Peer support as part of scaling-up integrated care in patients with type 2 diabetes and arterial hypertension at the primary healthcare level : a study protocol

Opis: Introduction: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) and arterial hypertension (AH) are among the greatest challenges facing health systems worldwide and require comprehensive patient-centred care. The key to successful management in chronic patients is self-management support, which was found to be only weakly implemented in Slovenia. The aim of the study is to develop an evidence-based model of peer support for people with T2D and AH at the primary healthcare level in Slovenia, which could represent a potential solution for upgrading integrated care for these patients. Methods: A prospective interventional, mixed-methods pilot study will begin by recruiting approximately 40 eligible people with T2D and AH through purposive sampling. The participants will receive structured training, led by a specialist nurse, to become trained peer supporters. Each will voluntarily share their knowledge and experience at monthly group meetings with up to 10 people with T2D and AH over a three-month period in the local community. Data will be collected through interviews and focus groups and questionnaires about socio-demographic and clinical data, knowledge about T2D and AH, participants’ quality of life, level of empowerment and acceptability of the intervention. Expected results: The study will provide an evidence-based model for integrating peer support into the local community. It is expected that the intervention will prove feasible and acceptable with educational, psychosocial and behavioural benefits. Conclusion: Peer support through empowerment of people with T2D and AH, family members and other informal caregivers in the local community could scale-up the integrated care continuum and contribute to sustainability of the healthcare system.

Uporaba digitalnih tehnologij s strani managerjev v času pandemije in po njej

Opis: Diplomsko delo obravnava uporabo digitalnih tehnologij managerjev v času pandemije covida-19 ter njihovo uporabo in uveljavitev v delovnem procesu, tudi po koncu epidemije. Digitalne tehnologije prispevajo k prilagodljivosti zaposlenih, saj omogočajo delo od doma oziroma delo na daljavo, hkrati pa ohranjajo produktivnost. Ta prilagodljivost je bila še posebej ključna med epidemijo, ko so bili fizični stiki omejeni. Podjetjem omogoča hitro prilagajanje spreminjajočim se razmeram, hkrati pa delavcem omogoča, da uskladijo svoje obveznosti z zahtevami osebnega življenja. Povečujeta se njihovo zadovoljstvo pri delu in predanost. Ključna digitalna orodja, ki so bila med pandemijo še posebej dragocena, vključujejo orodja za podporo sestankov in videoklice platforme za sodelovanje pri izmenjavi dokumentov in vodenja projektov ter napredna komunikacijska orodja, kot so aplikacije za komuniciranje in virtualni delovni prostori. Poleg tega je ključnega pomena upoštevati varnostne posledice uporabe tehnologij glede na porast transakcij in komunikacij, ki povečujejo tveganje kibernetskih groženj in kršitev varnosti podatkov. Zato je ključnega pomena, da vodje in zaposleni pridobijo znanja in spretnosti za uporabo digitalnih orodij, podjetja pa morajo izvajati inovativne varnostne ukrepe za zaščito podatkov in delovne sile. V diplomskem delu smo raziskovali, kako je uvedba orodij vplivala na učinkovitost delovnih postopkov in zadovoljstvo zaposlenih v podjetjih med izbruhom covida-19. Poleg tega smo proučili pristope, ki jih uporabljajo organizacije pri uvajanju tehnologij v svoje dejavnosti, in izzive, s katerimi so se pri tem srečale. Na koncu so podana priporočila za izkoriščanje potenciala vseh tehnologij na delovnih mestih za povečanje prilagodljivosti, produktivnosti in zadovoljstva zaposlenih, ne glede na zdravstvene ali druge izredne razmere.

SME top management perception of environmental uncertainty and gender differences during COVID-19

Opis: Environmental scanning has become increasingly crucial for an organisation’s existence and a matter of interest for scholars and professionals. This research presents an outline of the situation in the field of multidimensional environmental scanning, focusing on Slovenian micro, small and medium sized organisations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the paper aims to examine if top managers perceive the multidimensional (external) environment as uncertain and if there have been gender differences in multidimensional (external) environmental uncertainty perception during the COVID-19 pandemic. We researched the field of ecological, social, technological, economic, and political–legal environments. The nonparametric Mann–Whitney U test and descriptive statistics were used to test the research hypotheses. The results show that top managers are not aware enough of multidimensional environmental uncertainty. They do not perceive the ecological and social environment as unpredictable at all. Among the studied environments, they perceive the political–legal environment as most unpredictable. There are no statistically significant gender differences in perceptions of ecological, social, technological, economic, and political–legal environmental uncertainty. We suggest SME top managers pay more attention to environmental uncertainty and use environmental scanning methods to achieve more sustainable development.

Crisis management and CSR in Slovenian companies : the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic

Opis: The main aim of this article was to outline how the appearance of COVID-19 changed the global competitiveness of Slovenian companies through the lenses of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and crisis management. Based on concepts of CSR and crisis management, we analyzed the responses of companies to ensure their competitiveness in a crisis situation. Two surveys among managers in Slovenian companies were carried out, one in March 2020 (N = 618) and the other in May 2020 (N = 486). Our results showed that internationally oriented companies responded more comprehensively and proactively to the challenges of doing business in the COVID-19 crisis compared to the companies that had operated mainly in the domestic market during this period. The analysis also showed that internationally oriented companies responded to the COVID-19 crisis with more comprehensive measures also using the concept of CSR and crisis management in comparison with companies that, in the time of the pandemic, operated mainly in the domestic market and used fewer principles of CSR and crisis management. The main theoretical implications of this survey are related to CSR development. They emphasize the interdependent importance of experience and impact in international business in connection with the concept of CSR and crisis management in times of COVID-19. Practical implications include proposals to streamline operations to maintain competitiveness and to take advantage of new business opportunities and effects, which are also encouraged through the use of the CSR concept and crisis management.

Big data in sports : a bibliometric and topic study

Opis: Background: The development of the sports industry was impacted by the era of Big Data due to the rapid growth of information technology. Unfortunately, that has become an increasingly challenging Issue. Objectives: The purpose of the research was to analyze the scientific production of Big Data in sports and sports-related activities in two databases, Web of Science and Scopus. Methods/Approach: Bibliometric analysis and topic mining were done on 51 articles selected after four exclusion criteria (written in English, journal articles, the final stage of publication, and a detailed review of all full texts). The software tool used was Statistica Data Miner. Results: We found that the first articles appeared in Scopus in 2013 and WoS in 2014. USA and China are countries which produced the most articles. The most common research areas in WoS and Scopus are Public environmental and occupational health, Medicine, Environmental science ecology, and Engineering. Conclusions: We conducted that further research and literature review will be required as this is a broad and new topic.

Integrating artificial intelligence into a talent management model to increase the work engagement and performance of enterprises

Opis: The purpose of the paper is to create a multidimensional talent management model with embedded aspects of artificial intelligence in the human resource processes to increase employees' engagement and performance of the enterprise. The research was implemented on a sample of 317 managers/owners in Slovenian enterprises. Multidimensional constructs of the model include several aspects of artificial intelligence implementation in the organization's activities related to human resource management in the field of talent management, especially in the process of acquiring and retaining talented employees, appropriate training and development of employees, organizational culture, leadership, and reducing the workload of employees, employee engagement and performance of the enterprise. The results show that AI supported acquiring and retaining a talented employees, AI supported appropriate training and development of employees, appropriate teams, AI supported organizational culture, AI supported leadership, reducing the workload of employees with AI have a positive effect on performance of the enterprise and employee engagement. The results will help managers or owners create a successful work environment by implementing artificial intelligence in the enterprise, leading to increased employee engagement and performance of the enterprise. Namely, our results contribute to the efficient implementation of artificial intelligence into an enterprise and give owners or top managers a broad insight into the various aspects that must be taken into account in business management in order to increase employee engagement and enterprise’s competitive advantage.

Evolution of organisational agility : a bibliometric study

Opis: Purpose: This study applies bibliometric analysis to explore the evolution of the research paradigm of agility related to management and organisations. Design/methodology/approach: Authors prepared a quantitative study of the review of selected articles using co-citation analysis and bibliographic coupling. Based on the bibliometric analyses, the evolution of the agility field (past, present, and future of agility research) was prepared. Findings: Emergent themes focus on the importance of agility in interpreting organisational responses in the context of issues as diverse as information systems and business intelligence systems, market orientation, strategic alignment and social computing. Future research needs to focus on digitisation in conjunction with informatisation, an important topic for creating a new organisational culture and knowledge management through increased collaboration between humans and machines. Originality/value: As the authors are aware, this study is one of the first to choose to show the overall development and importance of agility through quantitative bibliometric methods used to assess the value and contribution of scientific productivity and its impact on development.

Digitalizacija registra prostovoljcev v črni gori

Opis: The present thesis focuses on the development of a platform that will digitalize the volunteer log in Montenegro. To best understand the needs of our platform, we first need to gain a better understanding of what volunteering is, how it is carried out, and by whom, all taking into consideration the legal context. The currently existing solution for logging volunteer hours is highly impractical and seemingly has a low number of uses, indicating a need for renewal. In Montenegro, volunteering as well as any efforts volunteers put in have low recognition. Our solution is an easy-to-use, web platform developed in Flutter that enables seamless tracking of all volunteer services and activities and sets the foundation for a digital platform for everything related to volunteering on a national level. The research identifies the necessary functionalities through questionnaires for volunteers and interviews with volunteer managers and coordinators. Additionally, it explores the legal outline and how it navigates the desired outcome. Finally, an application is presented alongside the recommended improvements that will be added in the future. The developed platform allows for easy and comprehensive volunteer activity data tracking and helps streamline the volunteer management process. Its implementation would help with the national recognition of volunteer, as well as the skills and competencies one acquires through it.

Predlog strategije razvoja Plavalne zveze Slovenije

Opis: V diplomskem delu je predstavljen predlog strategije razvoja Plavalne zveze Slovenije na podlagi metod strateškega managementa. Organizacija trenutno nima jasno definirane strategije razvoja, zato smo na podlagi strateške analize ugotovili, da je zanjo najprimernejša diferenciacijska strategija, ki temelji na njenem položaju na trgu s ponudbo kakovostnih storitev in edinstvenih programov, kar jo razlikuje od konkurence. Opravili smo podroben pregled številnih podsistemov organizacije ter z oceno položaja izluščili njene glavne prednosti in slabosti ter priložnosti in nevarnosti. Od številnih ugotovitev velja omeniti priložnost izboljšanja na finančnem področju, in sicer v smeri povečanja lastnih prihodkov organizacije ter boljšega izvajanja nadzora nad porabo sredstev. Pridobljeni rezultati analize in ocene položaja v povezavi z napovedmi razvoja v okolju so bili osnova za oblikovanje predloga srednjeročne razvojne strategije. V njej smo določili štiri glavne stebre razvoja organizacije, ki smo jim priredili 12 strateških ciljev in 49 ukrepov. Ti bodo zvezi in njenim članicam pomagali k učinkovitim načinom uporabe in upravljanja sredstev ter prinašali koristi in zagotavljali dejavnosti za zaščito interesov vseh deležnikov.

Logistics aspect of organizational culture and normative commitment in electric energy supply chain

Opis: Companies are increasingly aware that employees are an important factor in success, so they pay more and more attention to them. Because of that, organizational culture and normative commitment are also included as ex-tremely important factors. The research includes a systematic and comprehensive review of the literature and at the same time obtaining and analysing data from practice through a survey. The research focuses on employees from the logistics departments in the supply chain of electronic component production and supply. Group of com-panies across Europe were included in the survey (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Re-public, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine). The research demonstrates the realization that the types of classification of organizational culture have different effects on direct and indirect normative commitment. Gender differences were also found. The re-search-based on the calculated average mean values shows the classifications of organizational culture and nor-mative commitment. The latter follows the organizational culture with minor deviations. The order of classifica-tion of organizational culture follows the current economic situation, where according to the studied criteria, the first is a culture of the market. The research shows that men’s rate of normative commitment is better than wom-en's, while in organizational culture the situation is exactly the opposite. One of the most significant findings is based on the Pearson correlation coefficient with the SPSS program was found that, according to the classifica-tion, Hierarchy culture has a positive effect on indirect normative commitment.
