2. A critical analysis on multifaceted benefits of mixture of cover crops over pure standMarko Zupanič, Branko Kramberger, 2023, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: Winter cover crops (WCCs) are fast-growing and high biomass producing crops that are included in the of crop rota- tion between two main cash crops. WCCs are used for greening the soil and can increase the yield of the main crop by increasing soil organic matter (SOM), soil water infiltrability and reducing water runoff and erosion, decreasing the weeds population and other soil-borne harmful biotic agents, improving soil microbial community, and enhancing agroecosystem services; however, yield can be adversely affected if they fix excessive nitrogen and do not release it in a timely manner. The carbon/nitrogen (C/N) ratio achieved in soil greening is a major factor in the availability of soil nitrogen, regardless of the location of soil residues; therefore, one option is to increase the nitrogen content of WCCs by sowing a mixture of legume and non-legume crops, since non-legumes such as grasses typically have a low nitrogen content and little to no positive effect on soil nitrogen availability on subsequent crops. The combination of legumes and non-legumes as WCCs exhibit multifaceted benefits such as quality biomass production, crop diversification, efficient plant protection, enrich- ment of soil microbes, biological nitrogen fixation, and so on. The integration of WCCs grasses and legumes into the crop rotation increases rational nitrogen management and can also increase SOM content and, consequently, soil fertility. The effective release of mineral nitrogen into the soil along the time should be taken into account in order to minimize leaching and optimize the symbiotic N fixed for the subsequent cash crop. Finally, with WCCs, it is possible to produce high-quality animal feed in pure stands and in mixtures in order to obtain on sustainable farm forage resources. 3. Clinical pharmacy services in mental health in Europe : a commentary paper of the European Society of Clinical Pharmacy Special Interest Group on Mental HealthMatej Štuhec, Martina Hahn, I. Taskova, I. Bayraktar, I. Fitzgerald, L. Molitschnig, A. Tatarević, N. Lindner, L. Agnoletto, Filipa Alves da Costa, 2023, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: A large proportion of the world's disease burden is attributable to mental illnesses. Although effective interventions are available, many patients still have limited access to evidence-based treatments. Aside from access, treatment gaps, including inappropriate medication selection and monitoring, are also routinely recognised. Mental health clinical pharmacists can help address these gaps and enable patients to receive optimised pharmaceutical care, particularly appropriate medication selection and monitoring. The European Society of Clinical Pharmacy (ESCP) Special Interest Group on Mental Health was established to improve standardised service provision in mental health settings across Europe. The Special Interest Group identified significant barriers (predominantly associated with reimbursement and position within the multidisciplinary team) to effective pharmaceutical care amongst those with mental illnesses. This commentary presents recommendations to address these gaps through improved mental health clinical pharmacy service provision. 5. Influence of explainer videos in marketing communication for tourism and health servicesTanja Sedej, Sonja Mlaker Kač, 2022, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: Digital marketing has been gaining more attention in last years. Several researchers have shown that it is a very powerful tool in the field of storytelling. In the last decade tourism has changed from typical destination marketing to approaches that often use storytelling, augmented reality, the sharing economy, all-year tourism, etc. Most of these tourism offers can be best promoted via digital media. Especially when it comes to the younger generation, social and digital media are crucial for success. Our research focuses on explainer videos and their importance in marketing for the tourism sector aimed at young people. Our research was conducted with a group of Slovenian students. The results show that explainer videos have great potential in field of destination marketing, event promotion (such as for sport and cultural events) and services (such as sharing-economy systems and health services) among the student population. Our research has also shown the content and animation/images used in explainer videos are the most important elements in attracting and holding the attention of younger generation. 6. Digital divide and the use of digital public services during the COVID-19 pandemicSunčana Slijepčević, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The COVID-19 pandemic enhanced digital transformation. With the spread
of the pandemic and the introduction of epidemiological measures, citizens
were enforced to use the Internet to an increased extent. The digital divide
among citizens and the capability of citizens to get an equal level of services
has also come to the fore. The paper explores the changes in the use of
e-government services and the impact of the pandemic on the citizens’
attitudes toward Internet use in Croatia. The analysis is based on the survey
data. The results show that due to the pandemic, citizens became more
dependent on IT equipment. Citizens spend more time using digital public
services than in the pre-pandemic period. The results also reveal differences
in the COVID-19 impact on the use of digital public services between different
groups of population. Ključne besede: digital public services, e-government services, citizens, digital divide, internet use Objavljeno v DKUM: 05.09.2023; Ogledov: 224; Prenosov: 15 Povezava na datoteko Gradivo ima več datotek! Več... |
7. Private forest owner willingness to mobilise wood from dense, small-diameter tree standsMatevž Triplat, Satu Helenius, Ruben Laina, Nike Krajnc, Thomas Kronholm, Zdenka Ženko, Teppo Hujala, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Forests are a source of renewable biomass, and their utilisation will play a vital role in the transition towards a climate-neutral economy. Small-diameter tree management could contribute to this transition via providing renewable biomass for sustainable uses and fostering tree growth towards long-lifecycle bioproducts. The utilisation of small-diameter trees in the EU is still low since new technologies and work models are required to make the operations economically profitable, environmentally sound, and socially attractive. The supply of biomass from small-diameter tree stands is dependent on forest owners with diverse perceptions on their forests and diverse ownership objectives. However, there is scarce research on forest owner perceptions on small-diameter tree management, which encompasses home consumption, self-active work, and commercial forestry services. A survey in four EU countries was designed to identify the main factors affecting the motivation of forest owners to mobilise biomass from small-diameter stands. Factor and clustering analyses were used to identify four forest owner segments: weakly-engaged traders, well-being seekers, self-active profit-seekers, and well-informed service users. The willingness to utilise biomass from small-diameter tree stands and participate in the market was shaped by forest owner knowledge of forestry, economic and socio-cultural motivations, and sensitivity to service offerings. Forest owner preferences for market participation are heterogenous, and thus different policy implementation approaches are needed and proposed. 9. Analysis of legal powers of municipal wardens they possess to ensure safety at the local levelBojan Tičar, 2021, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: Purpose: This article is primarily intended for students and other professionals at the Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security of the University of Maribor to familiarise themselves with the Slovenian regulation in the field of criminal justice and security. The article presents safety powers of municipal wardens from the perspective of the applicable Slovenian law. Readers may learn how the Slovenian legal system works at the local level, what general legal acts provide a basis for municipal wardens’ actions and what are legal rules for their application. Methods: The article is a scientific review based on grammatical and dogmatic interpretation of applicable legal regulations and selected decisions of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Slovenia, and on an analytical method (de lege lata) of the review of the Slovenian legislation in the field in question. The legal methods used by the author also include a synthetic method of comparing the legislation from the underlying Municipal Warden Services Act (»Zakon o občinskem redarstvu« [ZORed], 2006) and its main amendments set out in the Act Amending the Municipal Warden Services Act (»Zakon o spremembah in dopolnitvah Zakona o občinskem redarstvu« [ZORed-A], 2017). Findings: The paper is a comprehensive review of measures that municipal wardens may use to ensure safety at the local level. The author lists the relevant scientific and professional literature and argues about polemic issues with other prominent Slovenian authors dealing with the field in question, i.e., legal powers of municipal wardens. He mainly refers to the works of authors, such as Meško, Žaberl, Dvojmoč, Lavtar, Kečanović, Gostič, Brezovnik, Grafenauer, and Flander. Limitations/Implications: Due to the limited length of the article the overview of the municipal wardens’ powers covers essential legal concepts. The author’s intention is to introduce to the Slovenian or foreign readers the complex notions from the Slovenian legal system, sometimes in a non-technical way since the readers will be both from the field of law and from the field of criminal justice and security. Practical Implications: The article has practical application for domestic and foreign experts wishing to gain knowledge of the Slovenian regulation relating to safety at the local level. Definitions are correct and up-to-date and contribute, therefore, to boosting the knowledge in this field. The article contains a further overview of terms to broaden the understanding of the legal categorical apparatus in local safety and security. Originality/Value: This is a review article and therefore its originality is limited since the author does not provide any new scientific information. Rather, he summarises, through a scientific legal analysis, what is already known. The original value of the article lies in the way the author puts the legal and repressive measures of municipal wardens in a readable and easy-to-understand context so that readers can remember them easily. The definitions of terms used in the article are useful and will be helpful to many readers in their future study or research. 10. Notaries' escrow services in selling real estate in the Republic of SloveniaBojan Podgoršek, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Notary's escrow is a legal relationship between the notary and the parties to the underlying legal transaction, which is generally a sales agreement. Notary's escrow is regulated with mandatory statutory rules commissioning public notaries and the rules of the mandate agreement. Mutual obligations of the parties to the underlying legal transaction in and of themselves do not influence the notary's obligations under a notary's escrow agreement unless they are included in the notary's escrow agreement as a constituent part thereof. Slovenian legislation stipulates the general conditions of notaries' operations. However, it does not stipulate specific conditions that must be fulfilled in order to place documents, funds and securities into escrow with a notary, nor does it stipulate the mandatory component elements of the escrow order. Therefore, The Slovenian regulation of notary's escrow should be supplemented.
