21. Use of mobile technologies in tourism : natural health resorts studyBoštjan Brumen, Peter Planinc, Tomi Špindler, Mitja Gorenak, Tanja Lešnik Štuhec, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Mobile technologies have drastically changed the way people do everyday activities. Tasks previously reserved for desktop environments have moved to mobile devices, and nowadays, half of the internet traffic is stemming from mobile devices. The tourism industry is no exempt from the shift from desktop to mobile. In our research, we check to what extent natural health resorts have adapted and integrated mobile solutions to their websites. We collected data about the friendliness of selected websites using automated online tools and carried out a heuristic evaluation. The results were statistically analyzed and compared. Only roughly half of natural health resorts have optimized their websites for mobile devices. There are no statistically significant differences when comparing purely technical aspects. However, an in-depth heuristic evaluation has shown that some web sites are significantly more mobile-friendly than others and offer better technical conditions for enhanced user experience. Our study is the first technical and contentual evaluation of website mobile devices' friendliness in the natural health resort sector. It warns management, their marketing consultants, and web site developers about the opportunities they are missing by not supporting mobile users sufficiently. Further, it outlines deficiencies and provides suggestions and instructions for optimizing websites to enhance user-friendliness on mobile devices. 24. Barriers to applying last-mile logistics in the Egyptian market : an extension of the technology acceptance modelMohamed Amr Sultan, Tomaž Kramberger, Mahmoud Barakat, Ahmed Hussein Ali, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Drawing on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this research aims to investigate
the impact of social, environmental, and technological barriers on adopting the last-mile logistics
application. This research used a self-administrative questionnaire to collect 1060 respondents from
the Egyptian market and analysed it using partial least square structural equation modeling. The
findings revealed that some elements could obstruct the implementation of last-mile delivery technologies, namely complexity, collaboration efforts between users and application developers and the
impact of technical knowledge and expertise on the potentially involved users. The sharing economy
helps organisations reduce contaminants, emissions and carbon footprints, and last-mile logistics is
one of the tools of the sharing economy that can enhance the productivity and competitiveness of
logistics and boost consumer fulfillment. This research will help enhance organisations’ performance
in Egypt as a developing country and push towards applying environmental sustainability practices,
as it introduces a tool to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce emissions by illustrating how
last-mile logistics can be implemented. This is particularly important as last-mile logistics face some
implementation barriers, especially in developing countries. In addition, it will help in extending
the theory through conceptualising its abstract ideas with the research variables and applying it in a
different context.

25. Investigating the impact of supply chain management practices on customer satisfaction through flexibility and technology adoption : empirical evidenceNourhan Ahmed Saad, Sara El Gazzar, Sonja Mlaker Kač, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The aim of this research is to empirically investigate the influence of supply chain management practices (SCMPs) on customer satisfaction through the mediating rolesof flexibility and technology adoption. A questionnaire was used to collect data from organizational consumers in the Egyptian context, in which hypotheses were analyzed through covariance-based structural equation modeling for 1009 usable questionnaires. The findings revealed the positive relationship between SCMPs and flexibility, technology adoption, and customer satisfaction. Moreover, it revealed the positive relationship between technology adoption and customer satisfaction, however, the direct impact of flexibility on customer satisfaction is not significant. Empirical evidence also illustrated that technology adoption can significantly mediate the relationship between SCMPs and customer satisfaction. 26. Simultaneous use of digital technologies and industrial robots in manufacturing firmsKlemen Kovič, Robert Ojsteršek, Iztok Palčič, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper presents the use of digital technologies and industrial robots in manufacturing firms. More importantly, we look at the relationship between the use of digital technologies and industrial robots within the Industry 4.0 concept. We also use a specific Industry 4.0 Readiness index to assess manufacturing firms’ Industry 4.0 readiness level and analyze the relationship between the achieved readiness level and the use of industrial robots. The research is based on data from 118 manufacturing firms from a European Manufacturing Survey. Based on statistical analysis, we present the results that show a significant correlation between the use of specific digital technologies and two types of industrial robots. Our study also points out that manufacturing firms with a higher Industry 4.0 readiness level tend to use industrial robots more frequently. 28. A regenerator used in the installation of magnetic refrigeration devicesDorin Botoc, Jurij Avsec, Adrian Plesca, 2020, strokovni članek Opis: In this article, the mechanism and functioning of a refrigeration system based on the magnetic system and the magnetocaloric effect are examined. Magnetic refrigeration plants operate based on a state-of-the-art technology that does not contain any toxic refrigerant that is harmful to the environment and the ozone layer. The magnetocaloric effect is created by a rare earth metal called gadolinium. We have studied the benefits of using this type of mechanism for both domestic and industrial needs. High efficiency, net energy consumption lower than the classic, silent systems, and a lack of typical refrigerant characterize this type of installation. The following layout describes the initial prototype for AMR in magnetocaloric refrigeration. 29. Structural topology optimization of the wheel's spokes of NASA's perseverance rover using advanced discretization techniques : magistrsko deloJure Trdin, 2023, magistrsko delo Opis: In the space industry, the continuous effort to reduce the weight of structural components is of utmost importance due to the high cost of launching mass into space. Structural analyses and optimizations with numerical methods play a crucial role in achieving this goal by minimizing material usage while ensuring structural integrity. The objective of this dissertation is to implement and demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of meshless methods in numerical studies compared to the Finite Element Method (FEM), focusing on designing cost-effective and lightweight components. Through benchmark examples and extensive research on optimal parameters, the accuracy and effectiveness of these methods are established. Furthermore, practical application is demonstrated by optimizing the spoke of NASA's Rover Perseverance wheel, resulting in more optimized structures with significantly reduced mass and lower mechanical stresses. Additionally, analysis of different materials for the wheel's spoke is performed with the aim of further reducing mass and increasing performance. By utilizing structural optimization, this work not only highlights the diverse applications and benefits of integrating structural optimization in the product design phase but also contributes to the ongoing efforts in the space industry to reduce material mass and enhance performance, addressing the challenges associated with launching mass into space while ensuring the adequate structural resistance. Furthermore, this thesis also contributes to the development of the meshless methods in structural optimization, showcasing its effectiveness and potentials.
