Nonlinear semi-numeric and finite element analysis of three-point bending tests of notched polymer fiber-reinforced concrete prisms

Opis: A nonlinear semi-numeric and finite element analysis of three-point bending tests of notched polymer fiber-reinforced concrete prisms was performed. The computational and experimental results were compared in terms of the load-displacement behavior. The vertical midspan displacement and the crack mouth opening displacement results were considered. The nonlinear semi-numeric computational procedure involved the moment-curvature relation, calculated by considering the constitutive material law from the fib Model Code for Concrete Structures 2010, and considered a plastic hinge mechanism to simulate the cracked region behavior. Two sets of tensile mechanical properties were considered for the constitutive material law: back-calculated (by an inverse analysis) tensile strength properties from the experimental results, and tensile strength properties calculated by simplified expressions from the fib Model Code for Concrete Structures 2010. Other mechanical properties were determined by additional compressive tests and standard relations for the dependency of various mechanical properties on the concrete compressive strength. The nonlinear finite element analysis incorporated the Menetrey-Willam material model to simulate the fiber-reinforced concrete behavior. The nonlinear semi-numeric analysis load-displacement results based on the back-calculated tensile strength properties relatively accurately matched with the experimental results, whereas the nonlinear semi-numeric analysis load-displacement results based on tensile strength properties calculated by simplified expressions from the fib Model Code for Concrete Structures 2010 and the nonlinear finite element analysis load-displacement results showed certain shortcomings.

Statična in dinamična analiza jeklenega visečega mostu v Renkah : magistrsko delo

Opis: Magistrska naloga obravnava statično in dinamično analizo mostu Renke, ki je bil zgrajen leta 1991 z namenom omogočanja prehoda ljudi iz naselja do železniške postaje na nasprotni strani reke Save. Danes so na mostu vidne poškodbe, vključno s preperelimi deskami, odpadanjem barve in rjavečimi jeklenimi elementi, ki so posledica pomanjkanja rednega vzdrževanja. Analiza mostu je narejena s pomočjo programa SCIA Engineer, z uporabo linearne in nelinearne teorije. Pri analizi so upoštevani standardi iz družine Evrokod 1, 2, 3, 7 in 8. Preverjeni so tako jeklena konstrukcija mostu kot tudi betonski temelji. Most je opisan kot viseči most, pri čemer se glavna jeklenica naslanja na dva pilona, ki sta postavljena na obeh straneh mostu in sta zasnovana v obliki črke A. Glavna jeklenica je sidrana v zaledje s težnostnim zidom in geotehničnimi sidri. Širina mostu znaša 1,62 m, glavni razpon meri 72 m, stranska razpona pa 15 m in 10 m. Na glavno jeklenico so simetrično pritrjene vešalke, ki zagotavljajo oporo glavnemu L-nosilcu in horizontalnemu povezju s hrastovimi deskami. Glavni cilj magistrske naloge je primerjava rezultatov analize mostu Renke med standardom JUS in sodobnim evropskim standardom Evrokod. Analiza kaže, da Evrokod v nekaterih primerih prinaša bistveno drugačne rezultate od standarda JUS, deloma tudi zaradi uporabe različnih materialnih parametrov. Ta primerjava omogoča boljše razumevanje vpliva standardov na varnost in zmogljivost mostu ter poudarja pomen uporabe aktualnih standardov pri načrtovanju in vzdrževanju infrastrukture.

Umirjanje prometa na začetku naselij : magistrsko delo

Opis: V magistrskem delu je obravnavana problematika prehodnega območja vstopa v naselje, kjer cesta zunaj naselja prehaja v pozidano okolje ob cesti ali v območje, ki ga določajo meje naselja. Osnovni namen ureditve vstopa v naselje je voznika opozoriti o spremembi okolja ter ga spodbuditi k ustrezni prilagoditvi hitrosti, saj se z vstopom v naselje običajno spremenijo prometne razmere (npr. večja količina nemotoriziranih udeležencev v prometu). V magistrskem delu je podan pregled trenutne zakonodaje v Sloveniji in tujini, ki se nanaša na umirjanje prometa. V nadaljevanju je v sklopu magistrskega dela proučena in analizirana obstoječa projektna dokumentacija ter že izvedeni ukrepi na območjih vstopov v naselja. Na podlagi ugotovitev so predlagane tipske rešitve ureditve vstopov v naselja, ki se lahko uporabijo v danih situacijah. Predlagane rešitve so zasnovane z namenom zmanjšanja tveganja za nastanek prometnih nesreč in povečanja varnosti vseh udeležencev v prometu. Upoštevane so smernice, ki jih določa zakonodaja glede prometne varnosti, z namenom, da bi ureditve čim bolj učinkovito prispevale k varnemu in nemotenemu prehodu vozil v naselje.

Postopek uporabe brezpilotnikov v prometnem sistemu : magistrsko delo

Opis: To delo podaja osnovne napotke glede postopkov uporabe brezpilotnikov. Vsebuje podatke o veljavni evropski in slovenski zakonodaji na tem področju. Opisuje tudi vpeljavo konkretnega postopka vpeljave uporabe brezpilotnikov v poslovni proces podjetja. Delo je hkrati primer za zakonito uporabo brezpilotnikov. V delu je prepoznano problematično področje uporabe, ki ga delo poskuša rešiti s konkretnim primerom zakonitega pristopa uporabe brezpilotnikov, ki je v delu predstavljena kot raziskovalno delo s praktičnim primerom. Ugotovljeno je, da je zakonita pot uporabe brezpilotnikov možna in jasna, vendar za številna podjetja nesprejemljiva zaradi zahtevnega postopka upravljanja brezpilotnih sistemov.

Innovative structural systems for timber buildings : A comprehensive review of contemporary solutions

Opis: The remarkable development of timber construction technologies in recent decades has led to an increase in the number of timber buildings worldwide, including multi-storey buildings. The design of timber buildings, especially those of greater height, is relatively demanding and, even in the context of architectural expression, has certain constraints due to the specific structural and physical properties of this material. Thus, it is important for designers to have an overview of existing timber structural systems and their specificities to be able to make the right design decisions during the design process. Unfortunately, there is a lack of scientific literature that systematically addresses the essential features of contemporary timber structural systems. Within the aims of this paper to provide the systematic review of contemporary structural systems, both the scientific and professional literature are comprehensively reviewed. This paper presents a systematic classification and description of the following structural systems of timber buildings: all-timber and hybrid timber structural systems with an additional description of constituent structural elements, while examples of completed multi-storey timber buildings are also given for each structural system. The findings provide a broader view of the knowledge of contemporary solutions of timber structural systems and their application, thus representing a novelty in the field of timber construction review.

Impact of transport trends on sustainability in the Western Balkans : a future-oriented business sector perspective

Opis: Abstract This study examines the impact of emerging transport trends on the Western Balkans and their potential to improve the sustainability and efficiency of the transport sector in the region. In the context of global efforts to reduce environmental impacts and improve transport safety, the study aims to better understand the perspective of the business sector in order to align strategic planning for the introduction of new transport technologies and practices with the expectations of the business sector. Using a questionnaire-based survey on the Mentimeter platform, the study gathers insights from 49 transport and logistics experts. The analysis uses violin plots and heat maps to visualise the expected impact of the identified trends. The results show a consensus among the experts that the emerging trends are likely to lead to a reduction in accidents, congestion, and emissions, while at the same time increasing operating costs and investment in infrastructure. In particular, trends such as alternative fuels, electrification, and smart city initiatives are highlighted as important drivers for reducing emissions. The study concludes that while these trends are likely to lead to the achievement of environmental and safety goals, they also lead to economic challenges as operating costs increase and significant infrastructure investment is required. The study emphasises the need for strategic investment, policy adjustments, and capacity building to lead the Western Balkans towards a sustainable transport future.

Suggestions and solutions for enhancing active commuting to the University of Maribor and advancing ▫$CO_2$▫ emission reduction

Opis: This study investigated commuting behavior at four technical faculties (BCTF) in Maribor. The main aim was to provide suggestions and solutions for challenges related to active commuting to the BCTF, while promoting advancements in CO2 emission reduction. The research methodology was based on analyses of a questionnaire survey and calculations of CO2 emissions. The results indicate that implementing measures to promote walking, bicycling and the use of city and regional public transport, in conjunction with supportive housing and parking policies, has the potential to eliminate car trips within 0–1 km of the BCTF and reduce car trips from other zones in favor of active commuting by 30% to 50%. These proposed transport scenarios could lead to an annual reduction in CO2 emissions ranging from 17% to 29%. The greatest potential for CO2 savings is observed within 0–5 km of the BCTF, where a shift to walking and bicycling could reduce emissions by up to 44%. The results also highlighted a notable disparity, indicating that students with term-time accommodations emitted 3.5 times and 4.1 times less annual CO2 within 0–5 km of the BCTF compared to students and staff commuting daily from their permanent residences in the city.

Vizualizacija na gradbišču s pomočjo BIM in razširjene resničnosti : magistrsko delo

Opis: V zadnjem letu je veliko govora o BIM pristopu v gradbeništvu v Sloveniji, saj bo ta kmalu zakonsko obvezen (po GZ-1) za vse projekte financirane z javnimi sredstvi, in sicer od 1. januarja 2025. V tujini, v posameznih državah, je BIM pristop že nekaj let v stalni uporabi v praksi, zaradi boljšega razumevanja in upravljanja gradbenih procesov. Pri nas pa smo se začeli zavedati pomena in prednosti BIM pristopa v zadnjih nekaj letih, predvsem zaradi mednarodnih smernic, evropskih projektov in strategij ter vedno večjega poudarka na digitalizaciji. Vedno večji pomen na gradbišču ima tudi razširjena resničnost (extended reality), ki zajema VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality) in MR (mixed reality), saj predvsem slednji dve omogoča interaktivno vizualizacijo na gradbiščih, kar vpliva na izboljšanje produktivnosti, kakovosti in varnosti gradbenih projektov. V magistrskem delu smo za vizualno spremljanje skladnosti načrtov oziroma BIM modela z dejanskim stanjem na gradbišču uporabili čelado Trimble XR10 z vizirjem HoloLens 2, ki sta jo razvili podjetji Trimble in Microsoft za gradbeno industrijo. Primerjali smo tudi prednosti in slabosti tradicionalnega pristopa v primerjavi z naprednim pristopom, ki vključuje uporabo BIM in MR.

Daljinsko vodenje prometa vlakov na odseku proge Zidani Most-Šentilj : diplomsko delo

Opis: V Sloveniji poznamo različne načine vodenja prometa vlakov na železniškem omrežju. V največji meri prevladuje krajevno vodenje, kjer so železniške postaje zasedene s prometnim osebjem. V diplomskem delu je analizirana obstoječa proga Zidani Most–Šentilj z vidika vodenja prometa. Proga Zidani Most–Šentilj je v večini vodena krajevno, za zagotovitev daljinskega vodenja iz centra je potrebna nadgradnja prog in postaj. Analizirane so prednosti in slabosti uvedbe daljinskega vodenja iz centra vodenja prometa. Ugotovili smo, da ukrepi za uvedbo daljinskega vodenja in vključitev daljinskega vodenja prometa vlakov iz centra povečuje varnost potnikov v železniškem prometu, prispeva k zanesljivejšemu delovanju, k zmanjšanju zaposlenih v vodenju prometa ter omogoča večjo prepustnost in zmogljivost proge Zidani Most–Šentilj.

Novel ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) enhanced by superhydrophobic and self-luminescent features

Opis: This study explores the potential of using basalt reinforced UHPC by incorporating simultaneously self-cleaning and self-luminescent features, paving the way for sustainable advancements in civil engineering. New green formulations of UHPC were developed by integrating supplementary cementitious materials and optimizing water to the binder ratio, followed by using basalt fibers to enhance strength and ductility. The fabricated samples with high particle-packing density exhibit sufficient workability and compressive strength up to 136 MPa, and, when incorporating basalt fibers, a notable reduction in brittleness. The inner microstructure of basalt fibers was observed to be smooth, homogeneously distributed, and well adhered to the UHPC matrix. To ensure the desired long-lasting visual appearance of decorative UHPC and reduce future maintenance costs, a time-effective strategy for creating a light-emitting biomimetic surface design was introduced. The samples exhibit high surface roughness, characterized by micro to nano-scale voids, displaying superhydrophobicity with contact angles reaching up to 155.45°. This is accompanied by roll-off angles decreasing to 7.1°, highlighting their self-cleaning features. The self-luminescence feature showcased intense initial light emission, offering a potential energy-efficient nighttime lighting solutio
