Application of the VIKOR method for solving problems in logistics
Stojanče Mijalkovski, Vasko Stefanov, Dejan Mirakovski, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: When companies make strategic decisions, responsible persons must take into account as many influential parameters as possible so that the solution to the given problem is the most optimal, that is, they make the most appropriate decision. Multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) can find a very large application for solving such very complex and important issues, where it is of particular importance that the company makes the most appropriate decision. Making the optimal decision for a given problem directly affects the financial performance of a given company. In this paper, the VIKOR method will be applied, which until now has not been used to solve problems related to the choice of warehouse location, but is very often and very successfully used to solve various complex problems when applying multi-criteria decision making (MCDM). The purpose of this paper is to show that the VIKOR method can be successfully applied to select the optimal warehouse location for a company that has subsidiaries in multiple locations.

Factors influencing habitat selection of three cryptobenthic clingfish species in the shallow North Adriatic Sea
Domen Trkov, Danijel Ivajnšič, Marcelo Kovačić, Lovrenc Lipej, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Cryptobenthic fishes were often overlooked in the past due to their cryptic lifestyle, so knowledge of their ecology is still incomplete. One of the most poorly studied taxa of fishes in the Mediterranean Sea is clingfish. In this paper we examine the habitat preferences of three clingfish species (Lepadogaster lepadogaster, L. candolii, and Apletodon incognitus) occurring in the Gulf of Trieste (Northern Adriatic). The results show that all three species have a cryptic lifestyle and are well-segregated based on their depth distribution and macro- and microhabitat preferences. L. lepadogaster inhabits shallow waters of the lower mediolittoral and upper infralittoral, where it occurs on rocky bottoms under stones. L. candolii similarly occurs in the rocky infralittoral under stones, but below the lower distribution limit of L. lepadogaster, and in seagrass meadows, where it occupies empty seashells. Such hiding places in seagrass meadows are also occupied by A. incognitus, which mostly occurs below the lower distribution limit of L. candolii. Despite the overlap of depth and macrohabitat, the probability of individuals of two species encountering each other or competing in the same habitat is low when the depth range is combined with the microhabitat preferences of these species.

VOSviewer analysis of studies on software selection in the logistics sector
Bukra Doganer Duman, Mehmet Adak, Alican Güleç, 2024, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: Outsourcing in logistics is an important step to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency. In this sense, it is possible to come across outsourcing in many areas of logistics processes. One of the outsourcing steps is the decision to select the software. Choosing the right software can affect the market share of the organization and the implementation time, effort, and cost. The findings of this research will help the marketing and sales teams of software product companies to develop key points and also enable end users to make informed decisions in selecting software packages for the organization. In this study, the studies in the literature were examined through the Scopus database, and co-citation analysis was performed using the VOSviewer program. As a result of the analysis, the articles analyzed were divided into four clusters and explained.

Statistically significant features improve binary and multiple motor imagery task predictions from EEGs
Murside Degirmenci, Yilmaz Kemal Yuce, Matjaž Perc, Yalcin Isler, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In recent studies, in the field of Brain-Computer Interface (BCI), researchers have focused on Motor Imagery tasks. Motor Imagery-based electroencephalogram (EEG) signals provide the interaction and communication between the paralyzed patients and the outside world for moving and controlling external devices such as wheelchair and moving cursors. However, current approaches in the Motor Imagery-BCI system design require.

Developing an integrated framework for supplier evaluation based on relevant attributes and performance measures
Mohsen Cheshmberah, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Supplier evaluation and selection is essential to any organization, and planning an effective and comprehensive approach to that end seems inevitable. Meanwhile, determining the requisite criteria for evaluating and selecting suppliers is probably one of the most important steps to be taken towards developing an evaluation and selection model in the organization. In this article, first a review of the literature on the criteria and the field of supplier evaluation and selection are provided. These criteria are then placed into proper categories. In order to formulate a supplier evaluation and selection framework for the manufacturing organization under study, the implemented categorization is applied where a list of fifteen attributes and performance criteria is created; where upon it is secured with the help of a designated panel (project team). These features are then screened using Lawshe's method the "social attribute" is removed from the list of fifteen. The remaining 14 other criteria are configured within the SEAP (Suppliers Evaluation based on Attributes and Performances) framework. The framework follows the objective of continually evaluating suppliers, both potential and actual ones through incorporating their performances into their qualification ratings. Based on the proposed framework, suppliers are evaluated on the basis of two types of criteria, - feature (attribute) and performance.

Performance-oriented UWB RTLS decision-making approach
Simona Šinko, Enej Marinič, Blaž Poljanec, Matevž Obrecht, Brigita Gajšek, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: When introducing new technologies, companies are repeatedly faced with choosing between solutions from different providers. Regardless of all the good technical characteristics of the technology, if it is chosen inappropriately, it can prove to be a cost driver instead of something that brings added value to the system. Aware of this, we considered selecting a real-time location system (RTLS) based on Ultra-wideband technology in the indoor work environment. In practice and theory, it has been proven that the introduction of the RTLS can have highly positive effects on performance and business sustainability indicators. When reviewing the literature, it was noticed that authors solely focus on the technical properties of the systems and prices when giving guidelines on selecting the optimal RTLS. This article aims to provide advanced guidelines for UWB RTLS selection, proposing a phased selection process which is the main novelty proposed and investigated in this research. The guidelines are based on fragmented recommendations in the scientific literature that have been identified, gathered, considered, and reasonably allocated to the advanced performance-oriented phased selection process. In practice, this approach enables decision-makers to choose the most efficient and most appropriate UWB RTLS for specific logistics systems.
