Privacy-preserving AI-based framework for container transportation demand forecasting in sea-rail intermodal systems

Opis: In response to the growing demand for accurate freight forecasting in sea-rail intermodal transportation, particularly under the constraints of stringent data protection regulations, we introduce a privacy-preserving, AI-based framework that focuses on the micro-level identification of container transport potential. The framework combines Vertical Federated Learning (VFL) with advanced feature and sample selection techniques. It leverages privacy-preserving methods, such as homomorphic encryption and random noise, enabling secure collaboration between ports and railways while safeguarding commercially sensitive data. Through extensive experiments, our framework demonstrates superior performance in predicting container transport demand, significantly improving the accuracy of resource allocation and scheduling decisions for rail operators. The framework not only ensures compliance with data protection regulations but also provides valuable insights into intermodal transportation planning, optimizing both railway operations and customer service quality. This approach offers a practical solution for improving strategic decision-making in the sea-rail intermodal sector amid increasing privacy demands and complex logistical challenges.

Izdelava uporabniškega vmesnika naprave za testiranje elektronskih sklopov gospodinjskih aparatov : magistrsko delo

Opis: V magistrskem delu je predstavljen razvoj uporabniškega vmesnika za testno napravo, namenjeno testiranju elektronskih sklopov gospodinjskih aparatov. Osredotoča se na povezavo med testno napravo in računalnikom prek FTDI čipa ter uporabo DLL knjižnic v okolju LabVIEW. Razviti so bili moduli za testiranje posameznih komponent (LED, piskač, tipke ipd.) in sestavljen glavni program za avtomatski in ročni test. Rezultat je učinkovit in intuitiven sistem, ki izboljšuje natančnost testiranja, zmanjšuje možnost napak in omogoča nadaljnji razvoj za širšo uporabo.

Generating test cases for automotive requirement testingusing rag : magistrsko delo

Opis: The automotive industry is increasingly confronted with challenges in managing complex requirements and test cases arising from the integration of advanced electronic systems, software functionalities, and compliance with international standards. Conventional manual validation of requirements is time-consuming, error-prone, and resource-intensive, underscoring the need for more efficient and reliable approaches. This thesis investigates the automation of test case generation through the application of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) in combination with Large Language Models (LLMs). A complete RAG workflow was implemented in Python, incorporating LangChain, LangGraph, Ollama, and ChromaDB to facilitate indexing, retrieval, and generation. The system was trained and evaluated on datasets comprising automotive requirements and test cases, with experiments examining embedding quality, retrieval strategies, prompt engineering techniques, and generative model parameters. The results demonstrate that RAG is capable of generating high-quality, contextually relevant test cases on consumer-grade hardware, thereby significantly enhancing efficiency, consistency, and productivity relative to manual methods. Furthermore, the findings suggest that RAG-based systems are best positioned as complementary tools that support, rather than replace, human engineers. This research provides a foundation for future work on hybrid retrieval methods, advanced embedding techniques, and the integration of more powerful LLMs into requirement and test case management processes.

Towards digital twinning of electrical motors – simulation models

Opis: This paper presents a methodological framework for building a digital shadow of an induction motor based on standardised tests and a two‑axis (dq) simulation model. The tests were carried out according to IEEE Std 112 and IEC 60034‑2‑1. The parameters of the equivalent circuit were identified and entered into the model. Validation was performed by comparing the torque–speed and current–speed curves at 180 V and 220 V, while the nominal behaviour at 400 V was estimated using the model and voltage scaling. The model was then calibrated to reduce the discrepancy between the simulation and measurements, and the error was quantified using the root‑mean‑square error (RMSE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). An automated load‑simulation setup that reproduces the torque test is also presented, enabling rapid evaluation of parameter influence. The results show a very good match in the current channel, with larger deviations in the prediction of characteristic torque points, indicating the limitations of linearised parameters and motivating nonlinear model extensions. The approach enables summarised reliable estimates at nominal voltage when direct measurements are not feasible.

Red-letter reading days : an eye-tracking perspective on Dr Seuss’ Green eggs and ham

Opis: This article examines eye gaze while a multimodal text with vibrant and colourful images is read and furthermore specifically investigates the effect of the Stroop test on eye gaze. The Stroop colour-word test was designed to test the ability of a reader to suppress a habitual response. This particular variation of the test presented readers with words that refer to colour, but are presented in a different colour. Results indicate images are used when unfamiliar objects are referred to and faces and characters attract attention. The use of incongruent colours definitely causes cognitive dissonance and negatively affect reading.

Vpliv morfoloških značilnosti na koordinacijo predšolskih otrok : diplomsko delo

Opis: V diplomskem delu z naslovom Vpliv morfoloških značilnosti na koordinacijo predšolskih otrok je bil namen raziskati, analizirati in predstaviti povezanost morfoloških značilnosti in koordinacije predšolskih otrok. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljene morfološke značilnosti predšolskih otrok, motorični razvoj in koordinacija, prav tako pa je opisan test KTK. V empiričnem delu pa je predstavljena raziskava, v katero je bilo vključenih 40 otrok, ki obiskujejo Vrtec Murska Sobota – enoto Gozdiček, starih od pet do šest let. Koordinacijo smo preverjali z merskim instrumentom, testom KTK. Na podlagi dobljenih rezultatov je bilo ugotovljeno, da so zelo majhni odstotki spremenljivke MQ (rezultati testa KTK) pojasnjeni z izbranimi neodvisnimi spremenljivkami (telesna višina, telesna teža, indeks telesne mase …). Neodvisne spremenljivke pa prav tako niso imele statistično značilnega vpliva na spremenljivko MQ.

Hranjenost in koordinacija predšolskih otrok : diplomsko delo

Opis: Namen diplomskega dela je bil raziskati in predstaviti povezanost med hranjenostjo in koordinacijo predšolskih otrok. Za empirično raziskavo je bil uporabljen neslučajnostni vzorec predšolskih otrok, starih od pet do šest let. V raziskavi je sodelovalo dvajset otrok, od tega osem deklic in dvanajst dečkov, ki obiskujejo vrtec Plavček pri Osnovni šoli Tišina. Pri zbiranju podatkov smo uporabili kavzalno ne-eksperimentalno metodo. Z meritvami telesnih razsežnosti smo pridobili podatke za izračun indeksa telesne mase (ITM), koeficienta razmerja med obsegom pasu in telesno višino (WHtR) in koeficientom razmerja med obsegom pasu in obsegom bokov (WHR). Sledila je izvedba testa KTK, s katero je bila določena koordinacijska sposobnost testiranih otrok. Zbrane podatke smo nato analizirali s pomočjo programa SPSS in ugotovili, da izbrane neodvisne spremenljivke (ITM, WHR, WHtR, spol) ne pojasnjujejo odvisne spremenljivke MQ (rezultati testa KTK).

Is there a relationship between macroeconomic variables and stock market indices in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

Opis: The economic growth and development of a country are reflected in many aspects, one of them being the stock market indices. The purpose of the article is to examine and determine the relationship between selected macroeconomic variables and stock market indices in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Using quarterly data over the 2010q1-2019q4 period, a cointegration analysis was applied to model this relationship. The Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) was used to explore the short-run relationship as well as the long-run relationship. The article examined the predictive ability among variables of interest by applying the Granger causality test. The results indicate a stable long-run relationship between the analysed macroeconomic variables and stock market indices in BiH, while no short-run relationship was found. The results contribute to the scientific discussions about the relationship between selected macroeconomic variables and representative stock market indices in BiH which considers their direction and strength.

Comparison study of four commercial SARS-CoV-2-rapid antigen tests : characterisation of the individual components

Opis: During the corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic, there was a sharp increase in the need for diagnostic tests that could detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus or its antibodies quickly and reliably. An important type in the group of diagnostic tests are rapid antigen lateral flow immuno-assay (LFIA) tests, which operate on the immuno-chromatographic principle with the lateral flow of analyte. Clinical practice in the last year has shown that such diagnostic tests can be effective in preventing the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.The development, and, thus, the production of the rapid antigen LFIA tests, is influenced by a number of factors that determine their sensitivity and accuracy indirectly. These factors are directly dependent on the type of antibody produced, which is formed as an immune response when infected with the virus. The production of the rapid antigen LFIA tests is associated with the appropriate selection of basic components that determine the type and quality of these tests. The basic components include: substrates and membranes, antigens, antibody labels and compatible buffers. The correct choice of membranes and their materials is crucial to compiling an effective rapid antigen LFIA test. This study therefore presents a comparative analysis of four commercially available SARS-CoV-2-rapid LFIA tests using state-of-the-art characterisation techniques scanning electron microscopy (SEM), inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), environmental scanning electron microscope / energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (ESEM/EDX), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy / attenuated total reflection (FTIR/ATR) for the individual components. The obtained results were the starting point for the development and assembling of our own rapid antigen LFIA test based on gold nanoparticles as antibody labels.

Modeling of tensile test results for low alloy steels by linear regression and genetic programming taking into account the non-metallic inclusions

Opis: Štore Steel Ltd. is one of the biggest flat spring steel producers in Europe. The main motive for this study was to study the influences of non-metallic inclusions on mechanical properties obtained by tensile testing. From January 2016 to December 2021, all available tensile strength data (472 cases–472 test pieces) of 17 low alloy steel grades, which were ordered and used by the final user in rolled condition, were gathered. Based on the geometry of rolled bars, selected chemical composition, and average size of worst fields non-metallic inclusions (sulfur, silicate, aluminium and globular oxides), determined based on ASTM E45, several models for tensile strength, yield strength, percentage elongation, and percentage reduction area were obtained using linear regression and genetic programming. Based on modeling results in the period from January 2022 to April 2022, five successively cast batches of 30MnVS6 were produced with a statistically significant reduction of content of silicon (t-test, p < 0.05). The content of silicate type of inclusions, yield, and tensile strength also changed statistically significantly (t-test, p < 0.05). The average yield and tensile strength increased from 458.5 MPa to 525.4 MPa and from 672.7 MPa to 754.0 MPa, respectively. It is necessary to emphasize that there were no statistically significant changes in other monitored parameters.
