Bond improvement in cementitious mortars reinforced with continuous carbon filaments

Opis: Among various parameters that influence the properties of the composite, the bond between the cementitious matrix and the fibres is the most important one. This paper investigates the influence of admixtures - silica fume, superplasticizer and air entraining agent - on the improvement of the bond between bundled carbon filaments and cementitious mortars. An overall microstructural analysis has shown that the addition of silica fume strengthen the interfacial transition zone by both the reduction of its porosity and the consumption of CH crystals. The addition of a superplasticizer increased the workability of fresh mortars, but the bond improvement was insignificant. The application of the air entraining agent caused the formation of air bubbles inside the mortar matrix. Air bubbles formed in the vicinity of the multifilament yarn were found to provide mechanical anchoring for fibres leading to a significant increase in interface friction. Fibre-bundle pullout tests were carried out to confirm the effectiveness of the admixtures to improve the interface bonding. Based on the resulting load-displacement curves, air entraining agent was found to be most effective in enhancing the bonding characteristics of the cementitious composite.

DINAMIČNI MODEL GORIVNE CELICE

Opis: V magistrski nalogi sem s pomočjo programske opreme Modelica in Bond graf izvedel modeliranje 7 kW agregata na gorivne celice, katerega uporaba je v Slovenski vojski prisotna od leta 2007. Osnova je bil torej prej omenjeni agregat. S pomočjo dobljenih rezultatov sem prišel do spoznanja, da gorivna celica z leti obratovanja izgublja na električni napetosti, prav toliko pa dobiva na toplotni moči. Prav tako vidimo, da je napetost na sponkah gorivne celice zelo odvisna od porabnika. Ne bo pa izpostavljen problem ekološkega opravičila za uporabo gorivnih celic, v primerjavi z električnimi avtomobili, ki uporabljajo baterije, in njihovo uporabo v prihodnosti, ki temelji na navedbi prednosti in slabosti gorivnih celic. V bližnji prihodnosti je pričakovati,glede na njihov o uporabo ter implementacij o, sprejem vodika kot goriva, namesto običajnih fosilnih goriv.

Artificial tooth and polymer-base bond in removable dentures: the influence of pre-treatment on technological parameters to the bond`s strength

Opis: The aim of this study was to evaluate the artificial tooth and polymerbase bond, and to measure any formatted gaps between tooth and base. Acrylic models were classified into four groups depending on the type of surface pre-treatment. A pre-treatment surface combining mechanical and chemical led to the highest bond strength between acrylic tooth and denture-base. The fore-mentioned pre-treatment had an influenced on gap formation with an average value of 68.250 micro m, which is 70 % of the gap for the untreated samples. Furthermore, the measured compressive strength was above 6000 N/mm2, yet only 3200 N/mm2 on the untreated samples.

Nonlinear spillovers between euro area sovereign bond markets

Opis: This paper examines nonlinear spillover effects between sovereign bond markets of six euro area countries (France, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Portugal, and Spain), four of which were among the hardest hit by the sovereign debt crisis, by applying a nonlinear Granger causality test of Diks and Panchenko (2006). The test is applied on the sovereign bond yield dynamics (i.e. yield changes) time series for the time period from 3 January 2000 - 31 August 2011. We also test for ˝pure˝ spillovers between sovereign bond yield dynamics, i.e. the spillovers after controlling for common and regional factors that impact the sovereign bond yield changes of all countries simultaneously. To verify if the nature of spillovers has changed after the start of the euro are sovereign debt crisis, we test for the nonlinear spillovers for the whole observed period and separately for the period be fore and after the start of the euro area sovereign debt crisis (period from the start of April 2010 until the end of our sample, i.e. 31 August 2011). The results of our study show that strong bi-directional Granger causality exists between the investigated sovereign bond markets. Very similar results are obtained whether the regional and world factors are or are not controlled for. We find strong bi-directional non-linear Granger causality for the investigated euro area countries prior the euro area sovereign debt crisis. After the start of the euro area sovereign debt crisis the interdependence be- tween the markets has reduced. We can no longer detect non-linear spillovers running from Germany and France to the ˝periphery˝ euro area countries. The findings of this study have important implications for the policymakers as they show that shocks spill-over quickly across the sovereign bond markets and the intensity and nature of spillovers can change throughout time. The sovereign bond markets of the ˝core˝ euro area decoupled from the ˝periphery˝ euro area sovereign bond markets after the start of euro are debt crisis. The findings are also of relevance for individual investors in the sovereign bond markets for the purpose of portfolio diversification.

Konstruiranje pridržalne čeljusti za sistem odpiranja napihovalnega tulca Roll-Bond plošče za HPO3

Opis: Za temo diplomskega dela, smo se dogovorili v podjetju Talum IZPARILNIKI d.o.o., kjer sem opravljal praktično usposabljanje. V diplomski nalogi je predstavljeno konstruiranje pridrževalnih čeljusti, s pridržalno enoto, za sistem odpiranja napihovalnega tulca Roll-Bond plošče za stroj HPO3. Razlog za izdelavo novih čeljusti, je v obstoječih čeljustih, ki nimajo ustrezne zatesnitve, prav tako pa se težko prilagajajo na različne debeline Roll-Bond plošč. Želja je bila konstruirati in izdelati nove čeljusti, ki bodo zmanjšale izmet in morebitna servisna dela. V uvodu je opisana družba Talum in podjetje Talum IZPARILNIKI d.o.o. in njihovi produkti. Nato je opisan problem, ki se je pojavljal do sedaj in rešitev dosedanjega problema. Po dogovoru s sodelavci o novi rešitvi, je sledilo 3D modeliranje čeljusti s pridržalno enoto. Predstavljena je tudi izdelava in montaža končnega izdelka.

Synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of a new hydroxylammonium fluoroferrate

Opis: This paper reports on the synthesis of a new hydroxylammonium fluoroferrate, with the formula $(NH_3OH)_3FeF_6$, obtained after dissolving iron powder in hydrofluoric acid and adding solid $NH_3OHF$. This new compound has been characterized by chemical and thermal analysis, single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and magnetic measurements. The title compound crystallizes trigonal, R3c, with cell parameters a = 11.4154(2) Å, c = 11.5720(2) Å, Z = 6. The structure consists of $NH_3OH^+$ cations and isolated $FeF_6^{3–}$ octahedra in which the central ion lies on a threefold axis. The oxygen and nitrogen atoms of the hydroxylammonium cations are donors of hydrogen bonds to fluoride anions, resulting in a network of hydrogen bonds between counterions. The effective magnetic moment $µ_{eff}$ = 5.8 BM was calculated and perfectly matches the expected value of high-spin Fe(III) ions. The thermal decomposition of the compound was studied by TG, DSC, and X-ray powder diffraction.
