2. Fuel gas operation management practices for reheating furnace in iron and steel industryD. M. Chen, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: How to evaluate the fuel gas operation (FGO) of various working groups (WGs) and working shifts (WSs) in reheating furnace is still ambiguous problem. In this paper, a novelty time-series FGO evaluation model was proposed. The strategy mainly included: Firstly, the fuel gas per ton steel (FGTS) was calculated in certain time interval; Secondly, the FGTS time-series data set was formulated in statistical period; Thirdly, the FGTS time-series data set was divided according to working schedule; Lastly, the FGO evaluation model was established. Case study showed that: i) The fuel gas operation evaluation results of various WGs in different WSs were accorded with normal distribution; ii) For various WGs, A WG performed best, followed by C WG and D WG. The performance of B WG was the worst due to its violent fluctuation of fuel gas operation evaluation results in three WSs; iii) For different WSs, the day WS and swing WS performed well, whereas the performance of night WS was unsatisfactory. Discussion results showed that the improvement of working skills, working responsibility and working passion, which were effective measure to achieve energy saving in terms of operation, should be enhanced through skills training and the reward and punishment system. Generally, this novelty time-series FGO evaluation method could also be applied to other industrial equipment. 4. A comparison of the tolerance analysis methods in the open-loop assemblyP. Kosec, Stanko Škec, Daniel Miler, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Dimensional and geometric tolerances affect both the cost and the functionality of a given product. Finding the acceptable trade-off between the two is among the common engineering tasks. Thus, many tolerance analysis methods are developed to help engineers and assist in the decision-making process. In this article, the authors have assessed four tolerance analysis methods by applying them to the open-loop assembly. The results obtained by the tolerance chart (worst-case) method, Monte-Carlo simulation, vector-loop analysis, and the Unified Jacobian-torsor model were analysed and compared. Additionally, the overview and application guidelines are included for each of the methods, aiming to help both researchers and practitioners. The results have confirmed that there are significant variations in the outputs across the observed methods, implying the need for informed method selection. 5. Practical approaches to the control of milk fermentation with kefir grainsJožef Ritonja, Andreja Goršek, Darja Pečar, Darius Andriukaitis, Boštjan Polajžer, 2024, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: In the chapter, milk fermentation for kefir production is studied. The traditional
kefir production process based on inoculating kefir grains into milk is considered. The
quality and quantity of the produced kefir also depend on the dynamics of the fermentation process. The chapter presents the design and synthesis of the closed-loop
control system in which changing the bioreactor’s temperature is used to control the
time course of the concentration of dissolved CO2. In the chapter: (1) a nonlinear
dynamic mathematical model of the fermentation process, which allows evaluating
the influence of the bioreactor’s temperature on the dynamics of the fermentation
process, is presented; (2) the design and synthesis of a conventional linear control
system with constant parameters are carried out; (3) an adaptive control system that
enables the tracking of the courses of the quantities of the fermentation process to the
desired reference trajectories without the time-consuming preliminary identification
of the parameters of the fermentation process model is developed. The numerical,
experimental, and analytic outcomes of the study are presented. Ključne besede: milk fermentation, batch biorector, mathematical modeling, control system design and synthesis, linear control, model reference adaptive control Objavljeno v DKUM: 08.01.2026; Ogledov: 0; Prenosov: 3

6. Systematic analysis of research studies on students’ self-management supported by use of digital technology in primary educationMiha Cojhter, Marta Licardo, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This systematic review critically evaluates peer-reviewed literature on the outcomes of self-management interventions in primary schools, supported by use of digital technologies. Guided by the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, the review encompassed eight databases and included empirical studies, literature reviews, meta-analyses, and theoretical contributions published between 2014 and 2024. Inclusion criteria mandated a focus on school-based self-management interventions in primary school settings.Findings highlight the critical influence of self-management on primary education. Studies demonstrate that interventions, including those leveraging digital tools, games, and open educational resources, significantly enhance student engagement, learning outcomes, as well as social and emotional competencies. The review underscores the importance of teacher training and acknowledges challenges in integrating self-management strategies within existing curricula. Effective self-management necessitates a nuanced approach combining traditional methods with modern digital technologies tailored to individual student needs. For example, integrating game-based self-management techniques and digital tools, like mobile learning applications, benefits engagement and academic performance, particularly for students with learning challenges. While further research is crucial to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of digital interventions and develop innovative strategies for promoting self-management across diverse educational contexts, potential benefits of digital technology-based approaches are clear. The limitations of traditional methods, which often prioritize external control over fostering intrinsic motivation and self-regulation, highlight the need for new and engaging tools. This is particularly relevant considering that young children often struggle with self-management skills, exhibiting behaviours like aggression, lack of motivation, and disengagement from learning. Traditional approaches frequently lack effective interventions, especially those leveraging modern digital technologies, needed to adequately address these challenges and cultivate essential self-management skills. However, research indicates a significant gap in exploring the development of self-management skills in connection with the implementation of digital technology in learning environments. This gap represents a crucial area for further investigation, as it highlights the need for a more nuanced understanding of how digital technology can be leveraged not just for academic progress, but also for fostering essential social-emotional competencies like self-management. Therefore, exploring the use of interactive games, educational apps, and engaging digital platforms, specifically designed with self-management development in mind, offers a promising avenue for transforming how these crucial skills are taught and learned. These digital technologies hold the potential to create more engaging and personalized learning experiences, catering to individual needs and learning styles in ways that traditional methods often fail to accomplish. 7. Omogočajo široko paleto funkcij, kot so identifikacija, plačevanje, shranjevanje podatkov in meritev. Kljub temu pa še vedno obstajajo določeni pomisleki glede zasebnosti in varnosti uporabe tovrstnih čipov. V okviru magistrskega dela smo raziskovali mnenja mladih v Sloveniji o uporabi podkožnih čipov. Identifying key risks for nonfinancial companiesTimotej Jagrič, Stefan Otto Grbenic, Aljaž Herman, Maša Galun, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This month’s edition of the IFAI Global Risk Radar offers a comprehensive assessment of global risk signals, derived from news sources worldwide and IFAI’s expanded taxonomy of financial, operational, environmental, market, geopolitical, and systemic risks. The analysis indicates a marked divergence among risk groups, with customer-facing risks, organisational culture, and operational disruptions exhibiting elevated Risk Frequency Indicators, while environment-related and ESG-linked risks remain in a cooling phase. At the individual-risk level, corruption and fraud, change-management failures, and water-supply crises show the strongest upward deviations relative to historical patterns, reffecting a broader global environment characterised by governance concerns, infrastructure fragilities, and climate-related stress. Several high-frequency indicators display co-movements that align with recent geopolitical escalation, heightened market volatility, and tightening financial conditions in multiple regions. These findings align with recent international policy reports that document persistent inffationary pressures (IMF, 2025), governance-related vulnerabilities (OECD, 2025a), and rising political instability in several emerging markets (World Bank, 2025). For companies, the implications are substantial: a combination of structural shocks, rapid shifts in investor sentiment, and intensifying supply-chain fragility requires a more adaptive and data-driven risk management approach.
