Vpliv team-buildinga na zadovoljstvo zaposlenih v podjetju janus trade,d.o.o.

Opis: Obravnavali smo vpliv team-buildinga na zadovoljstvo zaposlenih v podjetju Janus Trade, d.o.o. Obiskovanje programov team-building se je izkazalo kot pomemben dejavnik pri zagotavljanju zadovoljstva zaposlenih. V teoretičnem delu smo najprej opredelili pojem zadovoljstvo pri delu, kaj pomeni in kdaj je pravzaprav posameznik zadovoljen pri delu. Potem smo opredelili tim in timsko delo. Prikazali smo, kako je sestavljen tim, razvoj in oblikovanje tima in opredelili timske vloge. Na koncu pa smo opredelili team-building. Predstavili smo vrste team-buildingov, prednosti in slabosti, dotaknili smo se tudi današnje realnosti in ugotavljali, ali so virtualni team-buildingi nova realnost, ter na koncu tudi predstavili potek programov team-building. V empiričnem delu smo z anketnim vprašalnikom ugotavljali, kako pogosto podjetje, ki smo ga izbrali, organizira programe team-building, kakšne oblike izbirajo, kako ti programi vplivajo na medsebojne odnose zaposlenih in razvoj tima ter kakšno je splošno zadovoljstvo zaposlenih v podjetju. Ob koncu smo na osnovi empiričnega dela odgovorili na zastavljena raziskovalna vprašanja in potrdili oziroma ovrgli postavljene hipoteze. Navedli smo tudi nekaj priporočil, ki bi podjetju še dodatno pomagala pri izboljšanju zadovoljstva zaposlenih in izbiri pravilnih oblik programov team-building. Ugotovili smo, da so zaposleni v podjetju po izvedbi programov team-building v veliki večini bolj motivirani za delo, njihova produktivnost se zviša, bolje se razumejo s svojimi sodelavci in bolj so povezani. Izvajanje programa team-building, v tem primeru zabavnega, vpliva na splošno zadovoljstvo v podjetju, zaposleni pa imajo do izvajanja teh programov zelo pozitiven odnos. Večino izmed teh odgovorov smo tudi pričakovali. Postavili smo hipoteze, da team-building vpliva na zadovoljstvo zaposlenih, da obstaja povezanost med udeležbo na team-buildingu in zadovoljstvom na delovnem mestu, da team-building pozitivno vpliva na medsebojne odnose zaposlenih in da med zaposlenimi v režiji in operativi obstajajo značilne razlike glede mnenja, ali jim team-building omogoča osebnostni in strokovni razvoj. Potrdili smo prvo hipotezo, da team-building vpliva na zadovoljstvo zaposlenih, in tretjo, da team-building pozitivno vpliva na medsebojne odnose zaposlenih. Preostalih dveh hipotez nismo mogli potrditi. Rezultati pa bi bili verjetno drugačni, če bi imelo podjetje več zaposlenih, kar pomeni večji vzorec anketirancev. Menimo, da se podjetje odloča za pravilno obliko team-buildinga, ki je v tem primeru zabavni team-building, saj iz rezultatov vidimo, da pozitivno vpliva na zaposlene in ima dejanski učinek pri zadovoljstvu in medsebojnih odnosih. Na splošno so zaposleni v podjetju zadovoljni, kar je spodbudno. Podjetje bi lahko poleg zabavne oblike delavnic dodalo še izobraževalni program, ki bi vplival na osebnostni in strokovni razvoj zaposlenih, vendar morajo spremljati, ali bo še vedno enak učinek na zaposlene. Ne želimo si seveda, da bi podjetje spremenilo vrsto izbora programa team-building in s tem povzročilo, da zaposleni ne bi bili zadovoljni oziroma izobraževanja ne bi dobro sprejeli.

Pomen team buildinga v podjetju

Opis: Pogosto je slišati, da so zaposleni največje premoženje podjetja, vendar to velja le, če so zadovoljni in motivirani. Z zadovoljnimi zaposlenimi je podjetje bolj konkurenčno in tudi uspešnejše. Najpomembneje je, da ne pozabimo na svoje zaposlene in z njimi stalno komuniciramo ter jim dajemo vedeti, da so izjemno pomembni za rast in razvoj podjetja. Iz tega izhaja, da je za lastnika podjetja izjemno pomembno, da zna skrbeti za rast in razvoj svojih zaposlenih skozi različne oblike. Ena izmed aktivnosti, ki bistveno vpliva na izboljšanje učinkovitosti, pripadnosti, komunikacije in odnosov med zaposlenimi, so različne oblike team buildingov, ki postajajo vedno pomembnejši pri ukvarjanju z zaposlenimi. Ponudba je tudi v Sloveniji vse bolj kakovostna in široka, tako se tudi podjetja pogosteje odločajo za 'outsourcing' team buildingov. Namen naloge je z raziskavo ugotoviti, v kolikšni meri team building vpliva na zaposlene, kako ga sami dojemajo in ali prepoznajo prednosti, ki jih prinaša. Ugotoviti smo tudi želeli, v kolikšni meri se podjetja odločajo za tovrstne programe in v kakšnem številu jih izvajajo. Prav tako je cilj ugotoviti, kako team buildingi vplivajo na zaposlene, njihove odnose, motivacijo, komunikacijo, kako to vpliva na njihovo znanje, kakšen odnos imajo do izvedbe team buildingov. Hkrati nas je zanimalo, ali poznajo cilje in namen team buildingov in ali jih ocenjujejo kot uspešne. Diplomska naloga je sestavljena iz teoretičnega in raziskovalnega dela. V raziskovalnem delu smo s pomočjo ankete ugotavljali spremembe zaposlenih po opravljenih programih team buildinga.

Organization, autopoiesis and human potential as paradigm of the future organization

Opis: Background and purpose: Eternal challenge to researchers of organization theory is how to develop a suitable organization for increasingly more complex internal and external processes, and how to set a simple definition for it. Demanding environment of organization and civilization is under constant pressure of competition for profit. This dynamics of profit is blinding humans so that they are drawing away from themselves and from creativity in organizations. A human too often reacts automatically, meaning that they do not use all the potentials which is a paradox of organization. Therefore, the contribution of autopoiesis – as a complete intertwinement of processes of characteristic characteristiccontinuous movement in the area of creativity and holistic human culture – is important. When speaking about paradigm of tomorrow’s organization, we are speaking about a person in organization, interpersonal self/co-dependence and self/co-dependence on micro and macro level. The purpose of our contribution is to research-inside this more and more virtual organization – the position and role of an individual, humanity and human potential as a creative potential of organic-humane organization. Design/Methodology/Approach: Research is based on qualitative approach. For more comprehensive study of autopoiesis in organization we used mixed methods. When forming the concept, we used the natural law as life circle and compared it with organization. Results: We developed a concept of autopoietic building blocks as life circle, presenting a concept of organization of future. The concept can be a comparative tool for perceiving processes in an organization. With results we substantiated that organization is losing processes of emotions and thinking of a human. Conclusion: Accepting autopoiesis on all levels of human activity and consequently increasingly more conscious organizations and society as a whole, results in processes, when autopoises influences the cultural development of society in the sense of connecting science, art, high technologies and spirituality. Results can serve as a guideline and challenge to humane organizations.

Competition authorities as the pillar of a competitive social market economy : a case study of institution building in Serbia

Opis: The European economic model benefits from market forces as conditions for achieving goals of enterprises and consumers and economic efficiency is assured by necessary market infrastructure. Competition authorities are, without a doubt, one of the crucial pillars of the (social) market economy. The strength and impact of the competition rules is determined by their efficient implementation. The modest results to date of the competition policy in transitional economies militates in favor of an increase of the institutional capacity and require strengthening of the regulatory powers of public agencies in construction of an efficient economic system. Establishing a system of competitive markets through sectoral regulation, competition protection and state aid control at the national level requires a valid solution for a variety of legal, political and institutional conflicts. As the experience of the countries of South-East Europe has shown, many difficulties arising from the establishment of a functioning control system are procedural and relate to institutional building dilemmas. The purpose of this article is to shed light on the requirements the Republic of Serbia has to satisfy in accession negotiations, and in particular, those related to building an efficient system of state aid control.
