Assessment of the innovation system in SMEs using innovation taxonomy and pondering methods : diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študijskega programa I. stopnje
Ana Gallardo Gandarillas, 2021, diplomsko delo

Opis: In this bachelor thesis, the different types of innovation within a company are studied and analysed. The companies studied are SMEs i.e. from 10 to 250 employees. Smaller companies are mainly confronted with the problem of resources and larger companies with their strategic orientation. We have studied the ten types of innovations according to Doblin (Doblin 2014), and we realise that they have a rather marketing-oriented focus, so we analyse five groups of innovations that we consider to be the key (marketing, product, organisational, business model and technological innovation). Five groups of innovations have been weighed on a scale from 0 to 100 % according to their importance to contribute to the economic success of the company. All groups have been weighted and ranked in order of priority to initiate the innovation process in the SME, starting with marketing, followed by product, technological, organisational and business model innovations. We found innovation process needs to be implemented as a continuous cyclical process. If the company wants to be successful, it is a continuous cycle model, which should never stop. Once a particular innovation is chosen, it will be studied and tested whether the investment can be successful. If so investment process will be executed, if not, the cycling process will start again until gives a positive result. This way one of the innovation is recognized as most important according to circumstances in SME involved at a certain moment.

The ray of creation
Radislav Jovović, 2017, druge monografije in druga zaključena dela

Opis: How to develop creation and raise it to a higher level? – is the main preoccupation of the present volume. It may help in developing a mote or song of creation. The present volume examines how creation has built and improved man. Author pointed out that people were seeking a way to rise, to express their essence, critical thinking about the phenomena and problems that were pressed; they sought to understand the processes and phenomena; through a process of creative storm they liberated their mind, collecting new information and knowledge about the world. In the creative process were born ideas, transforming through discoveries and inventions, and brought to life in usable values: houses, cars, boats, airplanes, computers… The author emphasizes need for development creation. How to achieve this? We must critically accept the reality around us, understand this reality, comprehend the processes, and discover the heart of things on the basis of phenomena and facts (manifestation of the essence). This book is dedicated to the development of critical and creative spirit. Author consider many issues related to creation: How to change the way of thinking? How to innovate our life? How to take our life into our hands? How to find the talents that evolution (biological and cultural) installed in us? How to transformation from a passive to an active attitude towards life? Examples of brilliant people have been explored, some of them are: Aristotle, Archimedes, Euclid, Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Tesla… They are our spiritual role models! These pioneers of history still inspire generations, carrying them on their intellectual wings. With this book, author wants to inject us an energy of achievements, which we all need!

Analyzing the process of patent aubmission with a special emphasis on the phases of the research process : the case of Slovenia
Mitja Ruzzier, Tine Nagy, Robert Ravnihar, 2009, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This article presents some findings about the process of patenting of Slovenian and foreign researchers in scientific research. Based on the reviewed literature and with help of our conceptual model, we establish that the patenting process can be divided into three separate phases: knowledge detection phase, knowledge dissemination phase and knowledge transfer phase. During the process of researching and patenting, a variety of factors affect the results, which can be divided into two groups: internal and external factors. In Slovenia, patents are statistically significant for researchers working and exploring in the fields of natural science and engineering. Research results in the form of a patent largely depend on financial support and work experiences of individual researchers or research groups. The commercialization of a patent means a successful ending of the research process, as many positive benefits are expected.

Individual and organisational creativity and innovation : their management
Rudi Rozman, Jure Kovač, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Due to the development of technology, production and other business functions, customers have entered in the focus of enterprises’ endeavours, displacing mass-produced standardized products. Efficiency is no longer sufficient: flexibility, creativity and innovation have become vital. Creativity and innovation processes started to be studied, first at the level of individuals and then within organizations. It became obvious that creativity and innovation depend on individuals themselves and, within social units, also on their organisation. From the organisational point of view, practitioners and researchers attempt to determine the organisational variables that positively influence creativity. In this paper, the authors describe both the process and characteristics of creativity and innovation conducted by an autonomous individual as well as the same process conducted by members of a social unit. The appropriate organisation supporting the development of a creative and innovative social unit is established by management whose responsibility is to assure a rational achievement of new useful ideas and their development into products, services and processes. Therefore, the authors focus on three processes, emphasizing their relationships: individual creativity and innovation processes, organizational creativity and innovation processes, and the management of creativity and innovation.

Process reengineering and innovation of remaking soapsuds
Andreja Verbič, Tomaž Kern, Drago Vuk, 2009, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This article uses a business process renovation method to address an environmental protection problem. The presented case, studied in factories which remake crude vegetable oil (soapsuds remake), focuses on reengineering one of the business processes which is classified as an obligatory process. This process has to be performed to comply with the requirements of the existing ecology legislation. Therefore, it is reasonable to take a radical approach - business process reengineering. Soapsuds with oil remnants are a secondary product in the vegetable oil refining process. According to the legislation, secondary products as waste are not acceptable for the environment. Soapsuds remake as it is currently carried out produces technical fatty acids and, as a side product, calcium sulphate. Calcium sulphate is listed as special waste; therefore it must be deposited in a special waste landfill site. In the course of searching for a solution to this ecological problem, a new idea came up, namely that soapsuds are taken to the biogas plant. At the biogas plant, they can be decomposed into biogas, which is then used to generate electric energy, for heating or to supplement municipal gas. Thus, the reengineering of the process is upgraded into process innovation and environmental innovation. Using data obtained from the available literature, we managed to prove that process reengineering, which is simultaneously process innovation and ecological innovation, can be applied in practice. Side products resulting from the anaerobic digestion of soapsuds in the biogas plant comply better with the requirements of the Slovenian ecological legislation than those occurring in the process used up to now.

Some of the main factors of innovative renewal of companies' operations
Igor Hustič, Matjaž Mulej, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Problems cannot be solved by the mentality that has caused them, such as neglecting the non-technological innovation. Often, innovative renewal of companies' operations is urgently needed. Overcoming the consequences of the global economic and financial crisis cannot be successful without innovation of the values, culture, business ethics and norms of all their important stakeholders. We suggest a new synergy of methods aimed at renewal of business processes in an innovative way by using the dialectical systems theory approach. We combine BSC, ISO 9000, the method 'learning company' and USOMID. Literature so far has not made it clear that those approaches can complement each other and jointly contribute to renewal of business operations according to the requirement of the requisite holism.
