Marica Ilić, 2020, diplomsko delo

Opis: The number of international tourist movements increases every year. For many countries, tourism is a key part of the economy that generates considerable profits. When an economic sector such as tourism is triggered, any negative event in the process is a major detriment to the local and regional economy. In this thesis our goal was to clarify the relationship between tourism and terrorism, how terrorist attacks impact the tourism industry, and how destinations recover from them. The focus is on studies published in the last 18 years and focusing on Europe.

Analysis of the legal aspects of illegal asset recovery in Slovenia
Katja Rejec Longar, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyse the legal aspects of asset recovery in Slovenia through a five-stage asset-recovery process: financial investigation; freezing or seizure of assets; confiscation; enforcement of the confiscation order; and asset disposal. Design/Methods/Approach: EU and Slovenian legislation in the area of illegal asset recovery was analysed and compared. Using legal analysis, gaps and inconsistences were discovered and discussed. Findings: The Slovenian legal order provides relevant bodies with several avenues to recover ‘proceeds’ and illegally acquired assets. There is the traditional confiscation of proceeds, in personam confiscation in criminal proceedings, extended confiscation in criminal proceedings, and civil forfeiture pursuant to the Forfeiture of Assets of Illegal Origin Act. One problem is the related provisions are dispersed across both substantive and procedural law. Another problem is that some provisions are formulated in such a way that makes them impossible to apply in practice. It would be necessary to introduce a category of financial investigation in criminal proceedings. It is inappropriate that financial investigations are carried out under the provisions of civil law. Financial investigation must, therefore, become an essential part of all police criminal investigations of relevant offences, and holds the potential to generate proceeds. However, at the same time, law enforcement authorities must obtain a clear mandate that in the particular conditions they may investigate all assets of a suspect and not simply the concrete proceeds of crime. Practical Implications: The study findings are useful for preparing systemic changes in relation to the seizure of assets of illegal origin, also because the changes can be used to help establish an efficient way of organising the work of state bodies in this area. Originality/Value: The purpose of the paper is to comprehensively analyse all aspects of the seizure of assets of illegal origin. The results of the analysis substantially complement existing knowledge in the analysed field.

Moderating effects between job insecurity and intention to quit in samples of Slovene and Austrian workers
Paul Jiménez, Borut Milfelner, Simona Šarotar Žižek, Anita Dunkl, 2017, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Job insecurity is a serious stressor in the work environment, with negative work-related outcomes. The effects of job insecurity strongly depend on the country’s economic condition. The present study investigated the relationship among job insecurity, job satisfaction, and the intention to quit as well as possible mediating variables (resources/recovery and stress). The samples of 251 Slovene and 219 Austrian workers were analyzed. The data indicated that job insecurity is related to higher stress and intention to quit as well as to lower resources/recovery at the workplace. Stress is an important mediator in the relationship between resources/recovery and job satisfaction as well as intention to quit. These relationships were found in both samples.

Methodology of an aircraft accident response system assessment
Franc Željko Županič, Maja Meško, Iztok Podbregar, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The paper investigates the ability to learn from an aircraft accident as the opportunities for learning diminish with the decline in the accident rate. A safety compromising case is studied as the processes of aircraft accident intervention and recovery can degrade the ability of an aircraft accident investigation process to enhance aviation safety by revealing accident causation. In the case study an assessment of the Slovenian aircraft accident response system was made. For the purpose of evaluating the successfulness of aircraft accident intervention and effectiveness of recovery, a model of aircraft accident response system requirements has been developed. Based on non-conformances identified by the model of requirements, remedial measures are proposed for the enhancement of the aircraft accident response system operation. Criteria for the definition of the transition from accident intervention to recovery are derived from the assessment findings in a manner not to impede the aircraft accident investigation effectiveness and efficiency.

Similarities and differences of health-promoting leadership and transformational leadership
Anita Dunkl, Paul Jiménez, Simona Šarotar Žižek, Borut Milfelner, Wolfgang Kallus, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The concept of health-promoting leadership focuses on the interaction between the organization and the individual by identifying components able to positively influence employees’ working conditions. In the present study, the effects of health-promoting leadership and transformational leadership on the employees’ recovery–stress balance are investigated. In an online study, 212 Slovenian workers were asked about their perceptions of their direct supervisors and their work-related stress and recovery. The results showed that both leadership styles have a significant effect on employees’ recovery at the workplace, which mediated the relationship between leadership and work-related stress.

Tine Konjedic, 2015, doktorska disertacija

Opis: This thesis investigates the possibilities for increasing the power conversion efficiency and power density of a single-phase single-stage AC-DC converter with power factor correction capability. Initially, the limitations are investigated for simultaneous increase of power density and efficiency in hard switched bidirectional converters. The switching frequency dependent turn-on losses of the transistors have been identified as the main limiting factor. In order to avoid the increase in total power losses with increasing the switching frequency, a control approach is proposed for achieving zero voltage switching transitions within the entire operating range of a bidirectional converter that utilizes power transistors in a bridge structure. This approach is based on operation in the discontinuous conduction mode with a variable switching frequency. Operation in the discontinuous conduction mode ensures the necessary reversed current that naturally discharges the parasitic output capacitance of the transistor and thus allows this transistor to be turned on at zero voltage. On the other hand, the varying switching frequency ensures that the converter operates close to the zero voltage switching boundary, which is defined as the minimum required current ripple at which zero voltage switching can be maintained. Operation with the minimum required current ripple is desirable as it generates the lowest magnetic core losses and conduction losses within the power circuit. The performance and effectiveness of the investigated approach were initially verified in a bidirectional DC-DC converter. A reliable zero voltage switching was confirmed over the entire operating range of a bidirectional DC-DC converter, as well as the absence of the reverse recovery effect and the unwanted turn-on of the synchronous transistor. In order to justify its usage and demonstrate its superior performance, the proposed zero voltage switching technique was compared with a conventional continuous conduction mode operation which is characterized by hard switching commutations. After successful verification and implementation in a bidirectional DC-DC converter, the investigated zero voltage switching approach was adapted for usage in an interleaved DC-AC converter with power factor correction capability. Comprehensive analysis of the converter's operation in discontinuous conduction mode with a variable switching frequency was performed in order to derive its power loss model. The latter facilitated the design process of the converter's power circuit. A systematic approach for selecting the converter's power components has been used while targeting for an extremely high power conversion efficiency over a wide operating range and a low volume design of the converter. The final result of the investigations performed within the scope of this thesis is the interleaved AC-DC converter with power factor correction capability. Utilization of interleaving allows for increasing the converter's power processing capability, reduces the conducted differential mode noise and shrinks the range within which the switching frequency has to vary. The proposed zero voltage switching control approach was entirely implemented within a digital signal controller and does not require any additional components within the converter's circuit. The experimental results have confirmed highly efficient operation over a wide range of operating powers. A peak efficiency of 98.4 % has been achieved at the output power of 1100 W, while the efficiency is maintained above 97 % over the entire range of output powers between 200 W and 3050 W.

MARS: A Metamodel Recovery System Using Grammar Inference
Faizan Javed, Marjan Mernik, Jeffrey G. Gray, Barrett Richard Bryant, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Domain-specific modeling (DSM) assists subject matter experts in describing the essential characteristics of a problem in their domain. When a metamodel is lost, repositories of domain models can become orphaned from their defining metamodel. Within the purview of model-driven engineering, the ability to recover the design knowledge in a repository of legacy models is needed. In this paper we describe MARS, a semi-automatic grammar-centric system that leverages grammar inference techniques to solve the metamodel recovery problem. The paper also contains an applicative case study, as well as experimental results from the recovery of several metamodels in diverse domains.
Ključne besede: domain-specific languages, metamodeling, recovery systems, reverse engineering, re-ingineering
