1. Surveying healthcare workers to improve the design, wearer experience and sustainability of PPE isolation gownsSonja Šterman, Katherine Townsend, Eloise Salter, Karen Harrigan, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This protective clothing design project responds to the urgent need for research into the redesign of personal protective equipment (PPE) isolation gowns, to be more fit for purpose and reusable to enhance the experiences of healthcare workers treating patients with COVID-19 and variants. Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) the research addresses the engineering question: “What new materials, design and manufacturing approaches should we start to consider in preparation for pandemics e.g. reusable PPE to replace single use?” The article focuses on the online questionnaire/ survey, its main findings and the ‘participatory clothing design’ methodology which prioritises the lived experiences and expressed needs of healthcare workers wearing disposable and reusable PPE in acute care scenarios. Research methods include literature and gown reviews, selected interviews and survey directed at nurses, to acquire first-hand qualitative data about the impact of current gown design and procurement policies on wearers. Selected results and commentary from the ongoing survey are presented and thematically analysed to inform the development of reusable gowns. Semi-structured interviews with clinical leads and caregivers, as well as responses from users, will be important to integrate expertise in fashion, textile and uniform design, clinical practice, and manufacturing. Further design will be based on a complex design brief that balances the needs of wearers and critical care providers while considering regulations, protection, comfort, sustainability, and cost. This research focuses on enhancing an overlooked area of critical care clothing and the people who wear it while reducing its detrimental impact on the planet. 2. Perceptions of the primary health care team about the implementation of integrated care of patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension in Slovenia : qualitative studyNataša Stojnić, Zalika Klemenc-Ketiš, Majda Mori-Lukančič, Črt Zavrnik, Tonka Poplas-Susič, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background
Integrated care involves good coordination, networking, and communication within health care services and externally between providers and patients or informal caregivers. It affects the quality of services, is more cost-effective, and contributes to greater satisfaction among individuals and providers of integrated care. In our study, we examined the implementation and understanding of integrated care from the perspective of providers - the health care team - and gained insights into the current situation.
Methods
Eight focus groups were conducted with health care teams, involving a total of 48 health care professionals, including family physicians, registered nurses, practice nurses, community nurses, and registered nurses working in a health education center. Prior to conducting the focus groups, a thematic guide was developed based on the literature and contextual knowledge with the main themes of the integrated care package. The analysis was conducted using the NVivo program.
Results
We identified 12 main themes with 49 subthemes. Health care professionals highlighted good accessibility and the method of diagnostic screening integrated with preventive examinations as positive aspects of the current system of integrated care in Slovenia. They mentioned the good cooperation within the team, with the involvement of registered nurses and community nurses being a particular advantage. Complaints were made about the high workload and the lack of workforce. They feel that patients do not take the disease seriously enough and that patients as teachers could be useful.
Conclusion
Primary care teams described the importance of implementing integrated care for diabetes and hypertension patients at four levels: Patient, community, care providers, and state. Primary care teams also recognized the importance of including more professionals from different health care settings on their team. 3. Youth entrepreneurship among higher education students – a qualitative research of entrepreneurial intention and educationPedro Mendonça, Vítor Braga, Marisa R. Ferreira, Alexandra Braga, Amélia Carvalho, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The area of entrepreneurship education is developing rapidly, potentially
conveying positive effects to business education, innovation and economies.
Our paper seeks to analyse the entrepreneurial intention of a group of higher
education students, and the data includes 29 interviews, administered to
students of Portuguese higher education institutions. The results obtained
allowed to confirm some of the aspects described in the literature, although
a few divergences were also found. It was also possible to clarify some of the
theories associated with barriers to entrepreneurship. The main limitations
are related with the sample size, opening space for future research with
larger samples. The most important implications relate to the identified
need for very specific topics in entrepreneurship education. However, the key
contribution of the paper also lies in its qualitative research approach.

4. New Horizons in Subject-Specific Education : Research Aspects of Subject-Specific Didactics2020 Opis: Over the past three decades, various research methods have been developed in the field of subject-specific educational research. The individual subject didactics have been consolidated enormously, each in its way and at a different pace. The scientific monograph New Horizons in Subject-Specific Education is a study work containing complete and in-depth research of subject-specific didactics, written by several authors from Slovenia, Croatia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. The monograph presents new ideas and developments in subject didactics, which are of significant importance to those working in the field. It reflects both the diversity of research concerns in this field and the range of methods used to investigate them. The book consists of four thematic parts—STEM Education, Sport and Art Education, Social Science and Humanities Education, and Pedagogy. We hope that the monograph New Horizons in Subject-Specific Education will contribute some new information and knowledge to an evolving but extremely important area of research.
