The relation between project team conflict and user resistance in software projects
Simon Vrhovec, Blaž Markelj, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This study aims to explore the relation between conflict in the project team and user resistance to change in software projects. Following a cross-sectional research design, a survey was conducted among 1,000 largest companies in Slovenia (N = 114). The results of PLSSEM analysis indicate that task and process conflicts in the project team are associated with user resistance. This study is among the first to associate conflict within the project team and user resistance in the implementing organization. It is also one of the first studies to investigate the relations between different types of conflict and user resistance. Project managers may invest resources into adequately managing conflicts within the project team related to tasks in which the project team interacts with users of developed software to lower user resistance. Project with poorly defined roles (e.g., agile and information security projects) may be more prone to user resistance than projects with clearly defined roles.

Different deeds, different needs - Types of violence against women and social support sought online
Tinkara Pavšič Mrevlje, Vanja Erčulj, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Women, as victims of violence, among which intimate partner violence prevails, venture online to seek a supportive community. Members of online support groups differ in the experiences and needs they have and support they seek. The objective of this research was to explore the difference in types of support sought and support received between women who self-report having been a witness/victim of violence and others who directly ask for help without explaining their circumstances. For this purpose, content analysis of 600 randomly selected starting posts from an online support community was performed. The results reveal an association between the needs expressed and the experience of violence described. Although users most frequently sought informational support, those recounting sexual violence more often asked for emotional support or were looking for an emotional release. Posts describing a different kind of violence were more likely to bring more support than short posts directly asking for help. The findings are important since women in a violent relationship tend to become more isolated or controlled by their partners, pointing to the crucial role of online support in helping and encouraging those women to take the first step in seeking help from formal institutions.

Balancing software and training requirements for information security
Damjan Fujs, Simon Vrhovec, Damjan Vavpotič, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Information security is one of the key areas of consideration to assure reliable and dependable information systems (IS). Achieving an appropriate level of IS security requires concurrent consideration of the technical aspects of IS and the human aspects related to the end users of IS. These aspects can be described in the form of information security requirements. We propose an approach that helps select and balance information security software requirements (iSSR) and information security training requirements (iSTR) according to the information security performance of end users. The approach was tested in an experiment involving 128 IS professionals. The results showed that using the proposed approach helps IS professionals with limited experience in information security make significantly better decisions regarding iSSR and iSTR.

Načrt integritete kot odraz integritete organizacij v Sloveniji
Jasna Fedran, Matevž Bren, Brane Ažman, Bojan Dobovšek, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Namen prispevka: Slovenija je v okviru protikorupcijskega zakona leta 2010 sprejela določbo, s katero javnim organizacijam oziroma institucijam javnega sektorja (v nadaljevanju: zavezanci) nalaga dolžnost sprejetja oziroma obveznost izdelave lastnih načrtov integritete (implementacija načrtov integritete v Sloveniji).

Fenomenologija in etiologija ekološke kriminalitete oboroženih sil v ekološki kriminologiji še nista povsem raziskani. Oborožene sile so strukturni del ekonomsko- politične organiziranosti države, ki pogojuje delovanje oboroženih sil. Mirnodobne dejavnosti oboroženih sil so običajno sistemske in zakonite, čeprav ogrožajo okolje.

Opis: The stay-at-home restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19 led to unparalleled sudden change in daily life, but it is unclear how they affected urban crime globally. We collected data on daily counts of crime in 27 cities across 23 countries in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. We conducted interrupted time series analyses to assess the impact of stay-at-home restrictions on different types of crime in each city. Our findings show that the stay-at-home policies were associated with a considerable drop in urban crime, but with substantial variation across cities and types of crime. Meta-regression results showed that more stringent restrictions over movement in public space were predictive of larger declines in crime.

Internal and external drivers for compliance with the COVID-19 preventive measures in Slovenia : The view from general deterrence and protection motivation
Anže Mihelič, Luka Jelovčan, Kaja Prislan Mihelič, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The emergence of a pandemic is usually accompanied by different measures-economic, social, preventive, and (self)protective. In the case of the COVID-19, several preventive measures were formally enforced by state authorities in the majority of countries worldwide. Thus, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the intertwining of formal and informal social control could be observed. Hence, in this study a cross-sectional design was chosen to explore the issue in Slovenia. To the best of our knowledge, this research is the first in the current literature to empirically test the general deterrence theory in pandemic circumstances (as external factors predicting individuals' compliance with the COVID-19 preventive measures). The results suggest an important role of informal punishment, with perceived informal severity being the only statistically significant factor from the general deterrence theory. In contrast to external factors, internal factors play a significantly greater role in promoting people's self-protective behavior in pandemic circumstances. During the unknown, the uncertain and delicate situations with which people have no previous experience, both personal beliefs about the effectiveness of measures and perceived self-efficacy are more important than fear of formal sanctions.

Italian dictionaries of abbreviations and the preparation of entries of the Italian-Slovene dictionary of abbreviations
Mojca Kompara Lukančič, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The present article addresses the two contemporary Italian dictionaries of abbrevia-tions Malossini (1999) and Righini (2001) and outlines the position of the Italian abbreviations in some other Italian dictionaries, namely the monolingual Zingarelli (2000) and Garzanti (2021) and bilingual Slovene-Italian (Šlenc 2006) and Italian-Slovene (Šlenc 1997). The aim of the paper is to give an insight into the compilation of the abbreviation dictionary entries in monolingual Italian, bilingual in tandem with the Slovene language and specialised abbreviation dictionaries; highlight the elements present within the dictionary entries; present the deficiencies in compiling and exam-ples of good practice; with the aim of introducing the outcomes in the compilation of the bilingual Italian-Slovene dictionary entries of the Slovene Contemporary Dictionary of Abbreviations. Within the paper we present the composition of the bilingual dictionary entries giving the reader an insight into the elements of the dictionary entry, namely the usage of language and field qualifi-ers, articulated prepositions, i.e. preposizioni articolate (composed of prepositions and definite articles), official translations and additional descriptions.
