1. From resistance to acceptance: The role of NIMBY phenomena in sustainable urban development and tourismDaniela Dvornik Perhavec, Rok Kamnik, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The role of NIMBY (“Not in My Backyard”) phenomena in sustainable urban development and tourism was analyzed, with a focus on stakeholder dynamics and implications for spatial planning. Based on an analysis of worldwide case studies, the main barriers and opportunities presented by these phenomena were identified, including the impact of project preparation time (tp) and benefit realization time (tb ). A mixed methods approach was used, combining qualitative analysis of case studies with quantitative evaluation of project timelines. The results show that effective stakeholder engagement significantly reduces tp, while maximizing tb increases long-term benefits for communities and the environment. This research emphasizes the systemic interdependence of urban planning, environmental sustainability, tourism, and cultural heritage preservation, offering actionable insights for policymakers and developers. The conclusions emphasize the importance of participatory approaches to ensure equitable and sustainable urban transformation. 2. The link between asset risk management and maintenance performance : a study of industrial manufacturing companiesDamjan Maletič, H. Pačaiová, A. Nagyová, Matjaž Maletič, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine risk management practices and their impact on performance. Specifically, the study aimed to examine risk management practices as part of physical asset management and their impact on maintenance management and its performance.
Methodology/Approach: The empirical data were obtained from 76 manufacturing companies. Partial Least Squares Path Modeling (PLS-PM) was applied to evaluate the measurement and structural model.
Findings: The results emphasized the importance of integrating risk management practices into asset management processes in order to improve performance outcomes.
Research Limitation/Implication: This study contributes to a better understanding of how companies could achieve higher performance results by implementing risk management practices. The results of this study can help managers identify key asset risk management practices. Despite the important implications that can be derived from this study, further research that would extend the model to include additional performance measures and/or asset management dimensions would be of great importance.
Originality/Value of paper: By analyzing the interrelationships between asset risk management practices and their direct and indirect effects on maintenance performance, the study provides important insights for the development of strategies to promote the novel and important discipline of asset management. 3. Maintenance of heavy trucks : an international study on truck driversSebastjan Škerlič, Edgar Sokolovskij, Vanja Erčulj, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Since the implementation of modern approaches in operation maintenance, drivers are expected to be integrated into the entire system of maintenance in order to take over the professional competencies of maintenance workers. For this purpose, an international study was conducted on a sample of 249 truck drivers, with the aim to determine how maintenance in transport companies affects the role of heavy truck drivers in fleet maintenance. Based on the developed SEM model, it was determined that building an efficient maintenance infrastructure in transport companies enables the active participation of truck drivers in the company’s maintenance system. Drivers are capable of repairing minor failures, but only if they are proactive, which will affect their preventive behaviour. This can greatly benefit transport companies, as the results show that the vehicles are utilised more efficiently and in a better technical condition. The results therefore represent an important guideline for improving maintenance in transport companies, developing new competencies of truck drivers and upgrading existing knowledge in the development of modern operation maintenance. 4. System design of a vehicle based on the matrix approach using functional analysis of the maintenanceDušan Mežnar, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The use of extended standard functional analysis of maintenance in the design phase of vehicle structure analysis is presented for the first time, where a matrix of the degree of importance of modules or parts, a matrix size between costs and benefits (costs–benefits), and a logistic support matrix (support index and repair time) are used. The use of these methods allows a designer to be able to determine, in the very early phase of the construction process, the important factors (structure, component price, reliability, repair costs, response time, logistic supportability) that have a major impact on vehicle maintenance. Extended functional analysis also allows us to define critical structures in the project specification of vehicles. A crucial issue in functional analysis is the very extensive implementation of research, drawing conclusions and findings with the basic goal of determining a set of indicators for the verification of assumptions and hypotheses. 5. Commit-level software change intent classification using a pre-trained transformer-based code modelTjaša Heričko, Boštjan Šumak, Sašo Karakatič, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Software evolution is driven by changes made during software development and maintenance. While source control systems effectively manage these changes at the commit level, the intent behind them are often inadequately documented, making understanding their rationale challenging. Existing commit intent classification approaches, largely reliant on commit messages, only partially capture the underlying intent, predominantly due to the messages’ inadequate content and neglect of the semantic nuances in code changes. This paper presents a novel method for extracting semantic features from commits based on modifications in the source code, where each commit is represented by one or more fine-grained conjoint code changes, e.g., file-level or hunk-level changes. To address the unstructured nature of code, the method leverages a pre-trained transformer-based code model, further trained through task-adaptive pre-training and fine-tuning on the downstream task of intent classification. This fine-tuned task-adapted pre-trained code model is then utilized to embed fine-grained conjoint changes in a commit, which are aggregated into a unified commit-level vector representation. The proposed method was evaluated using two BERT-based code models, i.e., CodeBERT and GraphCodeBERT, and various aggregation techniques on data from open-source Java software projects. The results show that the proposed method can be used to effectively extract commit embeddings as features for commit intent classification and outperform current state-of-the-art methods of code commit representation for intent categorization in terms of software maintenance activities undertaken by commits. 8. The regulations are clear in cases where the company acquires their own shares simultaneously with the payment of the purchase price. This article will pertain to the proper application of these regulations according to Slovenian law, specifically in cases where the company pays the purchase price for their own shares, which it intends to withdraw after acquisition, in instalments, and acquires their own shares only after paying the last instalment of the purchase price.
