RAZVOJ MOBILNIH APLIKACIJ NA PLATFORMI ANDROID

Abstract: V diplomskem delu predstavljamo najbolj pogosto uporabljane mobilne platforme. Med njimi se še posebej posvetimo platformi Android, pri čemer smo izpostavili njegove prednosti, uporabo in arhitekturo. Nadalje predstavljamo tudi razvojno okolje Eclipse in uporabo le-tega pri razvoju mobilnih aplikacij za platformo Android. Nalogo zaokrožujemo z mobilno aplikacijo za obveščanje o športnih rezultatih, ki smo jo za platformo Android razvili v razvojnem okolju Eclipse.

EVA: expressive multipart virtual agent performing gestures and emotions

Abstract: Embodied Conversational Agents (ECAs) play an important role in the development of personalized and expressive human-machine interaction, allowing users to interact with a system over several communication channels, such as: natural speech, facial expression, and different body gestures. This paper presents a novel approach to the generation of ECAs for multimodal interfaces, by using the proprietary EVA framework. EVAćs articulated 3D model is mesh-based and built on the multipart concept. Each of its 3D submodels (body-parts) supports both bone and morph target-based animation, in order to simulate natural human movement. Each body movement's structural characteristics can be described by the composite movement of one or more elementary units (bones and/or morphs), and its temporal characteristics by the durations of each of the movementćs stages (expose, present, dissipate). EVA scripts provide a means of defining and fine-tuning body motion in the form of predefined gestures, or complex behavioural events (provided by external behaviour modelling sources). Since behavioural events can also be described as a combination of tuned predefined gestures and the movements of elementary units, a small number of predefined gestures can form infinite sets of gestures that ECA can perform. ECA EVA, as presented in this paper, provides both: a personalization of its behaviour (gesture level), and a personalization of its outlook.

Annotating discourse markers in spontaneous speech corpora on an example for the Slovenian

Abstract: Speech-to-speech translation technology has difficulties processing elements of spontaneity in conversation. We propose a discourse marker attribute in speech corpora to help overcome some of these problems. There have already been some attempts to annotate discourse markers in speech corpora. However, as there is no consistency on what expressions count as discourse markers, we have to reconsider how to set a framework for annotating, and, in order to better understand what we gain by introducing a discourse marker category, we have to analyse their characteristics and functions in discourse. This is especially important for languages such as Slovenian where no or little research on the topic of discourse markers has been carried out. The aims of this paper are to present a scheme for annotating discourse markers based on the analysis of a corpus of telephone conversations in the tourism domain in the Slovenian language, and to give some additional arguments based on the characteristics and functions of discourse markers that confirm their special status in conversation.

A unified approach to grapheme-to-phoneme conversion for the plattos slovenian text-to-speech system

Abstract: This article presents a new unified approach to modeling grapheme-to-phoneme conversion for the PLATTOS Slovenian text-to-speech system. A cascaded structure consisting of several successive processing steps is proposed for the aim of grapheme-to-phoneme conversion. Processing foreign words and rules for the post-processing of phonetic transcriptions are also incorporated in the engine. The grapheme-to-phoneme conversion engine is flexible, efficient, and appropriate for multilingual text-to-speech systems. The grapheme-to-phoneme conversion process is described via finite-state machine formalism. The engine developed for Slovenian language can be integrated into various applications but can be even more efficiently integrated into architectures based on finite-state machine formalisms. Provided the necessary language resources are available, the presented approach can also be used for other languages.

Abstract: Pametne mobilne naprave, kot so tablični računalniki in pametni telefoni, hitro postajajo del našega vsakdana. Zaradi velike raznolikosti proizvajalcev tako strojne, kot tudi programske opreme, se moramo razvijalci spletnih, predvsem pa mobilnih aplikacij pogosto odločati med različnimi programskimi okolji in orodji. Diplomsko delo obravnava nova programska ogrodja primerna za izgradnjo mobilnih spletnih aplikacij, ki temeljijo na novih spletnih tehnologijah. Skupni cilj teh tehnologij je podpreti čim širši spekter mobilnih naprav in s tem razbremeniti razvijalce programske opreme.

RAZVOJ APLIKACIJE KINOTEKA NA MOBILNI PLATFORMI ANDROID

Abstract: Pametni mobilni telefoni in operacijski sistemi zanje so v zadnjih treh letih doživeli razcvet na področju mobilne telefonije. Operacijski sistem Android pridobiva na popularnosti in počasi prevzema vlogo vodilnega operacijskega sistema za mobilne naprave. Cilj diplomskega dela je spoznati platformo Android in razviti aplikacijo za operacijski sistem Android. V prvem delu diplomskega dela tako predstavljamo platformo Android, sam razvoj, sestavne elemente in tudi arhitekturo operacijskega sistema Android. Sledi opis razvojnega okolja Eclipse, v katerem smo razvili aplikacijo Kinoteka. Podrobneje opisujemo tudi potek razvoja aplikacije Kinoteka. V okviru razvoja smo najprej pripravili načrt za aplikacijo, ter predvideli potrebne grafične gradnike in željen izgled uporabniškega vmesnika. Na koncu naloge predstavljamo tudi test aplikacije in končni izgled grafičnega vmesnika.
