1. Digitalizacija registra prostovoljcev v črni goriLuka Popović, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: The present thesis focuses on the development of a platform that will digitalize the volunteer log in Montenegro. To best understand the needs of our platform, we first need to gain a better understanding of what volunteering is, how it is carried out, and by whom, all taking into consideration the legal context. The currently existing solution for logging volunteer hours is highly impractical and seemingly has a low number of uses, indicating a need for renewal. In Montenegro, volunteering as well as any efforts volunteers put in have low recognition. Our solution is an easy-to-use, web platform developed in Flutter that enables seamless tracking of all volunteer services and activities and sets the foundation for a digital platform for everything related to volunteering on a national level. The research identifies the necessary functionalities through questionnaires for volunteers and interviews with volunteer managers and coordinators. Additionally, it explores the legal outline and how it navigates the desired outcome. Finally, an application is presented alongside the recommended improvements that will be added in the future. The developed platform allows for easy and comprehensive volunteer activity data tracking and helps streamline the volunteer management process. Its implementation would help with the national recognition of volunteer, as well as the skills and competencies one acquires through it. 2. Novel in vitro model for toxicological analysis of drugsEneko Jose Madorran Esteiro, 2024, doktorska disertacija Opis: Despite there being a substantial range of available drugs on the market, many patients still lack effective and safe medications for their specific conditions, showing a constant need to develop new ones. Toxicological models enable us to assess their safety to various degrees, but all such models have certain limitations. Considering the advantages and drawbacks of these models, we have developed a novel viability method, Membrane Potential Cell Viability Assay (MPCVA), and a novel cell-based in vitro liver model to overcome some of the limitations of these models. The MPCVA evaluates the changes in the membrane potential, so we tested the membrane potential and cell viability relation with a cell-by-cell analysis. The MPCVA was further tested in case of cell exposure to various toxic agents that induce different cell death pathways. Finally, we used MPCVA to determine the viability of our novel cell-based in vitro liver model, which we built by combining four different types of liver cells (hepatocytes, hepatic stellate cells, Kupffer cells, and liver sinusoidal endothelial cells). Along with the MPCVA, we used clinical instrumentation to test the toxicity of three hepatotoxic drugs (5-fluorouracil, ibuprofen, and rifampicin). We observed that, under the given conditions, the MPCVA had a similar toxicity assessment as standard viability methods. We also observed that the toxicity assessment of hepatotoxic drugs is similar to the in vivo toxicity evaluation (clinical data). Therefore, the suggested approach can potentially improve existing toxicological models. However, we understand its translation to clinical practice warrants further experimentation in exposures to other drugs/toxins and by also using other cell types. 3. Study of the receiving system of a Low Power Tag Detector and its usage in RFID and NFC applications : magistrsko deloJovanka Dimkovska, 2022, magistrsko delo Opis: This work presents an observation of the analog and digital architecture of the reception system of a radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader in the high frequency (HF) domain and the creation of near-field communication (NFC) Application, which is developed for Android and iOS users.
This thesis includes a description of RFID and NFC technology, as well as a sufficient amount of information about the standards that define those technologies. The reception system of a given interrogator was thoroughly studied, beginning with the analog signal on the interrogator’s antenna and how it is interpreted in the analog domain for determining the presence of an object in its vicinity. The most emphasis in this thesis was given to the reader when it is in a Tag Detector mode. The Tag Detector mode of the reader is the mode in which the interrogator can detect changes on its antenna. Measurements were taken while testing the Tag Detector at various gain settings of the reception system. To improve the accuracy of those detections, the Tag Detector mode was switched to reader mode, allowing the detected tag’s acknowledgement message to be received. The detection range, as well as the reading range of the interrogator, are also discussed.
An NFC application was developed that functions as an interrogator for both the iOS and Android operating systems. The goal of this application is to apply the knowledge we have gained from the study about RFID and NFC communications, as well as the comparison between the tag detection and read ranges of the two types of interrogators. 4. English teaching update available: a study on online EFL educators : magistrsko deloAndreja Benković, 2021, magistrsko delo Opis: The master’s thesis explores the north-Croatian teachers’ readiness for teaching online. With technology slowly, but steadily, taking over everyday actions, it was only a matter of time when it would take over education. With March 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic, technology was the safest way of conducting lessons and was instantaneously implemented into education. This master’s thesis aims to determine how English teachers in the three northernmost Croatian counties managed the new challenge. Specifically, it tests factors that influenced their e-readiness through 7 hypotheses. The research is based on questionnaire results – the questionnaire was sent to 86 primary schools, 30 secondary schools and 11 private language schools in Međimurje county, Varaždin county and Koprivnica-Križevci county via email with a request to forward it to their English teachers. Analysing responses with quantitative research methods, the study showed that factors such as age, gender and professional development influence teachers’ e-readiness, while there were no differences among the three counties. Furthermore, the results revealed that the teachers generally feel ready for conducting online lessons, although Gay’s questionnaire on Carribean teachers’ online teaching readiness proved otherwise. Interestingly, some of the teachers did have online teaching experience prior to the pandemic, which along with organized professional development offered to them, helped them feel ready to teach online. Ultimately, teachers are better prepared to teach online than they were prior to the pandemic; however, there is still a lot of room for improvement. 5. A framework for managing future supply chain trends: utilization of lean, agile and leagile strategiesWaleed Rashad, 2020, doktorska disertacija Opis: The supply chain has become very essential to run any business nowadays. Throughout the history of business, the professionals have been trying always to find out the best practice, and as long as the business concept is evolved over time, the practice, methodologies and techniques of doing the business also have been evolved.
This evolvement led to the concept of supply chain initially and then later it became essential to have strategy for supply chain. The evolvement of the markets, globalization, and new technologies became very decisive subjects for building any supply chain and developing its strategy, but there are many other events that may take place which could enforce the supply chain decision makers to change the current approach of running their business.
The dynamic business environment and the possible future trends of the global markets represent a real challenge for development of appropriate supply chain strategies, like lean, agility, and leagility. Therefore, it is very important to assess how different possible strategies are suitable for the future changes of the markets? This is to enable the supply chain to be prepared with adequate strategies for different future scenarios.
To achieve this aim of preparing the supply chains for the future with adequate strategies, a deep study is done to research lean, agility and leagility, explaining the similarities and differences of these concepts. These strategies are dealing with the most important factors in supply chains; the time and the cost, what is the key reason for selecting these particular strategies lies in the fact, that they are concerned with improving the effectiveness and responsiveness in the supply chain and this is extremely important for the future.
We continued study of these strategies by development of three possible future scenarios for energy scarcity, new international monetary system, and wars. The reason of developing these particular scenarios is because they are concerned with the most important political and economic events which could happen and affect the supply chains in the future (EY, 2013; Cook, 2006; Sokov, 2015). These scenarios are established to anticipate the possible challenges which could face the supply chain strategies in the future and to evaluate the suitability of supply chain strategies for such future scenarios.
A survey of 150 supply chain professionals, who are working currently in the field of supply chain management, is done in two phases. The first phase is focusing on recognition of the opinions of surveyed supply chain professionals towards the supply chain strategies and their utilization. Based on the theoretical knowledge of the academic literature reviewed in this research, proposed scenarios, and the feedback of professionals in the survey, it was evident that supply chains’ managers need adequate framework, which will support improvement of current and future supply chain management.
Therefore, the grounded theory methodology is used to create a new conceptual framework. The core idea of the proposed framework is to improve the global sourcing practice, which consequently will enable improving the management of supply chains according to the predicted scenarios.
A second phase of survey is conducted to present the proposed framework to the supply chain professionals for evaluation. The proposed framework adds value to the global sourcing process, which enhancing the supply chain collaboration and helps to support the selected supply chain strategies for consideration – i.e., lean, agility, and leagility, to work better in the future.
The proposed framework represents scientific contribution to the supply chain strategies utilization in practice. The results of this contribution are obviously to fill the gap highlighted by the supply chain professionals in the survey, who highlighted the essential need for improvement to the supply chain collaboration globally, and this will be the basic c Ključne besede: Keywords: supply chain strategies, lean, agility, leagility, supply chain future trends, supply chain management, grounded theory, scenario planning, supply chain collaboration, sourcing. 6. AKADEMIJA UMETNOSTIKaltrina Jashanica, 2015, magistrsko delo Opis: In this Master’s Thesis we attempt to explain how delicate is the period of study;
and how it can be influenced, as well as how determining can be solid
composition/buildings for the personal insights of artists. The aim is to bring a
new aura where art, students, artists, community, surrounding interlace in one
art hub. The new Academy of Arts lies on the degraded area in the south of
Technical Faculties.
This thesis addresses two major issues within the main objective:
Firstly, to offer enough and pleasant space/environment to Art students.
While the second approach reconsiders the existing architecture which is
currently downgraded.
In the first steps of work, the existing blocks were analysed carefully in order to
preserve them as much as possible, and involve them in a new solution. Further,
new structure is implanted respectfully into the old lines while the content brings
completely different atmosphere compared to conventional way of organizing
and teaching.
Thus, the new design embraces both, the old and the new structures with a rich
program and diverse spaces and atmospheres. Ključne besede: Keywords: Academy, Artistic centre, Institutionalised Art, Rehabilitation, Maribor Objavljeno v DKUM: 24.02.2015; Ogledov: 2402; Prenosov: 488 Celotno besedilo (158,71 MB) |
7. Development of intercultural competence in contemporary foreign language classroom by incorporating information and communication technologyMirjam Danilović, 2011, diplomsko delo Opis: The idea for the diploma thesis arouse from the fact that technology and the Internet are still not widely used in the English classroom. When thinking about how to integrate technology in the classroom I was inspired by different web sites which offer a vast variety of authentic as well as ELT-specific materials that can be used in the English classroom. I decided to focus on developing intercultural competence with information and communication technology by extending the intercultural topics covered in the coursebooks for students at secondary level.
In the theoretical part of my thesis I present the notion of intercultural competence as defined by different authors. A special emphasis is given to developing of intercultural competence in the English classroom, including planning lessons to develop intercultural competence. In the third chapter the information and communication technology (ICT) and the English classroom is covered. Some possibilities of using ICT in the English classroom in terms of Web 2.0 are presented, which is the basis for the empirical part.
In the empirical part of my thesis the activities to extend the intercultural topics covered in coursebooks are planned and presented. Since all activities are planned to be done online, they are available also on the Internet.
