1. The influence by the elderly on modernising the organisation of tourist farmsJože Zalar, Goran Vukovič, Rok Ovsenik, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background and purpose: The demographic structure of the countryside shows that the number of people aged 65 or more is increasing; however, they are still active and motivated for work and help the younger generation. The research aims at studying the influence of the elderly on the organisation of tourist farms; particularly the factors which affect the organisation of operation and modernisation thereof, such as the factors of inheritance, intergenerational organisational relationships and cooperation, the frequency of further training, inclusion of the elderly in tourist farms and the effect of the perceived changes in the organisation of subsidiary tourist activities on farms on the perception of modernisation.
Methodology: A critical review of secondary literature sources has been made and the findings were summarised by applying the synthesis method. Further on, a survey was conducted on tourist farms in all Slovenian cohesion regions in order to collect the data which was then analysed by multiple regression method, applying IBM SPSS software.
Results: Inheritance factors do not affect the perception of the modernisation of tourist farms in a statistically significant way; the same applies for intergenerational relationships for people, aged 51 or more while the influence was established for people under 51. Furthermore, the inclusion of the elderly does not have any influence neither does the frequency of further training while education and trainings themselves are important. It has been found out that the expansion of the offer, followed by the division of work, is the most significant for the perception of modernisation.
Conclusion: Survey results show good relationships among the social actors and possible solutions which can be implemented in order to help the population of the Slovenian countryside concerned. 2. Academic general practice/family medicine in times of COVID-19 - Perspective of WONCA EuropeAdam Windak, Thomas Frese, Eva Hummers-Pradier, Zalika Klemenc-Ketiš, Sonia Tsukagoshi, Josep Vilaseca, Shlomo Vinker, Mehmet Ungan, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: COVID-19 outbreak has significantly changed all aspects of general practice in Europe. This art-icle focuses on the academic challenges for the discipline, mainly in the field of education, research, and quality assurance. The efforts of the European Region of the World Organisationof National Colleges, Academies, and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/FamilyPhysicians (WONCA Europe) to support academic sustainability of the discipline in the time ofpandemic are presented. Medical education was affected by the pandemic, threatening both itsproductivity and quality. Emerging new educational methods might be promising, but theresults of their rapid implementation remain uncertain. A relatively small number of publicationsrelated to COVID-19 and general practice is available in the medical literature. There is a short-age of original data from general practice settings. This contrasts with the crucial role of GPs infighting a pandemic. COVID-19 outbreak has opened widely new research areas, which shouldbe explored by GPs. Maintaining the quality of care and safety of all patients during the COVID-19 pandemic is the utmost priority. Many of them suffer from poor access or inadequate man-agement of their problems. Rapid implementation of telemedicine brought both threats andopportunities. The COVID-19 pandemic also challenged doctors' safety and well-being. Theseaspects will require discussion and remedy to prevent deterioration of the quality of primarycare. WONCA Europe is making a multi-faceted effort to support GPs in difficult times of thepandemic. It is ready to support future efforts to uphold the integrity of family medicine as anacademic discipline. 3. Crime as a business, business as a crimeJosip Kregar, Antonija Petričušić, 2010, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: Purpose:
This paper endorses the claim that in transitional societies the line between business and crime is elusive because weak states foster a legal order that is formalistic, bureaucratic, politically biased and prone to corruption.
Design/Methods/Approach:
Three elements are discussed in the paper. First, the paper briefly analyses legal and institutional state of affairs in transitional Western Balkans societies that condone organised crime. Secondly, it investigates the phenomenology of the (corruptive) crime behaviour, explaining how it managed to integrate into society in the context of a weak state. Thirdly, the paper investigates why state policies and measures fail to fight crime as the business. In this part the paper contests a traditional definition of criminal organisation as a hierarchical one, claiming that mafias are not organizations in a traditional sense.
Findings:
The paper emphasizes that the fight against organised crime is not just a fight against individuals or individual criminal behaviour; but a fight to increase the efficiency of the government. The paper furthermore asserts that better understand of the organised crime problem can occur only if its fighting and addressing happens from the point of view of a good governance. Namely, the precondition to fight against organised crime or parallel activity requires increased efficiency and capacity of governmental institutions.
Originality/Value:
This paper adds to the academic and practical understanding of the organised crime in the post-transitional settings. Apart from being instructive and up-todated source of information for the regional setting it deals with, the paper sheds a new light on understanding of organised crime. 4. Attitudes toward workplace mobbing in Slovenian research organisationsBrigita Krsnik Horvat, Milan Pagon, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Creating a "mobbing-safe" working environment can be a real challenge; to achieve it, a better understanding of related constructs is necessary. To obtain insight into researchers' attitudes toward workplace mobbing and behavioural intentions, we used a case scenario method. The results show that respondents, on average, consider the mobbing cases presented in a questionnaire to be very serious. Their attitudes and behavioural intentions depend more on their opinion about colleagues' attitudes and related intentions and less on their own, which shows a lower integrity than desired. Low willingness to report the violator, lenient discipline sanctions and the absence of proper organisational rules create favourable conditions for workplace mobbing in Slovenian public research organisations. This paper also proposes measures based on the research findings of various authors and identifies new questions that could be addressed in further research. 5. Analysis of public relations in an international non-profit organisation: example organisation Board of European Students of TechnologyDominik Ivančan, 2017, diplomsko delo Opis: This thesis aims to analyse the state of public relations inside an international student organisation, namely the “Board of European Students of Technology”, while also providing a communications strategy based on the performed analysis. In it, we research the theory behind public relations, strategic communication, branding and marketing, which we then use to perform said analysis and create a communication strategy proposal. We explore terms such as strategic communication, public relations, and the public, along with the internal and external environment of the organisation. In order to create an efficient strategy, we also define terms such as goals, objectives and actions – and use them accordingly. 6. Contemporary network organizations in SloveniaJure Kovač, Brigita Gajšek, 2014, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Modern organisations are confronted with enormous challenges. The need to continuously adapt to changing environments represents a main challenge for modern organisations. In order to adapt to the requirements of modern environments more easily and more rapidly, organisations become connected into networks. A network organisation is fast becoming a favourite form of the modern organisation. On the basis of an analysis of members in the field of network organisations, this contribution presents the dimensions and definitions of network organisations. In the follow-up, the starting point for a theoretical explanation of network organisations and their different existing forms is presented. The emphasis of the empirical part of the contribution focuses on presenting an analysis of forms of network organisations that are present in Slovenia from the perspective of their shape, development and actual state. Based on an analysis of relevant documentation, it may be concluded that it was the institutional environment which initiated and directed the start-up processes that led to the establishment of contemporary network organisations within Slovenia. 8.
