Marian-Gabriel Hâncean, Matjaž Perc, Jürgen Lerner, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This individual-level dataset describes (a) the early spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and (b) the first human-to-human transmission networks, in Romania. Specifically, in the first set of data (a), we profile the first 147 cases referring to: whether an individual is an index case, place of residence, sex, age, probable citizenship, probable country and place of infection, arrival date to a Romanian county, COVID-19 confirmation date as well as the sources of information. Also, the second set of data (b) contains the first observed human-to-human COVID-19 transmission networks (attributes of the nodes and the direction of COVID-19 transmission, i.e. who infects whom). Networks embed 159 nodes and 203 transmission ties. Indirect identifiers are masked / de-identified.

Early spread of COVID-19 in Romania: imported cases from Italy and human-to-human transmission networks
Marian-Gabriel Hâncean, Matjaž Perc, Jürgen Lerner, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: We describe the early spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the first human-to-human transmission networks, in Romania. We profiled the first 147 cases referring to sex, age, place of residence, probable country of infection, return day to Romania, COVID-19 confirmation date and the probable modes of COVID-19 transmissions. Also, we analysed human-to-human transmission networks and explored their structural features and time dynamics. In Romania, local cycles of transmission were preceded by imported cases, predominantly from Italy. We observed an average of 4.8 days (s.d. = 4.0) between the arrival to a Romanian county and COVID-19 confirmation. Furthermore, among the first 147 COVID-19 patients, 88 were imported cases (64 carriers from Italy), 54 were domestic cases, while for five cases the source of infection was unknown. The early human-to-human transmission networks illustrated a limited geographical dispersion, the presence of super-spreaders and the risk of COVID-19 nosocomial infections. COVID-19 occurred in Romania through case importation from Italy. The largest share of the Romanian diaspora is concentrated especially in the northern parts of Italy, heavily affected by COVID-19. Human mobility (including migration) accounts for the COVID-19 transmission and it should be given consideration while tailoring prevention measures.

The development of sustainable mobility plan (SUMP), example for city of Sinj, Croatia
Anđelo Marunica, 2019, magistrsko delo

Opis: SUMP (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan) is an innovative way of planning urban traffic in order to meet the needs of citizens in a sustainable way. Unlike the traditional approach to traffic planning, SUMP places a special emphasis on citizen and other stakeholders involvement and participation, in which different decisions regarding various sectors such as traffic, spatial planning, economic development, social activities, health, safety, energy, etc. are coordinated . The SUMP concept for the city of Sinj proposes 30 measures compiled in 6 themed packages, which are expected to greatly improve the quality of traffic in the city, in addition to reducing air pollution and improving the quality of life for residents of Sinj, while simultaneously, to a certain extent, stimulating economic growth and reversing demographic decline which is currently affecting the municipality of Sinj.

Preparing students for mobility in vocational education and training
Tina Rajhman, 2019, magistrsko delo

Opis: The following master’s thesis focuses on preparing students on mobility in vocational education and training. The focus lies on English for specific purposes which is an integral part of English in technical secondary and vocational technical education. The thesis also concentrates on exchange programmes and their effects on students’ L2 and communicative competences. The above-mentioned educational programmes have to focus on both general English as well as English for specific purposes because the students need the knowledge at school, during the vocational training and later at work. The EU helps promoting language diversity by financing various international mobility programmes. The following MA thesis focuses on Erasmus+ which supports education and training at all levels and helps the schools send vocational education and training learners abroad. As proven by various studies, mobility has a beneficial effect on students’ English and communication skills. The case study included seven students attending upper-secondary programmes at the school centre Škofja Loka. The purpose of the study was to analyse the influence of the students’ vocational training abroad on their foreign language competences and to see whether students’ communicative competences improved during the vocational training abroad. The results were used to prepare helpful language exercises for future Erasmus+ students. According to students’ answers, a four-week exchange period is long enough for both weaker as well as more advanced students to make progress in English. All of them also confirmed that the most used language skills during the mobility were speaking and listening. For that reason, the practical part of the MA thesis presents four examples of exercises focusing on woodworking vocabulary, listening and speaking.

The response of saturated soils to a dynamic load
Stanislav Lenart, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This paper presents the two most significant types of deformation behavior fordynamically loaded, saturated soil. Flow liquefaction and cyclic mobility deserve special attention because of the large deformations that accompany these two phenomena. The submergence of a railway-line embankment due to the newly built Sava-river accumulation reservoir in Boštanj and the large landslide that occurred in the Stože area in the Julian Alps are case histories in Slovenia where flow liquefaction and cyclic mobility were analyzed. The dynamic loading caused by railway traffic and possible seismic activity were taken into account. Material from these two sites, silty sand and lacustrine carbonate silt, were used in extensive laboratory research, with the objective to define a procedure for excess pore-water pressure-generation modeling in dynamically loaded saturated soil. It has been found recently that the change of the pore-water pressure is related to the dissipated energy density calculated from the hysteresis loops caused by dynamic loading. Based on the experimental results an empirical equation defining the generation of pore pressure during dynamic loading has been proposed. The equation is divided into two parts: the first part describing the residual pore-water pressure generation, and the second part describing the increment and decrement of pore-water pressure within the load cycle, the so-called temporary pore-water pressure change. The proper effective stresses and thus the stress path of the dynamically loaded soil can be defined by using the proposed energy-based numerical model. The proposed pore-pressure model can also be used in deformation-behavior modeling. It was observed from the experimental results that after a few cycles of dynamic loading the saturated soil starts to exhibit a very low stiffness at the beginning of a load cycle, after which it begins to strengthen. The strain developed during this softening phase represents the main share of the total strain. The occurrence and duration of this phase are related to the energy dissipated during the cyclic loading as well, and the relation between the dissipated energy, the excess pore pressure and the short-term flow during cyclic mobility, give us an opportunity for a simple response modeling of the dynamically loaded saturated soils.

Theoretical scope of EM and sustainability
Marina Zhuravskaya, Elena Morozova, 2016, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji

Opis: It is no secret that the amount of accumulated waste in Russia today is about 90 billion tons. And the situation is that distinct economic incentives for integrated waste management just do not exist (http://kn51.ru/news/society/ecology/2013/5/02/ekologiya-kak-indikator-zrelosti-obshchestva.html). Many people believe that there are only two ways of development: go back to primitive society or go forward to the inevitable destruction of the environment. However, there is an alternative that combines the preservation of the environment and social well-being – it is the concept of sustainable development.

Social classes and social mobility in Slovenia and Europe
Eva Jereb, Marko Ferjan, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In closed social systems the social position of an individual is determined by the social position of the family into which he or she was born, whereas in open social systems mobility from one social class to another is possible. This paper concerns the relationship between the class position an individual actually occupies and the class into which he or she was born. First the concept of social class is described and different types of social mobility are presented. Than the research methodology is described and the results are presented and discussed. At the end of the paper certain comparisons to other European countries are made.
