Ergonomic design recommendations based on an actual chainsaw design
Jasmin Kaljun, Bojan Dolšak, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: To develop high quality products, a designer has to consider various influential factors, one of which is ergonomics. And to fashion a specific product for the user, a designer needs expert knowledge of the user's requirements. However, expert knowledge can also be accessed through an intelligent advisory system for ergonomic design support. The effectiveness of such an expert system depends mainly on the quality of the knowledge base and on the appropriateness of the system's inference engine. Data for the systemćs knowledge base can be collected in different ways. One approach is to study relevant projects to collect appropriate ergonomic solutions; another is to recognise bottlenecks in ergonomic design. This paper presents a case study of the design of an actual chainsaw - with emphasison ergonomic design solutions - that can be transformed into ergonomic design recommendations. At the end of the paper, an application of one of the derived recommendations within the knowledge base of the intelligent advisory system is presented.

Computer aided decision support in product design engineering
Marina Novak, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Product design engineering is a complex discipline, which is undergoing a transformation from informal and largely experience-based domain to scientific oriented domain. Computational intelligence can contribute greatly to product design process, as it is becoming more and more evident that adding intelligence to existing computer aids, such as computer aided design systems, can lead to significant improvements in terms of effectiveness and reliability of various tasks within product design engineering. Providing computer aided decision support is one of the computational intelligence methods that proved to be effective in enabling more intelligent and less experience-dependent design performance. In this paper, some of the most crucial areas of product design engineering process that require additional computational intelligence in terms of computer aided decision support are presented together with some examples of intelligent knowledge-based modules applied to this areas.

Improving products' ergonomic value using intelligent decision support system
Jasmin Kaljun, Bojan Dolšak, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: During the process of defining suitable design solutions, a designer has to consider a wide range of influential factors. Ergonomics certainly belongs to more complex ones. Less experienced designers could encounter several problems during this design stage. Although some literature can be found about ergonomic design of hand tools, a designer still has to have amassed quite a lot of experience and knowledge in the field of ergonomic, in order to choose and carry out appropriate design and redesign actions. Existing computer tools for ergonomic design are not able to assist a designer with higher level advice within design process. An intelligent decision support system has been developed in order to overcome this bottleneck. This paper presents a knowledge base, containing ergonomic design knowledge specific for hand tools design. A pneumatic hammer handle design is used as a case study to show how ergonomic design knowledge built in the system is used to improve the ergonomic value of the product.

Gastric banding outcomes are better if patients participate in the support group
Brane Breznikar, Dejan Dinevski, Gregor Kunst, Barbara Rožej, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Introduction: We analyzed our first five years of performing gastric bandings. We monitored weight reduction in patients with regard to their participation in the support group. Based on our experience, gastric banding is successful only with thorough assessment and treatment before surgery, as well as methodical, professional support after it. Those who participated in the support group more often had a greater weight reduction than those who were present less frequently. Patients and methods: We performed 264 gastric bandings between May 2005 and May 2010 (66.5% of all bariatric procedures). Onaverage, patients were 41.0 years old and had a BMI of 42.4 kg/m2. There were 224 female (84.8%) and 40 male patients (15.2%). We followed 192 patientsfor more than one year. 155 patients (80.7%) were evaluated with BAROS. We excluded patients with hormonal disorders and other pathologies preoperatively. Because gastric banding is not suitable for every patient, we made a thorough psychological evaluation of the patients before the procedure. We offered preoperative and postoperative psychological and dietary support when needed. Results: Patients lost on average 23.4 kg, 31.4 kg and 33.7 kg after the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, respectively (EWL average of 50.3%, 65.6% and 69.8%, respectively). We monitored the resolution of comorbidities and complications. Both the "comorbidity" and "without comorbidity" groups achieved a grade of "good" on the BAROS quality of life scale (4.85 and 2.64 respectively). Given the Pearson coefficient of r = 0.58 (p < 0.001), we concluded that there is a "moderate to strong" correlation between the number of visits in the support group and EWL. Conclusions: Weight reduction is greater when patients participate in the support group after bariatric surgery.

Comparative analysis of collaborative and simulation based learning in the management environment
Mirjana Kljajić Borštnar, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Purpose of the study is to compare two different approaches to the collaborative problem solving one in a highly controlled laboratory experiment: Optimisation of business politics using business simulator at different experimental condition which reflect different feedback information structure and one in a collaborative environment of the social media, characterised by non-structured, rule-free and even chaotic feedback information. Comparative analyses of participant’s opinion who participate in experiments have been considered in order to find common characteristics relevant for group/collaborative problem solving. Based on these findings a general explanatory causal loop model of collaborative learning during problem solving was built.

The impact of market knowledge and institutional incentives on the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovenia
Nuša Basle, 2015, magistrsko delo

Opis: The internationalization of firms is an important part of globalization. Firms are looking for their opportunities in foreign markets. For this reason, they need to have specific market knowledge. They can create it themselves by primary market research and/or gain it from available secondary sources. Companies need to be aware that market knowledge is crucial for the internationalization process. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are the most valuable part of both European and Slovenian economy. SMEs substantially contribute to economic growth and job creation and are considered the present and future backbone of the European and Slovenian economy. Because of the importance of SMEs, various programs and mechanisms for SMEs support were developed at the level of the European Union (EU) and Slovenia. These constitute Institutional Support and contain, among other things, financial and non-financial mechanisms to support the internationalization of SMEs.

PRVA POMOČ PRI CRUSH IN BLAST POŠKODBAH
Denis Vajda, 2015, diplomsko delo

Opis: Teoretična izhodišča: V diplomskem delu smo obravnavali tematiko crush in blast poškodb. Opisali smo nastanek tovrstnih poškodb ter postopek obravnave in nudenje prve pomoči. Metodologija: V teoretičnem delu diplomskega dela smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo raziskovanja. S pomočjo domače in tuje znanstvene in strokovne literature smo preučili obravnavan problem in predstavili znanstvena spoznanja. V empiričnem delu diplomskega dela smo uporabili kvantitativno metodo raziskovanja. Pri obravnavi poškodovanih ekipa NMP upošteva International trauma life support (ITLS) standarde in navodila.
