1. Factors of digital transformation in the maritime transport sectorMarija Jović, Edvard Tijan, Doroteja Vidmar, Andreja Pucihar, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper aims to present the model of factors which influence the digital transformation in maritime transport sector. The preliminary model is based on a literature review and interviews conducted to identify the relevant factors influencing the digital transformation of stakeholders operating in the maritime transport sector. In order to test the model, the survey was conducted on the sample of Croatian administrative (port authorities, ministry, harbormaster’s offices, etc.) and commercial stakeholders (freight forwarders, agents, terminal operators, etc.) operating in maritime transport sector. The collected data was analyzed using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The research has shown that organizational, technological, and environmental (TOE) factors affect the digitalization of the organizations in the maritime transport sector. As a result of digitalization, changes in business models are visible: organizations in maritime transport sector generate additional revenue from new sources, provide new services, and introduce new sales channels. 2. The technical efficiency of Tunisian ports : comparing data envelopment analysis and stochastic frontier analysis scoresRabeb Kammoun, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Maritime transportation for Tunisia plays an important role in trade exchange with other countries. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to measure the efficiency scores of 7 seaports in Tunisia by applying the Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) with Cobb-Douglas production function and Data envelopment analysis (DEA) with CCR and BCC models. The annual data collected cover the 2007-2017 period for each port. Thus, the sample size for the analysis comprises a total of 77 observations. The empirical result shows that the total average scores of operating efficiency scores were DEA-BCC (0.746)>SFACD (0.536)>DEA-CCR (0.334) from 2007 to 2017. Given these results, the port of Gabes can be considered as the best efficient port in the 3 models (DEA-BCC, DEACCR and SFA-CD). 3. Possibilities of logistics partner cooperation between the seaports of Bar and KoperMimo Drašković, Veselin Drašković, 2016, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: The scientific problem and the subject of research consists of the explanation and analysis of possibilities of regional logistics partner cooperation between Slovenian seaport of Koper and Montenegrin seaport of Bar. This paper elaborates an original idea to attract Chinese investors, shippers, logistics providers, bankers and other business entities in order to expand the port of Bar, modernize its infrastructure, increase the depth of its draft for receiving the largest ships and the creation of intermodal logistics and distribution centers in the closer and wider hinterland . This would allow huge amounts of Chinese goods to be partly shipped to the closer and wider region whereas the rest would be shipped through the port of Koper to Europe. Its hypothesis is that the creation of integrated logistics supply chain would attract a significant portion of China's import of goods to Europe and increase the competitiveness and advantages of the ports of Bar and Koper, through economy of scale, increase of quality of logistics service, reduction of total logistics costs and achievement of higher added value of all port and logistics services in these seaports. 4. Seaport efficiency and productivity based on Data Envelopment Analysis and Malmquist Productivity IndexJoanna Baran, Aleksandra Górecka, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Seaport efficiency and productivity are the critical factors for handling of goods in the international supply chains and plays an important role in trade exchange with other countries. It is important to evaluate efficiency and productivity of seaports to reflect their status and reveal their position in competitive environment. The main purpose of this article is to use Data Envelopment Analysis and Malmquist Productivity Index to measure the technical efficiency and total factor productivity of container ports. DEA analysis enables one to assess how efficiently a seaports uses the available inputs to generate a set of outputs relative to other units in the data set. This article presents the use CCR and BCC DEA model, to determine overall technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of container ports. The analysis gives a possibility to create a efficiency ranking of seaports. The study also applies the Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI), which was used to analyze changes in seaports productivity. The study indicated that technological progress had a greater impact on the change in productivity of container ports than changes in technical efficiency.
