Geographical reflections of mine pollution in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia
Snježana Musa, Željka Šiljković, Dario Šakić, 2017, original scientific article

Abstract: Numerous landmine fields cause an immense problem for the development of economy in rural areas of the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Even twenty years after the Homeland War in Croatia, i.e. the same period after signing the Dayton Accord and war cessation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, huge areas are still contaminated with landmines. In Croatia are approximately 1.69 % of contaminated territory agricultural areas in the east part of country, forests and forestry land, i.e. pastures in highlands and the Mediterranean areas are most endangered. Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the most landmine contaminated countries in the world. Severe landmine contamination in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been detected on pasture and forestry land, in the vicinity of the former war zone, in the central part of the country. Out of the total number of 1,366 landmine contaminated settlements in the Bosnia and Herzegovina territory, some 1,169 are rural communities.

Ekološki odtis Mestne občine Maribor
Patricija Tjukajev, 2017, original scientific article

Ariane Droin, Wolfgang Sulzer, Matthias Wecht, 2016, original scientific article

Abstract: This paper deals with the generation of a swimming pool cadastre for Graz by means of multitemporal analyses of aerial photographs. Twelve temporal steps between 1944/45 and 2015 are analysed partly by digital image processing and visual mapping. The result shows an enormous increase of private swimming pool between the 1990 (600) and 2015 (5600). The distribution of swimming pools and their different types shows specific patterns, which can be geographically interpreted by social settlement structures.

The demographic ageing of population in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Alma Kadušić, Alija Suljić, Nedima Smajić, 2016, original scientific article

Abstract: In this paper the age structure and the ageing population process in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the second half of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century is analyzed. The main reasons that caused changes in the age composition of the population and the population ageing in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been researched. The main causes of the population ageing in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the second half of the 20th century were primarily trends in fertility rates and secondarily trends in mortality rates. The economic growth of Bosnia and Herzegovina after World War II conditioned changes in the economic and educational structure of the population and with that the changes in the natural increase rates and migration balance. The war was the main cause of negative demographic changes in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the period from 1992 to 1995, and the post-war adverse socioeconomic, political and other circumstances have been the cause of negative demographic trends after 1995. The aim of this paper is to determine the level of population ageing in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the consequences this process could have on the demographic future of this country.

Industrial tourism as a chance for the diversification of the tourism of the Pécs-Mecsek region
Réka Pintér, János Csapó, 2016, original scientific article

Abstract: The present article intends to reveal the industrial tourism potential of the Pécs-Mecsek region in Hungary where we believe there is an adequate potential of the present industrial heritage but only a limited or rather poor utilisation is realised in the research area in this respect. The possible utilisation of the industrial heritage would be useful since the area is facing a stagnating tourism industry and position losses in the latter period so the authors believe that the chance for the renewal of tourism product development could also be provided by the industrial heritage tourism in the analysed region.

Katarína Danielová, Viliam Lauko, 2016, original scientific article

Abstract: The article focuses on the gap between women education and their career. Women’s education has significantly increased in a few last years, but their position on the labour market has been more difficult in comparison with men. The share of economical active women and also the share of working women with higher education have been growing till the present time. However, it is questionable how do women use their higher education in career or whether they can build even some career. We have used the data from Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic and some problems have been presented in the area of Slovakia on the level of regions (kraje).
