RADIO-FREKVENČNA IDENTIFIKACIJA KOT INSTRUMENT OPTIMIZACIJE DOBAVNE VERIGE

Opis: V raziskovalnem delu smo predstavili edinstveno tehnologijo RFID (ang. Rario- Frequency Identification) in s pomočjo osnovnih strategij SCM (ang. Supply Chain Management) prikazali možne optimizacijske nastavke na nivoju celotne dobavne verige. RFID je splošen izraz, ki se uporablja za opis sistema, ki brezkontaktno, preko radijskih valov, transmitira identiteto objekta zapisano v obliki unikatne serijske številke. Koncept sistema RFID je zelo preprost. Sestavljata ga RFDI bralnik z anteno in RFID priponka (ang. TAG) z anteno, prenosni medij med čitalnikom in priponko pa so radijski valovi nizke moči. Omrežje EPC pomaga implementirati tehnologijo RFID v odprte sisteme in na ta način doseči integracijo celotne dobavne verige v enoten sistem. S pomočjo online povezave želimo na nivoju posameznega izdelka, označenega z RFID odzivniki, doseči tako imenovani »internet stvari«. Virtualni prostor, v katerem bodo imeli predmeti določeno umetno inteligenco, kar bo omogočalo komunikacijo med predmeti, predmeti in stroji, stroji in ljudmi ter predmeti in ljudmi. Področja uporabe RFID so praktično neomejena. Trenutno se RFID uporablja za označevanje in sledenje živali, prepoznavanje izdelkov v trgovinah, identificiranje ladijskih kontejnerjev, plačilo cestnine, spremljanje pošiljk v logistiki, pri izposoji knjig v knjižnicah, na parkiriščih in v garažah, za kodiranje ključev itn. Tehnologija RFID v primerjavi s črtno kodo omogoča hitrejše in natančnejše logistične procese, kar bo imelo za posledico, da RFID čez čas izpodrine uporabo črtne kode. Zelo pomembna tema pri tehnologiji RFID je standardizacija, kajti ta zagotavlja globalno povezljivost komponent sistemov RFID, ki bodo v skladu s svetovnimi regulacijami, kar je izrednega pomena pri uporabi v globalnih dobavnih verigah. V nadaljevanju smo predstavili šest osnovnih strategij SCM, ki lahko v sinergiji s tehnologijo RFID na nivoju celotne dobavne verige dosega optimizacijske potenciale. Tako smo celotno dobavno verigo razdelili na štiri sklope, kjer smo za vsak posamezni odsek preučili kake prednosti prinaša implementacija nove tehnologije. Z uvedbo nove tehnologije so povezani določeni riziki. Varstvo podatkov predstavlja poglavitnega, ki skuša obvarovati posameznega potrošnika pred zlorabo njegovih podatkov. Veliki trgovski giganti, kot so Metro, Wall Mart in Tesco uporabljajo RFID že nekaj let. Oni predstavljajo gonilno silo pri širjenju uporabe tehnologije in posredno pri zniževanju cen odzivnikov, strojne ter programske opreme. Tehnologija je trenutno predraga za majhna in srednje velika podjetja, ki pa bodo morala v prihodnosti začeti razmišljati o njeni implementaciji, kajti konkurenca z dneva v dan postaja močnejša.

RAČUNALNIŠKO PROGRAMIRANJE IN MODELIRANJE DELOVNEGA STROJA

Opis: Za diplomsko nalogo sem si izbral temo na področju računalniškega modeliranja in programiranja. Kot praktični primer sem uporabil delovni stroj-cepilec polen, ki služi za cepljenje polen in uporabniku omogoča lažje delo z manj fizičnega napora. V nalogi sem se opredelil predvsem na konstruiranje samega stroja in na posamezne komponente, kako jih izdelati ter preračune, ki jih zajema takšen delovni stroj. V diplomski nalogi bom natančneje prikazal in opisal, s katerimi računalniškimi programi sem si pomagal pri modeliranju celotnega stroja in NC programiranju določene komponente stroja. Naredil sem tudi simulacijo delovanja stroja ter simulacijo poti orodja.

Using neural networks in the process of calibrating the microsimulation models in the analysis and design of roundabouts in urban areas

Opis: The thesis researches the application of neural networks in computer program calibration of traffic micro-simulation models. The calibration process is designed on the basis of the VISSIM micro-simulation model of local urban roundabouts. From the five analyzed methods of computer program calibration, Methods I, II and V were selected for a more detailed research. The three chosen calibration methods varied the number of outgoing traffic indicators predicted by neural networks and a number of neural networks in the computer program calibration procedure. Within the calibration program, the task of neural networks was to predict the output of VISSIM simulations for selected functional traffic parameters - traveling time between the measurement points and queue parameters (maximum queue and number of stopping at the roundabout entrance). The Databases for neural network training consisted of 1379 combinations of input parameters whereas the number of output indicators of VISSIM simulations was varied. The neural networks (176 of them) were trained and compared for the calibration process according to training and generalization criteria. The best neural network for each calibration method was chosen by using the two-phase validation of neural networks. The Method I is the calibration method based on calibration of a traffic indicator -traveling time and it enables validation related to the second observed indicator – queue parameters. Methods II and V connect the previously described calibration and validation procedures in one calibration process which calibrates input parameters according to two traffic indicators. Validation of the analyzed calibration methods was performed on three new sets of measured data - two sets at the same roundabout and one set on another location. The best results in validation of computer program calibration were achieved by the Method I which is the recommended method for computer program calibration. The modeling results of selected traffic parameters obtained by calibrated VISSIM traffic model were compared with: values obtained by measurements in the field, the existing analysis methods of operational roundabouts characteristics (Lausanne method, Kimber-Hollis, HCM) and modeling by the uncalibrated VISSIM model. The calibrated model shows good correspondence with measured values in real traffic conditions. The efficiency of the calibration process was confirmed by comparing the measured and modeled values of delays, of an independent traffic indicator that was not used in the process of calibration and validation of traffic micro-simulation models. There is also an example of using the calibrated model in the impact analysis of pedestrian flows on conflicting input and output flows of vehicles in the roundabout. Different traffic scenarios were analyzed in the real and anticipated traffic conditions.

Computational modelling of irregular open-cell foam behaviour under impact loading

Opis: Cellular structures represent an important class of engineering materials. Typical representative of such structures are metallic foams, which are being increasingly used in many advanced engineering applications due to their low specific weight, appropriate mechanical properties and excellent energy absorption capacity. For optimal design of cellular structures it is necessary to develop proper computational models for use in computational simulations of their behaviour under impact loading. The paper studies the effects of open-cell metallic foam irregularity on deformation behaviour and impact energy absorption during impact loading by means of parametric computational simulations, using the lattice-type modelling of open-cell material structure. The 3D Voronoi technique is used for the reproduction of real, irregular open-cell structure of metallic foams. The method uses as a reference a regular mesh structure and utilises an irregularity parameter to reproduce the irregularity of real open-cell structure. A smoothing technique is introduced to assure proper stability and accuracy of explicit dynamic simulations using the produced lattice models. The effects of the smoothing technique were determined by comparative simulations of smoothed and unsmoothed lattices subjected to dynamic loading.

Dealing with redundancy and inconsistency in constructive geometric constraint solving

Opis: General constructive geometric constraint solvers are pre-processed by a degree-of-freedom analysis, which enables efficient graph decomposition and recombination. However, all these methods are based on the assumption that structural rigidity automatically assures solvability. In this paper, we show that this assumption fails in numerous, even the most basic, configurations. We introduce several simple but efficient rules aimed to additionally analyse solvability in such cases. Another novelty addresses conditional constraints between three or more geometric parts, rules for their simplification and a redundancy check. All these functionalities are built into our original 2D geometric constraint solver, based on concepts of rigid clusters and constrained-angle (CA) sets.

Influence of blending functions on volumetric cloud images

Opis: Various blending functions can be applied in the volumetric modelling of clouds. This paper analyzes the impact of five different blending functions (linear, cubic, Wyvill-1, Wyvill-2, and cosine) on cloud shape, structure, and area. We have found that there are only negligible differences among them. Therefore, we can conclude that the simple linear blending function satisfies all the desired properties for generating cloud images by volumetric modelling.

Characterization of open-cell cellular material structures with pore fillers

Opis: Due to their mechanical properties, cellular material structures are often used in automotive, aerospace, ship and railway industries, as elements for deformational energy absorption. New advanced cellular material structures have been evaluated and characterised in the scope of this study in order to determine their energy absorption capability through the deformation process. Parametric computational simulations in the framework of the finite element method have been used for this purpose. Newly developed computational models of regular open-cell cellular material structures considering viscous pore fillers have been developed and their response under impact conditions was analysed using the explicit code LS-DYNA. The results of the performed study show that introduction of viscous fillers indeed increases the energy absorption capability of open-cellular material structures. Additionally, it was determined that the size of the cellular material (number of cells) dramatically influences the cellular structure response and that the filler influence is stronger in cellular structures with higher relative density.

Item modeling concept based on multimedia authoring

Opis: In this paper a modern item design framework for computer based assessment based on Flash authoring environment will be introduced. Question design will be discussed as well as the multimedia authoring environment used for item modeling emphasized. Item type templates are a structured means of collecting and storing item information that can be used to improve the efficiency and security of the innovative item design process. Templates can modernize the item design, enhance and speed up the development process. Along with content creation, multimedia has vast potential for use in innovative testing. The introduced item design template is based on taxonomy of innovative items which have great potential for expanding the content areas and construct coverage of an assessment. The presented item design approach is based on GUI's - one for question design based on implemented item design templates and one for user interaction tracking/retrieval. The concept of user interfaces based on Flash technology will be discussed as well as implementation of the innovative approach of the item design forms with multimedia authoring. Also an innovative method for user interaction storage/retrieval based on PHP extending Flash capabilities in the proposed framework will be introduced.

Layered additive manufacturing in clinical medicine

Opis: The use of contemporary technologies of Computer Assisted Design (CAD), combined with latest rapid prototyping, tooling and manufacturing, with traditional CT scanning techniques and high medical skills are used as instruments for better diagnostic visualization, simulation of procedures and treatment of patients with craniofacial deformities. They also improve the overall performances of medical and nursing staff thus influencing the quality of medical service. Patients with congenital defects, orthognathic deformities, deformities after malignancy treatment or after craniofacial traumatic injuries of different severities are of particular interests due to both aesthetic and functional alterations. The paper presents two clinical cases - a patient with scull bone defect after brain hemorrhage and brain edema as well as a patient with hemifacial microsomia treated by surgery followed by implantation of titanium angular implant prepared by means of computer tomography scans, Computer Aided Design and Rapid Manufacturing technologies.
