Differences in students’ physical selfperception in PE classes according to gender and nutritional status

Opis: The purpose of the study was to examine the level of physical self-perception (PSP) in the Physical Education class, and to determine differences in dimensions of PSP according to gender and nutritional status. On a sample of 283 4th- and 8th-graders in primary school, an anonymous questionnaire was applied. Fourth-graders made higher assessments of their coordination, sport competences, strength, flexibility and endurance than 8th graders. Moreover, significant differences were obtained in certain dimensions of PSP with regard to gender and nutritional status. A low level of PSP may be an obstacle to physical activity. These results indicate that PSP decreases by age and by gender.

The effects of spinal manipulation on motor unit behavior

Opis: Over recent years, a growing body of research has highlighted the neural plastic effects of spinal manipulation on the central nervous system. Recently, it has been shown that spinal manipulation improved outcomes, such as maximum voluntary force and limb joint position sense, reflecting improved sensorimotor integration and processing. This study aimed to further evaluate how spinal manipulation can alter neuromuscular activity. High density electromyography (HD sEMG) signals from the tibialis anterior were recorded and decomposed in order to study motor unit changes in 14 subjects following spinal manipulation or a passive movement control session in a crossover study design. Participants were asked to produce ankle dorsiflexion at two force levels, 5% and 10% of maximum voluntary contraction (MVC), following two different patterns of force production (“ramp” and “ramp and maintain”). A significant decrease in the conduction velocity (p = 0.01) was observed during the “ramp and maintain” condition at 5% MVC after spinal manipulation. A decrease in conduction velocity suggests that spinal manipulation alters motor unit recruitment patterns with an increased recruitment of lower threshold, lower twitch torque motor units.

Evaluation of an integrated programme of physical exercise with nursey-aged children : impact on motor achievements

Opis: The aim was to determine if there is a possibility of conducting an integrated programme of physical exercise with nursery-aged children, as well as to evaluate its impact on their motor achievement. The sample consisted of nursery-aged children. The sample of variables comprises four tests for evaluating motor achievement based on the various movement structures that allow mastery of space, obstacles and resistance, as well as the manipulation of objects. The differences between the experimental and control groups were tested with Student’s t-test. The results show that these programmes yielded exceptional results with regard to motor achievement.

Uporaba servo motorja za simulacijo delovnega okolja : diplomsko delo

Opis: V diplomskem delu smo na kratko predstavili uporabo simulacij v delovnih okoljih in opisali pojem haptika. Opisali smo potek zasnove sistema in utemeljili izbor servo motorja ter ostalih komponent. Razčlenili smo izdelavo sistema na strojni del, elektro in programski del. Izdelan sistem smo testirali in popravili napake. Z lastno uporabo sistema smo preizkusili simuliranje delovnih okolij, uporabnost sistema pa so na koncu potrdili še testerji.

Parkinson’s disease non-motor subtypes classification in a group of Slovenian patients : actuarial vs. data-driven approach

Opis: Background and purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the risk factors, prodromal symptoms, non-motor symptoms (NMS), and motor symptoms (MS) in different Parkinson’s disease (PD) non-motor subtypes, classified using newly established criteria and a data-driven approach. Methods: A total of 168 patients with idiopathic PD underwent comprehensive NMS and MS examinations. NMS were assessed by the Non-Motor Symptom Scale (NMSS), Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAM-D), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A), REM Sleep Behavior Disorder Screening Questionnaire (RBDSQ), Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), Starkstein Apathy Scale (SAS) and Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS). Motor subtypes were classified based on Stebbins’ method. Patients were classified into groups of three NMS subtypes (cortical, limbic, and brainstem) based on the newly designed inclusion criteria. Further, data-driven clustering was performed as an alternative, statistical learning-based classification approach. The two classification approaches were compared for consistency. Results: We identified 38 (22.6%) patients with the cortical subtype, 48 (28.6%) with the limbic, and 82 (48.8%) patients with the brainstem NMS PD subtype. Using a data-driven approach, we identified five different clusters. Three corresponded to the cortical, limbic, and brainstem subtypes, while the two additional clusters may have represented patients with early and advanced PD. Pearson chi-square test of independence revealed that a priori classification and cluster membership were significantly related to one another with a large effect size (χ2(8) = 175.001, p < 0.001, Cramer’s V = 0.722). The demographic and clinical profiles differed between NMS subtypes and clusters. Conclusion: Using the actuarial and clustering approach, marked differences between individual NMS subtypes were found. The newly established criteria have potential as a simplified tool for future clinical research of NMS subtypes of Parkinson’s disease.

School-based exercise programs for promoting cardiorespiratory fitness in overweight and obese children aged 6 to 10

Opis: The aim of this study was to conduct a systematic review of the school-based exercise programs for promoting cardiorespiratory fitness in overweight and obese children aged 6 to 10. Electronic databases (Web of Science and PubMed) were used as searching tools for collecting adequate studies published in the past 20 years. A total of 13 studies met the criteria for inclusion in this review, with a total of 2810 participants, both male and female. According to the results of this systematic review, overweight and obese children aged 6 to 10 who underwent certain interventions had their CRF improved. Furthermore, evidence suggested that interventions carried out during a longer period of time suggested led to greater improvement of cardiorespiratory fitness than a shorter one, but the level of cardiorespiratory fitness gradually decreases after the intervention.

Experimental and numerical investigation of Rayleigh-Benard convection in rectangular cavity with motor oil

Opis: Naturally flows have been the scope of the scientific research for centuries, Rayleigh-Benard convection being one of the leading. Many researchers have considered the flow patterns, boundary conditions, various cavities, nanofluids, theoretically, numerically, and experimentally. The flow was investigated in atmosphere and in nanofluids, in air, water, molten metals, non-Newtonian fluids. Almost all research focuses on 2-D or 3-D analysis of flow in laterally unlimited enclosures, as parallel plates or coaxial cylinders. In technical practice, only limited enclosures exist. This paper presents numerical and real experimental results for the test chamber with ratio 4×2×1 in x-, y-, and z direction, respectfully. The measurements were taken at fifteen different positions on the faces of the tank. Probes used are PT100 elements. As the chamber is limited in all directions, the results have shown strong influence of the lateral walls. The results are compared with the those obtained by IR camera. Various fluids were tested, and results for motor oil will be presented.

Primerjava občutljivosti atmosferskega in tlačno polnjenega motorja z notranjim zgorevanjem na spremembe fizikalnega stanja okoliškega zraka : diplomsko delo

Opis: Diplomska naloga vsebuje rezultate simulacij, izvedenih na enodimenzijskem numeričnem modelu atmosferskega in tlačno polnjenega motorja z notranjim zgorevanjem. Rezultati simulacij so moč, navor in izkoristek posameznega motorja, vhodne spremenljivke pa so temperatura, tlak in nadmorska višina. Ugotovili smo, da se moč, navor in efektivni izkoristek povečujejo s padanjem temperature zraka, s padanjem tlaka pa se ti karakteristični parametri znižujejo. Primerjava rezultatov je pokazala, da so spremembe moči, navora in izkoristka pri enakih pogojih večje pri atmosferskem motorju v primerjavi s tlačno polnjenim motorjem.

Konstruiranje in načrtovanje enoosnega pozicionerja : magistrsko delo

Opis: V magistrskem delu je predstavljen proces načrtovanja in konstruiranja enoosnega pozicionerja za različne nosilnosti. Cilj je bil razviti pozicioner, ki izboljšuje funkcionalnost, stroškovno učinkovitost in prilagodljivost v primerjavi z obstoječimi rešitvami. Izbran je bil servo motor kot pogon in harmonični reduktor kot gonilo. Uporaba programa Autodesk Inventor Professional 2024 je omogočila izdelavo zvarjenega ohišja in celotnega sestava. Ekonomična analiza je potrdila smiselnost lastne izdelave. Narejeni so bili načrti za uporabljene polizdelke, načrt zvarjenca ohišja in načrt njegove obdelave. Delo zaključuje s sklepi in predlogi izboljšav, ko se izdela prototip.

Sistem strojne opreme v zanki za razvoj kompleksnih sistemov : magistrsko delo

Opis: V magistrskem delu je opisan razvoj tiskanega vezja strojne opreme v zanki katera simulira elektromotor. Razvito tiskano vezje omogoča simulacijo faznih tokov, temperature elektromotorja in pozicije rotorja. Uporabniku omogoča izbiro različnih senzorjev za določanje pozicije rotorja, kot so Sin-Cos, Resolver, SSI in HALL. Komunikacija z računalnikom je omogočena prek povezave CAN.
