Fatigue behaviour of copper-brazed 316L stainless steelJernej Kralj, Blaž Hanželič, Srečko Glodež, Janez Kramberger, Roman Satošek, Branko Nečemer, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The plate heat exchanger (PHE) is a component that provides heat to be transferred from hot water to domestic cold water with-out mixing them with high efficiency. Over the lifetime of the PHE, cyclic pressure acts on the brazing points and the plates, andthis can lead to fatigue failure. The fatigue behaviour of the PHE, designed by using copper-brazed 316L (also known as 1.4404) stainless steel, was investigated by performing fatigue tests to obtain the S-N curve of the analysed brazed joint. The fatigue tests were performed on a Vibrophore 100 testing machine under the load ratio R= 0.1 for different values of calculated ampli-tude stress. Based on the obtained experimental results, an appropriate material model of the analysed brazed joint was created, which was validated with a numerical calculation in the framework of a program code Ansys. A validated material model canthen be used for the subsequent numerical analysis of the PHE. 2. A computational model for analysing the wear behaviour of polymer gearsAljaž Ignatijev, Srečko Glodež, Aleš Belšak, Matej Borovinšek, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In the presented study, a computational model was developed to analyse the wear behaviour of contacting mechanical elements like gears, bearings, etc. The model was built in the framework of the PrePoMax open-source CalculiX FEM (Finite Element Method) solver and enables a detailed analysis of the meshing dynamics of contacting mechanical elements. The model also considers the hyperelastic behaviour of the material in contact and the impact of operating temperature. The developed computational model was evaluated on a spur gear pair, where the pinion made of POM (Polyoxymethylene) was meshed with a support gear made of case-hardened steel 16MnCr5. The computational results were compared with the analytical results according to the VDI 2736 guidelines and experimental results on the real gear pairs. Compared to the standardised procedure according to the VDI 2736 guidelines, the model's main advantage is the geometry updating after a chosen number of loading cycles, enabling a more accurate prediction of wear behaviour under rolling/sliding loading conditions. 3. Noise evaluation of S-polymer gearsBoštjan Trobentar, Matija Hriberšek, Simon Kulovec, Srečko Glodež, Aleš Belšak, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In this study, an acoustic behaviour of S-polymer gears made of the material combination
POM/PA66 was investigated and compared to the standardised involute gears (E-gears). Basic
evaluating characteristics included noise during operation, which is of particular significance when
noise reduction is expected. The measured signals were analysed in time and frequency domains
and the levels of acoustic activity were compared. The experimental results have shown that the
sound pressure level of both E- and S-polymer gears are proportional to the torque. However, the
comprehensive noise evaluation has shown some advantages of S-polymer gears if compared to the
E-polymer gears. In that respect, S-polymer gears were found more appropriate for noise reduction
of gear drive systems in the case of normal loading and typical drive speed. Future studies in the
operating behaviour of S-polymer gears could also cover noise evaluation using new methods of

4. Fatigue behaviour of PA66 GF30 at different temperaturesMarko Zadravec, Janez Kramberger, Branko Nečemer, Srečko Glodež, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: A comprehensive experimental investigation to understand the mechanical properties and fatigue behaviour of glass-reinforced polyamide (PA66 GF30) at different temperatures is presented in this paper. The specimens for quasi-static and fatigue testing were machined from previously extruded plates, where two orientations were considered: (i) the extrusion direction (ED) and (ii) the direction perpendicular to extrusion (PED). Both the quasi-static and fatigue tests were performed under different temperatures (22 ◦C and 100 ◦C). The fatigue tests were performed in a load control regime under pulsating loading (R = 0.1) to create S–N curves for all the temperatures and loading directions. The experimental results of the quasi-static tests showed that the test specimens manufactured in the extrusion direction have better mechanical properties when compared to those of the specimens manufactured perpendicular to the extrusion direction. Furthermore, the analysis of the quasi-static tensile test results showed that tensile strength, yield strength, and the modulus of elasticity are significantly dependent on the temperature and deteriorate when the temperature is increased from 22 ◦C to 100 ◦C. The results of the fatigue tests showed that at both the temperatures (22 ◦C and 100 ◦C), the samples produced in the direction of extrusion exhibited higher fatigue strength than those produced perpendicular to the direction of extrusion. For all the sample orientations, the fatigue strength decreased significantly with increasing temperature. The obtained experimental results could be very useful when designing and dimensioning different dynamically loaded engineering components made of PA66 GF30 subjected to high temperatures. 5. Mehanska karakterizacija in metalografska analiza lotnih spojev za toplotne izmenjevalce : magistrsko deloErik Rihter, 2024, magistrsko delo Opis: V magistrskem delu smo ugotovili lastnosti toplotnih izmenjevalcev iz nerjavnega jekla in bakrene folije s pomočjo mehanskih preizkusov, metalografske in fraktografske analize ter meritvami mikrotrdote. Za rezultate dinamičnih testov smo izračunali koeficient in eksponent trdnosti pri utrujanju. Metalografsko analizo smo naredili na vzorcu osnovnega materiala, nepretrganega spoja in pretrganih preizkušancev mehanskih preizkusov. Na vzorcih dinamičnih preizkušancev smo izvedli tudi fraktografsko analizo. Meritve mikrotrdote HV0,1 smo opravili na nerjavnem jeklu, v okolici spoja in na utrujanih vzorcih. Z mikrostrukturnimi analizami in meritvami mikrotrdote smo ugotovili, da pride do utrjevanja materiala glede na amplitudo obremenjevanja. 6. Fatigue analysis of axisymmetric chiral cellular structures made out of 316L stainless steelŽiga Žnidarič, Branko Nečemer, Nejc Novak, Srečko Glodež, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Abstract In the proposed study, the fatigue analysis of an axisymmetric chiral cellular structure and its modified form, made of stainless steel 316L, is carried out. The main goal of the original structure geometry was to absorb as much mechanical energy as possible with its auxetic behaviour. However, it was found through testing that its response could be improved by modifying the thickness of the struts through the structure. Representative models for the original and modified geometries were generated using a script adapted for this numerical simulation. Three different types of displacement in the shape of sine waves were used to load the structures. A hexagonal mesh was assigned and determined by convergence analysis. An existing material model with the necessary LCF parameters was assigned in the computational analyses. The data from multiple simulations were recorded and presented in graphs that showed how the fatigue life of the structures changed depending on the level of strain. We also analysed stresses and plastic deformations that occur in the structures. The results showed that, despite a better stress distribution, the fatigue life of the optimised structure was shorter in all cases. 7. Konstruiranje in optimizacija komercialnega sefa starprim 2 in primerjava z aktualno konstrukcijoNoel Prša, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: Konkurenčnost izdelave in prodaje nekega produkta je s pojavom vedno večjega trga izdelkov vedno višja, kar še dodatno povečujejo izdelki iz držav, kjer je delovna sila cenejša, posledično so stroški proizvodnje nižji, prav tako pa je nižja tudi končna cena.
Zaradi tega moramo pri razvoju novih produktov biti pozorni na način konstruiranja, kjer lahko s samo sestavo konstrukcije prihranimo čas v proizvodnji, obenem sestavne dele prilagodimo oblikovnim ujemom, tako da ne more priti do napak zaradi nepravilnega pozicioniranja, prav tako se na ta način prihrani tudi čas, ki ga varilec porabi za pozicioniranje.
V sklopu diplomske naloge se je na novo skonstruirala serija komercialnih sefov 2. varnostne stopnje, ki jih proizvaja podjetje Primat d.d., v katerem sem opravljal praktično usposabljanje, vendar se bomo zaradi same preobsežnosti naloge osredotočili na sef modela Starprim 2095. 8. Rekonstrukcija depaletizerja pločevink z avtomatskim odjemalcem vmesnih kartonovNika Horvat, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: V diplomskem delu je predstavljen proces depaletizacije, ki smo ga v podjetju AneFill zasnovali za podjetje Radenska; proizvodnjo pijač, ki je bilo naš naročnik. Obravnava se problem pri transportu praznih pločevink s polne palete na transportni trak, ki vodi naprej po transportni liniji do polnilca pijače. Pri tem se je bilo treba osredotočiti na razpoložen prostor in druge omejitve pri rekonstrukciji in nadgradnji iz obstoječega ročno vodenega depaletizerja, da le-ta postane avtomatsko voden depaletizer. Pomeni, da stroj samostojno potisne prazne pločevinke s palete na transportni trak in pri tem tudi odvzame vmesni karton. Ta cikel se ponavlja večkrat, dokler paleta ni prazna. V diplomskem delu je posebej opisano celotno delovanje in snovanje posameznih komponent depaletizerja ob pomoči različnih tipov slik, preračunov in končnega izgleda avtomatiziranega depaletizerja. 9. Konstruiranje vpetja za sistem nizkega izpusta gnojevke na cisternoJan Romih, 2024, diplomsko delo Opis: V diplomskem delu je natančno predstavljena konstrukcija vpetja sistema za nizek izpust gnojevke in nosilca zaklepov za cisterno, ki ustreza tehničnim zahtevam in zagotavlja zanesljivo delovanje. Po analizi cisterne in razvoju več konceptnih rešitev smo izbrali optimalno. Modelirali smo v programu SolidWorks in izvedli računalniško analizo v programu PrePoMax. Rezultati so pokazali, da je vpetje robustno in primerno za predvidene obratovalne pogoje. Pri montaži smo odpravili nekatere nepredvidene težave in sistem uspešno pritrdili. Končni izdelek izpolnjuje vse tehnične zahteve in upošteva omejitve cestno prometnih predpisov.
