1. Working conditions and satisfaction with working conditions among Slovenian family medicine trainees : a cross-sectional studyKlemen Pašić, Vojislav Ivetić, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Introduction: In order to achieve a high standard in training programmes for future family medicine specialists, it is essential to have good tutors with well-organised family medicine practices. Proper working conditions for young doctors are essential for their satisfaction and future professional development. The aim of our study was to check the current working conditions of family medicine trainees in the practical modular part of the training programme in Slovenia, and to determine their satisfaction with working conditions.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted. The data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to 105 family medicine trainees undergoing the practical modular part of their training programme.
Results: The study showed that the following 7 out of 25 organisational and labour law factors are significantly associated with a trainee's general satisfaction with working conditions: the location where work with patients takes place, the privacy of the premises, the accessibility of the main tutor, a constant patient population, suitable places for rest, paid out-of-hours substitutions, and appropriate pay grade.
Conclusion: The results we obtained can be used to address certain aspects of trainee's working conditions in Slovenia that need improvement. By determining which working conditions significantly affect a trainee's satisfaction, we have the opportunity to modify these conditions and thereby improve the training programme. This could result in a less stressful and more efficient residency programme. 3. The impact of digital technologies and digitalization on labour law : the case of SloveniaMitja Stefancic, Elizabeta Zirnstein, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Building on research focusing on the impact of digital technologies on the labour market, this paper provides an interpretation of major findings by reference to labour law in Slovenia. It is argued that the existing labour law in Slovenia does a reasonable job in dealing with the changes we are witnessing in digital economy. However, the problem is in the implementation of workers rights in practice. The workers are not taking action to enforce their legal rights as much as one could expect. In addition to this, employers do not put enough attention to the challenges that digitalisation brings in the field of health at work and in the field of workers% skills. Therefore, the Slovene government should embark upon a system of reforms to improve the promptness of courts in labour disputes. It should also appoint more labour inspectors. At the same time, employers should adopt practical solutions regarding the organisation of working process with aim to diminish the negative impacts of digitalisation on health at work. Furthermore, the employers should put more attention to the development of workers skills, especially those which, according to theory, will be crucial in the future. 4. Strategies and programs for managing stress in work settingsSonja Treven, 2005, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In the paper the author first defines the term stress as well as presents the economic consequences of stress. Then she describes the factors within the work environment and the factors without the work environment that may cause stress. In particular, she examines the individual differences that influence our inclination to stressors and also how to manage them efficiently. Besides, the strategies and programs developed in organizations as an assistance to their employees for easier stress control are discussed widely as well. 5. Similarities and differences of health-promoting leadership and transformational leadershipAnita Dunkl, Paul Jiménez, Simona Šarotar Žižek, Borut Milfelner, Wolfgang Kallus, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The concept of health-promoting leadership focuses on the interaction between the organization and the individual by identifying components able to positively influence employees’ working conditions. In the present study, the effects of health-promoting leadership and transformational leadership on the employees’ recovery–stress balance are investigated. In an online study, 212 Slovenian workers were asked about their perceptions of their direct supervisors and their work-related stress and recovery. The results showed that both leadership styles have a significant effect on employees’ recovery at the workplace, which mediated the relationship between leadership and work-related stress. 6. A new method for determining extra time by considering ergonomic loads in the garment and metal working industriesVekoslav Verhovnik, Andrej Polajnar, 1993, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The changing labour conditions in the garment and metal-working industries have led to the necessity of determining new extra times to establish the time standard. In this paper, a method of measuring stress and strain imposed upon the operator in new working conditions by determining the additional production coefficient is presented. The method gives criteria and grades to assess stress at the workplace. Physical stress (dynamic and static), thermal and visual stress, discomfort caused by noise, aerosols, gases and vapours, and the stress due to monotony are assessed. The stresses are expressed by ecological, physiological and psychological indexes. The indexes are pondered. Ponderation includes the factor of the magnitude and the time of exposure to stress. Ponderation is expressed by the number of points, the total being an adequate presentation of the stresses. Stress and strain decrease the working performance of the operator. Therefore they must be included in the standard to compensate for the operator's lower working efficiency due to physical and psychological strain at the workplace, Short breaks and stops allowed during work enable the operator to perform work tasks without getting excessively tired. The necessary correction of the production time is made by applying the ergonomic coefficient Ker.
