E-learning within the framework of the Czech university system
Milan Klement, Jiří Dostál, 2013, pregledni znanstveni članek

Opis: During the last few years, e-learning has become an integral part of tertiary education systems, not only within the framework of blended, but, to an increasingly larger extent, also of full-time study modes, accredited and implemented at Czech universities. However, along with its large-scale deployment, a number of problems have emerged, which resulted in the formulation of new research hypotheses. Among the most important ones are those regarding the influence of e-learning on the quality of education, the efficient ways of motivating and mobilizing students, and the creation and development of particular competences. There are many external, as well as internal influencing factors, acting more or less covertly, to a greater or lesser intensity. It is highly desirable to identify, describe, analyze, and minimize or maximize their influence in order to prevent them from having a massive negative impact, conditioned by fashion trends, on the quality of tertiary education.

Learning English as a Second Language in Adults
Saša Šprah, 2015, magistrsko delo

Opis: The thesis on Learning English as a Second Language in Adults presents adult learning and findings connected with it in the theoretical part. This part also includes characteristics of adult learning which have an impact on the learning process and dynamics of work. Memory and motivation, wide concepts, and important features are also presented in terms of adult learning. Last but not least, age factor also affects learning a foreign language. In English, the most affected language fields are pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. The empirical part presents motives and motivation of adult learners that learn English as a foreign language. We also presented the results of didactic features and experiences that the learners gained during the learning process. We found out that motive, didactic features in learners’ experiences are in a correlation with the age factor.

LEARNING AND USING FOREIGN LANGUAGES AT A DIDACTIC FARM
Simona Eder, 2015, diplomsko delo

Opis: Learning and using foreign languages in a natural environment, in real-life situations at the didactic farm (at the Eder farm) is the theme of this diploma thesis. Nowadays primary schools are more and more aware of teaching different real-life skills outside the school’s own four walls. They do not expect their pupils to learn just for good grades, they want them to learn and prepare for possible situations in their future life. The first part of the thesis presents the history of teaching and learning outside the classroom, defines the meaning of the term "didactic farm" and presents the Eder didactic farm, its history, ethnological collection, offers, target groups, possible types of visits and topics. On the basis of four possible foreign language courses during the visits to the didactic farm the results, advantages and disadvantages of teaching foreign language at the didactic farm, responses of children, teachers’ opinions and possibilities of further developments are presented. The hypotheses have all been confirmed, with the remark, that the children have fewer difficulties coping with new ways of FL learning and using then teachers. The primary aim of the thesis was to find possible improvements for the integration of didactic farms and schools in the local or wider school district. Another goal was to invite them to learn and use foreign languages at a didactic farm that provides appropriate offers, attractive and diverse themes and contributes to the greater prevalence of such foreign language learning in natural environment.

Distance education models and new communication trends in education
Ivan Gerlič, 2007, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Last decade's technological development in the field of information technology has boosted the range of varieties of its use in the distance education and given new dimensions to this type of education. Distance-learning nowadays is practised by several theory's, each differing from the other in its formal access, in the analyse of its teaching and learning materials, in its ways and range of counselling and the range of its communication with the participants, as well as in its didactic concept of preparing and forming learning materials, etc. Distance education is important criterion for new communication trends in education. Therefore it shall be covered more thoroughly in this work.

Using didactic enclosures as teaching methods and social forms for active learning in chemical education
Darinka Sikošek, 2008, strokovni članek

Opis: Innovative teaching and learning can be defined as the effective use of various didactic materials combined with the methods and social forms of active learning. We carried out an evaluation of didactic enclosures as the initial stage in the methodology of our scientific strategy for researching the project "Didactic Redevelopment of Chemical Education in Slovenian Elementary Education". To obtain the results of our evaluation of didactic enclosures we concentrated on the innovative approach of using enclosures for just games and video. These types of enclosures are used in didactic game methods and video methods, as well as various problem-solving sheets (individual and group) that are typically used for individualised group work. We put special emphasis on furthering the development of programmed sequences, which are essential in effectively utilizing the wellknown teaching aid called the "Periodic Table in Cube".

Implementation, effectiveness and experience with remote laboratory in engineering education
Andreja Rojko, Matjaž Debevc, Darko Hercog, 2009, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Modern educational methods bring many new challenges from the pedagogical, as well as from the technical aspect. One of the more significant is the integration of information and communication technology into the educational process. These is particularly noticeable in the engineering education where the requests of the industry for a faster and more efficient acquisition of knowledge and practical skills lead to a constant search for new solutions in the learning process which would attract and motivate students, as well as be user friendly. This is especially difficult to be reached with the practical education which is usually composed of laboratory exercises that are bound to a specific time and place. One of the possible solutions are the remote laboratories which offer the possibility of the implementation of real remote laboratory experiments in the educational institutionsć laboratories and, therefore, enhance the studentsć knowledge and capability for dealing with some technical problems without the need for their physical presence in the laboratory. In the article, the example of a successful implementation of the remote laboratory in the field of engineering, developed and operating in the Moodle environment, is presented. The laboratory does not only represent the framework for the experiment implementation, but it also offers courses with complete documentation, therefore courses can be performed on distance. As an example, the case of the most widely used course from remote laboratory is presented, i.e., the ĆControl of nonlinear mechanismĆ course. Special attention is given to the description of the booking process for remote experiments, the execution of remote experiments and the applied user interface. The evaluation of the interface usability from the point of view of end users was performed via the acknowledged SUMI method. Additionally, another questionnaire was prepared in order to investigate the studentsć opinion about working in the remote laboratory. The results have shown that the presented remote laboratory is user friendly and accepted by both teachers and students as a suitable and interesting supplement to the conventional laboratory exercises.

Innovations and lifelong learning in sustainable organization
Jasmina Žnidaršič, Eva Jereb, 2011, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Innovation and knowledge are two of key factors for sustainable development of company or organization. Particularly in the current period of economic crisis it is crucial to promote lifelong learning and creativity to contribute innovative solutions to various problems. Lifelong learning makes a significant contribution to awareness of the importance of innovation and creativity for sustainable development of organization. In this paper we explore if respondents from Slovenian companies think that innovation and lifelong learning is important for sustainable development of company. Presented are the results of a survey conducted in 67 large and medium-sized enterprises in Slovenia where we upon respondents' judgment examine the correlation between the innovativeness level and lifelong learning, investing in innovativeness and competitive advantage and the promotion of lifelong learning and competitive advantage of the organization. Also the answers to the questions if lifelong learning contributes to the sustainable development of organization and if more the organization takes care of sustainable development the bigger is its competitive advantage before equal bidders are given.
