Factors affecting tourism activity selection among silver hair tourists

Opis: Demographic changes are visible in many areas of life, including tourism. Silver hair tourism is on the rise and this target group is becoming an increasingly important segment of the tourism market. The market for silver hair tourists is growing. They have high purchasing power, relatively higher than younger groups. Therefore, tourism needs to respond to new demographic challenges in society, such as population aging and active longevity, with new types and forms of tourism. The travel experience of silver hair tourists also has a significant impact on the quality and satisfaction of life in general. In many ways it adds value in the life of elderly adults, in the field of well-being, gaining new experiences, learning, expanding the social network, improving health and much more. Therefore, knowing the demographic characteristics of silver hair tourists is all the more important and necessary for the creation of good tourist offers. Within this paper we have conducted a survey among silver hair tourists aged between 65 and 75 years inclusive. Data was collected in Multigenerational Centres across Slovenia with a paper-pencil survey. We obtained 405 valid questionnaires. In the analysis of empirical data, we looked for statistically significant differences in five socio-demographic and economic variables. We found statistically significant differences between men and women and between the age groups of silver hair tourists regarding the choice of tourism activities. In terms of demographic factors such as education, income and assessment of health status, we find a connection between tourism activities and demography. Travel raises the quality of life of ‘silver hair tourists,’ so it is important to offer them programs that will be more tailored to them. This article provides some answers that can help us create programmes like that.

Pullulan-based films impregnated with silver nanoparticles from the Fusarium culmorum strain JTW1 for potential applications in the food industry and medicine

Opis: Introduction: Biopolymers, such as pullulan, a natural exopolysaccharide from Aureobasidium pullulans, and their nanocomposites are commonly used in the food, pharmaceutical, and medical industries due to their unique physical and chemical properties. Methods: Pullulan was synthesized by the A. pullulans ATCC 201253 strain. Nanocomposite films based on biosynthesized pullulan were prepared and loaded with different concentrations of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesized by the Fusarium culmorum strain JTW1. AgNPs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, Zeta potential measurements, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. In turn, the produced films were subjected to physico-chemical analyses such as goniometry, UV shielding capacity, attenuated total reflection–Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and their mechanical and degradation properties were assessed. The antibacterial assays of the nanoparticles and the nanocomposite films against both food-borne and reference pathogens, including Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella infantis, Salmonella enterica, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae, were performed using standard methods. Results: AgNPs were small (mean 15.1 nm), spherical, and displayed good stability, being coated with protein biomolecules. When used in higher concentrations as an additive to pullulan films, they resulted in reduced hydrophilicity and light transmission for both UV-B and UV-A lights. Moreover, the produced films exhibited a smooth surface. Therefore, it can be concluded that the addition of biogenic AgNPs did not change the morphology and texture of the films compared to the control film. The nanoparticles and nanocomposite films demonstrated remarkable antibacterial activity against both food-borne and reference bacteria. The highest activity of the prepared films was observed against L. monocytogenes. Discussion: The obtained results suggest that the novel nanocomposite films prepared from biosynthesized pullulan and AgNPs can be considered for use in the development of medical products and food packaging. Moreover, this is the first report on pullulan-based nanocomposites with mycogenic AgNPs for such applications.

A silver/silver sulphide selective electrode prepared by means of chemical treatments of silver wire

Opis: The preparation and usability of a sulphide ion selective electrode, prepared by means of chemical pretreatment of silver wire with an ammonium perdisulphate solution, and the sulphidization in an alkaline sulphide solution are described. The electrode is suitable for direct potentiometric measuring of sulphide in alkaline solutions of concentrations down to ▫$1 X 10^{-6} mol/L$▫. The 45 min required for each chemical treatment are enough for the preparation of the described electrode.

Internal oxidation of silver alloys with tellurium, selenium and sulphur

Opis: Silver alloys with tellurium, selenium and sulphur fulfil the conditions for the internal oxidation. Microstructure of these alloys consists of matrix (dilute solid solution) and particles of intermetallic compounds. Internal oxidation of ternary alloys is very similar to that of the binary alloys, but there are also distinctions in thermodynamics properties of alloying elements. At the direct oxidation of the particles of the intermetallic compound the phenomena of the selective oxidation was observed. Concentration of more reactive elements is increasing in the oxidized part of the particles of the intermetallic compound (Te in AgTeSe alloys). Therefore the precipitated oxides formed with diffusional internal oxidation are richer with less reactive alloying element (Se in AgTeSe alloy). In the precipitated oxide particles the concentration of selenium is more than twice higher than of tellurium.

RAZVOJ ORODJA ZA CELOVITO UPRAVLJANJE TVEGANJ

Opis: Celovito upravljanje tveganj postaja eden ključnih gradnikov uspešnega vodenja organizacije, ne glede na njeno velikost ali panogo. Organizacije, ki so pri tem uspešnejše, dosegajo bistveno boljše poslovne rezultate. Vprašanje, kako vzpostaviti čim boljši sistem upravljanja tveganj in ga nato še sistemsko nadgrajevati, da postane res učinkovit, je izziv mnogim organizacijam. Predvsem se pojavljajo težave z ljudmi, procesi, ukrepi in podatki. Vse to z velikostjo organizacije tako narašča, da je smiselno obdelovanje teh dejavnikov eden ključnih problemov. Cilj moje raziskave je bil poiskati te pereče probleme in jih poskusiti rešiti oziroma omiliti z učinkovitim programskim orodjem za upravljanje tveganj. Dobre programske rešitve morajo reševati ali odpravljati probleme, ne pa ustvarjati novih. Ustvarjene so na podlagi povratnih informacij s strani uporabnikov. Za uspešno izvedbo je bilo treba najprej preučiti poznane metode, standarde in dobre prakse. Šele nato smo se lahko lotili analize stanja v Sloveniji in svetu ter prepoznavanja tipičnih, poznanih težav. Analiza teh težav omogoča iskanje možnih rešitev in njihov preizkus pri pravih uporabnikih. Z raziskavo je bilo identificiranih veliko težav, ki jih orodje za celovito upravljanje tveganj naslavlja, v bistvu pa le deloma odpravlja. Na koncu največjo dodano vrednost orodju dajejo funkcionalnosti, ki v sami zasnovi orodja sploh niso bile pomembne (npr. združevanje rezultatov več entitet), uporabniki pa prav v njih prepoznajo boljše rezultate zase in organizacijo, v kateri delujejo.

Binding silver nano-particles onto viscose non-woven using different commercial sol-gel procedures

Opis: The paper presents possible solution of Ag binding using commercial sol-gel systems which enable its low release into a wound, providing a good antimicrobial effect on those bacterial cultures that are most likely present in the wound. The influence of different sol-gel systems on the hydrophilic properties of carrier materials and the level of released silver has been studied. The results showed that sol-gel as binding-systems could provide proper hydrophilic properties of material, whilst binding silver strongly enough providing at the same time excellent antimicrobial activity of the treated viscose meterials.

Internal oxidation of Cu-C and Ag-C composites

Opis: The internal oxidation in copper-carbon and silver-carbon composites occurs when they are exposed to air or oxygen at high temperature. Solubility of carbon in copper or in silver is very low. The kinetics of oxidation at high temperature and activation energy were determined and the mechanism of internal oxidation was analysed. The kinetics of internal oxidation was determined for both cases and it is depended from the diffusion of oxygen following parabolic time dependence according to Wagner's theory. The activation energy for Cu-C composite is 70.5 kJ/mol, and for Ag-C composite is 50.1 kJ/mol, what is in both cases close to the activation energy for the volume diffusion of oxygen in copper or in silver. In both cases gas products are formed during the internal oxidation of composites. In the internal oxidation zone pores, bubbles occur. The carbon oxidates directly with the oxygen from solid solution as long there is a contact, which breaks down with the presence of gas products. Then the oxidation occurs over the gas mixture of CO and CO2.Pri visokih temperaturah kompoziti bakra in srebra z ogljikom na zraku ali v kisiku reagirajo po mehanizmu notranje oksidacije. Topnost ogljika v trdnem bakru in trdnem srebru je zelo majhna. Analizirali smo kinetiko oksidacije kompozitov, določili aktivacijsko energijo in mehanizem notranje oksidacije. Kinetika oksidacije je pri obeh skupinah materialov odvisna od difuzije kisika in sledi parabolični odvisnosti od časa v skladu z Wagnerjevo teorijo. Aktivacijska energija procesa je za kompozit Cu-C enaka 70,5 kJ/mol, za kompozit Ag-C pa 50,1 kJ/mol, kar je blizu aktivacijski energiji za volumsko difuzijo kisika v trdnem bakru oziroma srebru. Pri oksidaciji kompozita nastajajo plinski produkti. Oksidacija ogljika poteka neposredno s kisikom iz trdne raztopine, ko pa se zaradi nastanka plinske faze stik prekine, pa preko plinske zmesi CO in CO2.

SOCIALNOPOLITIČNE TEME V ROCK GLASBI S POUDARKOM NA U2 PESMIH

Opis: Od druge polovice 60-tih let naprej, s pričetkom razvoja rock glasbe, so bile v rock glasbi ustvarjene številne socialnopolitično obarvane pesmi, v katerih so se znameniti rock izvajalci ukvarjali z najrazličnejšimi socialnopolitičnimi temami. Še več, v njihovih pesmih niso pomembna samo socialnopolitično naravnana besedila, ampak tudi glasba sama, ki ima včasih zmožnost izraziti določene situacije, ki jih same besede v tekstu ne morejo. Na primer, glasba, v rock glasbi je to največkrat zvok kitar in bobnov, lahko metaforično predstavi določene situacije, predmete, in celo gibanje teh predmetov (letalo ki leti). Irska skupina U2 vsekakor spada v skupino rock glasbenikov, katerih glasba je socialnopolitično naravnana. V njihovi 30-let dolgi karieri so U2 ustvarili številne, socialnopolitično orientirane pesmi. Interpretirane pesmi v tej diplomski seminarski nalogi so dokaz, da takšne rock pesmi niso zgolj nekakšna nepomembna besedila in glasba, ampak pesmi katerih sporočilo nas uči o nekaterih pomembnih socialnopolitičnih problemih.
