31. Method of the best available technology and low carbon future of a combined heat and power plantDušan Strušnik, Marko Agrež, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The low-carbon development strategy and ecological awareness of a combined heat and power (CHP) plant is the key factor that enables further development of such systems. CHP plants are subject to rigid European ecological guidelines, which dictate the pace of development of global thermal power engineering. For this purpose, the European Union issued a special Directive for the promotion of heat and power cogeneration, and is established with the best available technology (BAT) method. Even though the production of electricity using carbon-free technologies is on the rise, the production of electricity by fossil fuel combustion cannot be avoided completely. The meaning of the operation of the CHP plant is reflected particularly in the provision of tertiary services to the electric power system, regulation of the network frequency, particularly in winter months, when electricity production using carbon-free technologies is limited. In CHP systems, the low-carbon future is linked intricately to high investment costs and these impacts the final price of energy. Using the BAT method, the article presents the advantages of energy production in a combined heat and power plant, an example of the restructuring of a larger CHP system into a low-carbon plant and guidelines for further development. 33. The use of selective laser melting in mandibular retrognathia correctionAndrej Čretnik, Anita Fekonja, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Digitalization and additive manufacturing offer new possibilities in the manufacturing of individualized medical and dental products. In the paper we present the results of the first 30 consecutive growing patients (15 males and 15 females), with a mean age of 13.69 years (SD = 1.26), who were treated for mandibular retrognathia (skeletal Class II malocclusion), using fixed sagittal guidance (FSG) appliance, individually manufactured by selective laser melting (SLM). Lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken before (T0) and after (T1) treatment and a detailed cephalometric analysis was performed. with a special focus on a time period for malocclusion correction. The analyzed data were compared with the control group (CG; treated with intermaxillary Class II elastics) that was matched for pretreatment age and pretreatment cephalometric measurements. Both methods were effective in the correction of Class II malocclusion, but the time period of correction was significantly shorter (16.03 ± 1.09 months vs. 20.65 ± 4.12 months) with the FSG appliance. After treatment visual skeletal and dentoalveolar effects were achieved, with statistically significant differences measured in mandibular incisors inclination (0.45° in FSG and 2.84° in CG) and distance (−0.61 mm in FSG and 0.13 mm in CG), in mandibular first molar inclination (−1.07° in FSG and 1.18° in CG) and overbite (−3.82 mm in FSG and −2.46 mm in CG), all in favor of FSG appliance. After the final mean treatment time of 16.03 ± 1.09 months, visual skeletal and dentoalveolar effects were achieved, with significant differences in sagittal (SNB angle, SNPg angle, mandibular length (CoGn) and consequently decrease in ANB angle) as well as in vertical (lower anterior facial height (LAFH) and gonial angle) measurements noted, with no reported complications. As the time needed for malocclusion correction was comparable with the reports in the traditional use of the functional appliance and as all the cosmetical and functional changes in all the treated patients remained stable after a 2-year observational period, growing patients with Class II malocclusion could benefit with this type of treatment. 34. Differences in chemistry teachers' acceptance of educational software according to their user type : an application of extended UTAUT modelKateřina Chroustová, Andrej Šorgo, Martin Bilék, Martin Rusek, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In this research, a model to determine chemistry teachers' acceptance of educational software in secondary education is proposed. The model extends the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model. Data were collected from 556 Czech chemistry teachers and analysed using structural equation modelling. With respect to the significant differences among technology users and various types of nonusers, the research model for each user group was tested too. The results showed significant differences in the individual models for each group of technology user. In the model for "current users" of educational software, the influence of facilitating conditions on current users' use of educational software behavioural intention is stressed. In addition, non-planning users' behavioural intention seems to be influenced by their personal innovativeness in IT, social influence, and performance expectancy. Behavioural intention and attitude towards using educational software affect each of the tested models, with attitudes being an even stronger predictor of educational software usage than behavioural intention. The models contribute to the understanding of teachers' acceptance of educational software, which can be utilized in both pre- and in-service teacher training, considering technology mastery a necessary teacher competence. 35. Country life in the digital era : comparison of technology use and cybercrime victimization between residents of rural and urban environments in SloveniaIgor Bernik, Kaja Prislan Mihelič, Anže Mihelič, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Cybercrime is one of the most significant security challenges of the 21st century. However, official statistics do not provide insights into its prevalence and nature. Representative cross-sectional field studies may help fill this gap, focusing on differences between urban and rural technology users. We (a) investigated the association between the purpose of computers and other electronic device usage and perceived vulnerability, (b) compared the differences in the purpose of computers or other electronic device use and perceived vulnerability, and (c) compared the perceived cyber victimization between residents of rural and urban areas. We conducted a field study that resulted in a representative sample of the Republic of Slovenia in Europe. We found several significant differences in the purpose of technology use and perceived cyber victimization. Furthermore, the results indicate that the purpose of technology use is somehow associated with perceived vulnerability in cyberspace; however, such associations are different in cyberspace than in the material world. 36. The role of B2B marketing strategy, ICT B2B marketing support, and service quality in market orientation – Performance relationship : evidence from three European countriesGregor Jagodič, Borut Milfelner, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of marketing strategy, information communication technology (ICT) marketing support, and service quality in the market orientation–performance relationship. Even though there are many studies considering the market orientation–performance relationship they rarely take into consideration ICT marketing support and marketing strategy, especially concerning the companies operating in B2B markets. Additionally, this study compares the impacts of the constructs between two emerging economies (Slovenia and Serbia) and one developed economy (Austria) on a random sample of 636 companies. Results were obtained based on the set hypotheses using the covariance-based structural equation modeling (SEM) and invariance testing procedure to make comparisons between the three countries. Market orientation strongly influenced the successful development and implementation of marketing strategies, ICT support, and service quality. The impact of service quality on company performance was statistically insignificant and only the indirect impact of market orientation on company performance through service quality was determined. ICT marketing support and successful development and implementation of B2B marketing strategy were also positively related to company performance. This study can help managers in B2B companies in emerging and developed markets to learn how to use specific marketing resources in order to achieve higher company performance. 37. Analysis of two diverse nursing records applications : mixed methods approachMarija Milavec Kapun, Vladislav Rajkovič, Uroš Rajkovič, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Introduction: Poor adoption of electronic health records among healthcare workers can diminish their impact. Healthcare informatics solutions development should diligently acknowledge end-user needs. This study compares a user experience and perceived quality of the nursing process integration in two different applications for electronic documentation of the nursing care plan. Both applications were designed and tested in Slovenia.
Methods: In the first phase, final year undergraduate nursing students were recruited (n=73) and randomly assigned into two groups. Each group used one of the applications for a duration of five hours. A survey among students was conducted. In the second phase, additional students were recruited (n=40) and invited to participate in qualitative analysis of the unfavourably rated application.
Results: The modern, visually improved application was favourably rated by students in terms of all aspects of application usability. However, students reported a significant number of inadequacies regarding the nursing process methodology integration. On the contrary, the students using the poorly rated and visually outdated application reported no such concerns. Qualitative analysis of student reflections identified additional positive features of software design that were not detected in survey results analysis.
Conclusion: This study showed that a user-centred approach can be used to compare diverse electronic solutions. Detected discrepancies in findings using qualitative and quantitative analysis show the importance of integrating diverse research approaches for adequate evaluation of software solutions. Furthermore, this study design promotes empowerment of healthcare workers to participate in the development and critical evaluations of software solutions. 39. Are we ready to use microchip implants? : an international crosssectional studyAnja Žnidaršič, Alenka Baggia, Jakub Fischer, Maciej Rostanski, Borut Werber, Antonín Pavlíček, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background and purpose: Despite their clear relevance to human life, microchip implants are still widely viewed as negative, threatening our privacy and raising growing concerns about our health. This paper aims to investigate the important factors influencing people’s perception of microchip implants and their willingness to use them for different purposes.
Methodology: The cross-sectional study was conducted in three European countries and the data were analysed using the group Structural Equation Modeling approach. Only complete answers to the online survey questionnaire items were used representing a convenience sample of 804 respondents.
Results: The results show that perceived ease of use, usefulness and perceived trust are significant predictors of intention to use microchip implants. Perceived trust is influenced by privacy and technology safety. Concerns about painful procedures and other health concerns reduce the perceived usefulness of microchip implants. Apart from the predictor health concerns, the results were similar in all countries.
Conclusion: Based on the presented results, researchers interested in investigating the actual use of microchip implants can establish a solid foundation for their research. The results may assist policy makers in developing the regulations to ensure the safe use of microchip implants and allow for a higher level of security. As a follow-up, investigation of changes in the acceptance of microchip implants following the threat of a global pandemic is proposed. 40. The impact of digital technologies and digitalization on labour law : the case of SloveniaMitja Stefancic, Elizabeta Zirnstein, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Building on research focusing on the impact of digital technologies on the labour market, this paper provides an interpretation of major findings by reference to labour law in Slovenia. It is argued that the existing labour law in Slovenia does a reasonable job in dealing with the changes we are witnessing in digital economy. However, the problem is in the implementation of workers rights in practice. The workers are not taking action to enforce their legal rights as much as one could expect. In addition to this, employers do not put enough attention to the challenges that digitalisation brings in the field of health at work and in the field of workers% skills. Therefore, the Slovene government should embark upon a system of reforms to improve the promptness of courts in labour disputes. It should also appoint more labour inspectors. At the same time, employers should adopt practical solutions regarding the organisation of working process with aim to diminish the negative impacts of digitalisation on health at work. Furthermore, the employers should put more attention to the development of workers skills, especially those which, according to theory, will be crucial in the future.
