1. Supply chain integrity : addressing ethical concerns in agricultural supply chainsPaul Mukucha, Thulani Dube, Divaries Cosmas Jaravaza, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Ethics has become a trending phenomenon in most disciplines as a result of the sustainability wave enshrined in the United Nations Sustainability Goals (SDGs). In business circles procurement ethics have become topical as a result of the rising malpractices whose ripple effects have far reaching economic, social and environmental consequences. In the agricultural supply chains procurement ethics have been called to question due to outcries from the tobacco contract farmers whose livelihoods are affected by supplier development washing in the form of exorbitantly priced contract farming inputs. The unethical practice of supplier development washing in the form of exorbitantly priced tobacco contract farming inputs has some ripple effects which this study sought to determine. Twenty-five contracted tobacco farmers were interviewed and the results indicated that farmers subjected to tobacco merchants’ unethical conduct tend to practice contractor switching, side marketing, become insolvent, and indulge in unorthodox cost cutting measures. The study recommended that the regulatory authorities should intervene to bring sanity to the tobacco supply chains through enforcing contract farming mechanisms that reflect genuine supplier development. 4. Integrating generative language models in lesson planning : a case studyDaša Berglez, Maja Kerneža, 2024, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: The study explores artificial intelligence (AI) as a supportive technology in the lesson planning process of teachers, focusing on generative language models like ChatGPT. It evaluates the impact of AI on teaching strategies by comparing control and experimental groups of pre-service teachers interacting with the ChatGPT model. The aim was to create a lesson in metaphorical creativity and to understand the adaptability and effectiveness in lesson creation. Findings reveal no significant differences in pedagogical outcomes between groups, indicating that while AI offers innovative approaches, it doesn’t fundamentally alter teaching effectiveness. The study It points out the potential and challenges of AI in education, advocating for further exploration to maximize its benefits and address ethical implications. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on leveraging AI to enrich educational practices and emphasizes the critical role of educators in adapting AI tools for teaching. 5. Bridging the gap : understanding teacher perspectives on humanoid robots in educationDejan Zemljak, Maja Kerneža, 2024, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: This study explores the readiness of 233 teachers, comprising 124 in-service teachers from diverse Slovenian schools and 109 pre-service teachers from two faculties, to integrate humanoid robots - defined as robots with human-like features and capabilities - into educational settings. By evaluating attitudes, along with perceived benefits such as challenges including technological accessibility and ethical concerns, the study assesses readiness across teaching status (in-service vs- pre-service) and levels (primary vs. secondary). Utilizing Mann-Whitney U test and two-way ANOVA, findings reveal moderate readiness without significant differences between groups, but a wide range of individual attitudes. The results suggest the necessity of further research to explore the link between perceived readiness and effective integration strategies, including the development of ethical guidelines and support mechanisms for teachers. This contribution highlights the importance of a collaborative approach to integrate humanoid robots responsibly and effectively into educational environments. 8. Teacher opinion about using problem-based learning in technology and engineering educationLara Voler, Andrej Flogie, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: A school for the 21st century requires innovative approaches to learning and teaching. The presented research investigates the current state of innovative teaching methods, particularly problem-based learning (PBL), among teachers of the subject Technology and Engineering (TE) in Slovenian lower secondary schools. The main aim of the research was to determine the attitude towards such innovative teaching approaches, how often innovative teaching methods are used, how teachers perceive their importance, and finally, according to the teachers, how they are qualified for this. In the research, an appropriate questionnaire for teachers is developed. Qualitative and quantitative research was conducted using an online survey and statistical data processing. The online survey results showed that teachers positively assess the importance of using PBL, which is perceived as a more challenging method than traditional teaching methods. Despite numerous challenges, teachers express high motivation to improve their teaching practices. Based on the data obtained, it is found that teachers' knowledge is assessed less positively than their competence assessment, which indicates the need for more accurate methods of evaluating knowledge and emphasizes the importance of continuous professional development. The research findings could be important for improving teaching practices and promoting innovations in the educational process. High motivation and readiness of teachers to accept innovative pedagogical approaches can contribute to a better learning environment and the development of a more competent teacher in the future.
