Impact energy analysis of quenched and tempered fine grain structural steel specimens after weld thermal cycle simulation
Marko Dunđer, Tomaž Vuherer, Ivan Samardžić, 2014, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The paper presents impact energy results of thermal cycle simulated specimens of quenched and tempered fine grain structural steel S960QL. These results are obtained by examining notched Charpy specimens. Upon performed metallographic analysis and measured hardness, total impact energy is separated into ductile and brittle components.

Dependence of hardness and impact energy on cooling time Δt8/5 and temperature for S960QL
Ivan Samardžić, Marko Dunđer, Tomaž Vuherer, 2014, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The paper deals with research into dependence of hardness and impact energy of thermal cycle simulated specimens of fine-grained structural steel S960QL on cooling time from 800 to 500 °C and on tested temperature. Results were obtained by measuring hardness of HV 10 and by experimental testing of Charpy notched tubes on instrumented Charpy hammer. Total impact energy, initiation energy and fracture propagation energy needed for occurrence of fracture is also elaborated.

Buckling behavior of cold-formed studs with thermal perforations
Marsel Garifullin, Alexey Sinelnikov, Maria Bronzova, Boštjan Kovačič, Rok Kamnik, 2016, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci

Opis: Studies have shown that the optimal structural scheme for low-rise buildings that meets all regulatory requirements is a frame system. In this connection, thin-walled cold-formed steel (CFS) profiles seem to be the best material for constructing light steel framed (LSF) walls. The framework of LSF walls is usually constructed from CFS C-shaped profiles. To increase the thermal effectiveness of a wall, CFS profiles usually have thermal perforations and thus are called thermoprofiles. However, these openings have a negative impact on bearing capacity of profiles and require accurate evaluation. In this article a relatively new reticular-stretched thermoprofile with diamond-shaped openings is considered. The article deals with the buckling analysis of perforated CFS C-sections subjected to compression.

Distortion of the substructure of a 20-ft shipping container exposed to zinc hot-dip galvanizing
Ivana Ivanović, Aleksandar Sedmak, Rebeka Rudolf, Leo Gusel, Biljana Grujić, 2013, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The main goal of this study was to build a model for a numerical simulation of hot-dip galvanizing of a 20-ft ISO shipping container. For that purpose, the basic transient thermo-mechanical problem of a steel structure under the influence of the temperature characteristic for a zinc hot-dip galvanizing bath was analyzed. Numerical calculations were performed for a simple part and for the complex substructure of the container. Calculations were carried out on the Salome-Meca platform using a Netgen mesh generator and a Code_Asterfinite-element solver.

Suspectibility to hydrogen induced cracking of weld beads on high-strength structural steel
Jadranka Malina, Ivan Samardžić, Vladimir Gliha, 2005, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: We study the hydrogen embrittlement and rupture of specimens of high-strength low-alloy steel with weld beads subjected to hydrogenation under the conditions of cathodic polarization. The specimens fail in the heat-affected zone on the boundary between the main metal and the weld bead in the zone of application of the latter and, especially, near its end. This explained by a higher hardness of the metal in this zone caused by the specific features of the temperature field formed in the process of welding.
