Corporate governance of slovenian and german telecommunications companies
Natalija Pauman, 2019, magistrsko delo

Opis: In the master’s thesis we researched corporate governance and the quality of corporate governance. Corporate governance and management of organizations stem from the need and the desire for the existence and development of an organization. It is necessary to establish certain kind of monitoring and controlling in organizations, which we define with the term “corporate governance”. Corporate governance is the system of regulating and controlling corporate conduct and of balancing interests of all shareholders and other stakeholders to which company has influence. The interests of directors and shareholders may be in contrast. The purpose of corporate governance is to find a way to satisfy the interest of both, the board of directors and the shareholders, and at the same time to create long-team and sustainable growth for the company. Corporate governance is extremely important for individual organizations and, consequently, for their business. Compering different organizations, their corporate governance is done in different ways. Corporate governance in developed countries and leading economies is certainly different than in smaller and less developed countries. In this case, arises a question what kind of corporate governance can be labelled as “good” or “first-class” corporate governance. In order to improve corporate governance practices, various legal regulations and other forms of binding and less binding rules, recommendations, codes and standards have been developed. Quality is extremely important for organizations, therefore several methods, methodologies and indexes for measuring the quality of corporate governance have been developed. The purpose of methods is to evaluate and compare the quality of corporate governance between individual companies and between different countries. The results can serve for developing measures to improve corporate governance practices. At the same time, findings can serve to modify and supplement existing legislation and recommendations. The corporate governance index, as a measure of the quality of corporate governance processes, can also be one of the important indicators of the company's potential in order to access to new sources of capital and to reduce the capital´s costs in comparison with other companies. The main purpose of the master's thesis is to study corporate governance and its impact on the business of Slovenian and German telecommunication companies. We make comparison between following companies: Telekom Slovenije, d.d., A1 Slovenija, d.d., Deutsche Telekom AG and Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG. The quality of corporate governance in selected companies was measured with the SEECGAN methodology and index. The methodology was designed to measure the quality of corporate governance. It ensures transparency and provides a structured overview of the main areas of corporate governance between different companies. In empirical part of master’s thesis, we found out that Telekom Slovenije, d.d. has "first-class" quality of corporate governance, A1 Slovenia, d.d. has a "good" quality of corporate governance, Deutsche Telekom AG has a "first-class" quality of corporate governance and Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG has a "good" quality of corporate governance. We found out that both countries have companies with “first-class” and “good” corporate governance. The quality of corporate governance is not related to the national origin or country of operation of the company. One of the main finding of the analysis is that there are no significant differences between the quality of corporate governance in specific areas of SEECGAN index in Slovenian and German companies.

The development of sustainable mobility plan (SUMP), example for city of Sinj, Croatia
Anđelo Marunica, 2019, magistrsko delo

Opis: SUMP (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan) is an innovative way of planning urban traffic in order to meet the needs of citizens in a sustainable way. Unlike the traditional approach to traffic planning, SUMP places a special emphasis on citizen and other stakeholders involvement and participation, in which different decisions regarding various sectors such as traffic, spatial planning, economic development, social activities, health, safety, energy, etc. are coordinated . The SUMP concept for the city of Sinj proposes 30 measures compiled in 6 themed packages, which are expected to greatly improve the quality of traffic in the city, in addition to reducing air pollution and improving the quality of life for residents of Sinj, while simultaneously, to a certain extent, stimulating economic growth and reversing demographic decline which is currently affecting the municipality of Sinj.

Systems methodology for strategic decision-making in complex healthcare system
Tadeja Jere Lazanski, 2017, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Systems methodology as a support for strategic decision- making will be discussed in the paper. A society will be presented as a complex system, which is comprised of many smaller, complex systems as its component parts. The healthcare system is one of them. The support to the strategic decision-making in a healthcare system will be shown through systems thinking and systems modelling. We will develop models of a healthcare system in frame of a systems dynamics; a qualitative causal loop diagram (CLD), which helps us to discuss the challenges categorically and a quantitative model, which is a simulation model. Both models illustrate the discussed methodology.

Tourist farm service quality assessment
Karmen Pažek, Črtomir Rozman, 2010, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: Farm tourism shows a structure different from agriculture, forestry, and fishery; farm tourism is expanding, labour intensive, generates an influx of money, and maintains the service base in the region. Farm tourism is one of the most important supplementary activities and generates considerable secondary income. This paper present the developed methodology that will enable the ranking of tourist farms based on their service quality. This is accomplished through the use of the expert system based on the DEXi decision-making method. Using DEXi, the multi-criteria decision model for the assessment of farm tourism-s service quality was developed. The model was applied in practice on 7 vacation farms. The data from the questionnaires completed by farm guests and hosts was used as input data in the multi-attribute model and as an arbitrary estimation for the farm. The results of the model are shown as the assessments for individual farms. Out of seven chosen farms, four achieved the best possible estimation. Two of them achieved middle estimation. For the last tourist farm, where a data deficit was present, the model showed two final possible estimations (very good or good and bad - depends on value of missing attributes.

The COMPRAM methodology and comlpex societal problems
Ingvill Mochmann, Dorien DeTombe, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: During and after wars children are born where the father is a member of an occupation or peacekeeping force and the mother a local citizen. Securing the human rights of children born of war is often highly complex and involves researchers and practitioners from different disciplines. The Compram methodology on handling complex societal problems will be applied to analyse whether the methodology is suitable on this group of war-affected children. The Compram methodology is a multi disciplined, multi level, multi actor methodology based on the theory of societal complexity. The methodology gives guidelines to handle real life complex societal problems.

Managing IT services
Miha Kastelic, Peter Peer, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Managing information technology services is becoming an increasingly difficult task. To support the management of IT services, different standards and methodologies have been developed. ITIL (short for IT Infrastructure Library) is the most commonly used best practice approach to effective IT Service Management to date. ITIL focuses primarily on what to do in order to ensure value of IT services, but it does not explain how to achieve this effectively. This shortcoming can be overcome by complementing the framework with other quality approaches to service management. In this context several methodologies are mentioned including the use of Six Sigma (6s) methodology. The statistical nature of the Six Sigma methodology enables us to analyze the vast amount of data gathered from the field of IT. Only after these value-based metrics are obtained can the overall health of the IT service be determined and the necessary improvement measures made. The aim of this paper is to analyze in detail the two approaches. We will establish a common link between them, with it the opportunity to complement ITIL with the Six Sigma methodology, and consequently set foundations for introduction of necessary measurable changes.

Designing a strategic mobility plan for small and medium sized cities using a multi-stage methodology
Uroš Kramar, Tina Cvahte, Marjan Sternad, Darja Topolšek, 2015, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Urban mobility is one of the crucial factors of quality of life in cities. Therefore, an effective mobility system and its holistic planning are of utmost importance for sustainable and quality development of urban centres. This paper focuses on holistic and integrated strategic planning of a mobility system. The used multi % step methodology was tested on a case of a city of Celje, Slovenia. With the first round of focus groups, information about the specific urban mobility system was gathered which was used to develop a SWOT matrix. This was the foundation for the execution of a second round of focus groups, where the output was a proposition for a strategic plan for mobility development in small and medium sized cities.

A discussion on new necessity-based method for requirements list elicitation and requirements classification
Špela Brglez, Bojan Dolšak, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Establishing appropriate requirements is essential in early phases of product design for obtaining enough information and in order not to over-constrain the product. Consequences of failing to do so are discussed. An overview of state-of-the-art methodologies for eliciting and classifying requirements is presented. Existing elicitation methods tend not to focus on the requirements content and the classification methods overlook the missing requirements. To overcome this gap a new method for requirements elicitation and classification is proposed. It defines the universally necessary requirements, product- specific necessary requirements and optional requirements. The appropriateness of the method is verified with a case-study on air ventilation register box and expert opinions. The positive contribution of the method is confirmed through evaluation with novice design engineers.

Standardization of business decision-making
Vojko Potočan, 2000, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Enterprise as a business system (BS) assures its own existence and development by a high quality of its business. Its business results can be considerably improved, if the BS creates its system of the standard decision-making processes (DM), which provides for a high quality of business DM and its methodological uniformity in different BS's. Within the standardisation, we establish both a standardised research methodology and a standardisation of contents, and develop a system of standardised DM processes in the BS. We uniform the DM by both a holistic methodological and a partial contents standardisation. We define it on the basis of our holistic investigation into it, which includes the institutional, functional, and factors aspects. These factors are defined and distributed in the fields of DM and both the general and the special standard systems of DM factors are developed. We study the DM process thoroughly, while the acquired knowledge on the process is formalised and developed into a cybernetic model. A general system of DM and its corresponding model is created in order to provide for the requisite holism and complexity of DM, as well as the uniformity of its consideration. The selected problem is solved when we complete the standardisation of the DM, which includes the conception of the standard methodology, its application and the development of its standardised manner.
