SVONAR : a new quantitative method for studying learner satisfaction
Peter Kokol, Slavko Cvetek, Marko Kokol, Petra Kokol, Matej Urbas, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: We investigated studentsʼ feelings and well-being during the lesson. We were working on a problem of how to adjust teaching in the secondary school and achieve that students will feel as good as possible and better follow the instruction. A hypothesis was set that, by measuring the desired length of lesson and factors which influence lesson length, we can measure and influencestudent satisfaction. Based on this hypothesis we investigated the factors which have influence on lesson length in a particular subject. Data were collected by means of a questionnaire. The subjects were students of II. gimnazija (secondary grammar school). The responses were analysed to obtain correlations between the factors (average grade in a subject, boredness and likableness of the teacher, length and level of boreness of lesson content, fear of the teacher) and lesson length. Results suggest that, by modifying these factors we could change studentsʼ opinions, that is, increase their willingness to attend classes. The set hypothesis was confirmed and it was shown that by using simple diagrammatic models built on the basis of linear regression we can identify and study the influence of these factors on lesson length.

Strategic role of maintenance in logistics of tomorrow
Mladen Jakovčić, Bojan Rosi, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Despite the fact that maintenance of array of machinery and equipment is often considered as one of the backup processes or operative functions, its reliable and safe performance is extremely important for every day-to-day routine work, especially operations related to logistics. The latter is interdisciplinary professional and scientific activity which combines variety of operations and subsystems, including the maintenance, which is the subject of research in this paper. It is important to bear in mind that any object invented or fabricated by man needs maintenance. It is simply impossible to discuss comprehensive and quality logistics without considering the function of maintenance, i.e. providing reliable function of logistic machinery and equipment that is overall equipment effectiveness.

Asymmetric and nonlinear impact of attribute-level performance on overall customer satisfaction in the context of car servicing of four European automotive brands in Slovenia
Slavko Ažman, Boštjan Gomišček, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The paper examines the nonlinearity and asymmetry between the satisfaction with individual attributes of the service and overall satisfaction in the context of passenger car servicing in Slovenia. The data set that was analysed was acquired from a regular survey on customer satisfaction with vehicle repair and maintenance services of four European automotive brands in Slovenia, carried out in 2005 and 2006 through 12,941 computer-assisted telephone interviews. Specifically, this study utilizes regression analysis in order to test the asymmetry and nonlinearity of the link between the attribute-level performance and overall satisfaction. The results show that the influence of dissatisfaction is different from the influence of satisfaction, and that the influence of satisfaction on overall satisfaction is greater than the influence of dissatisfaction. The results also show that nonlinearity is applicable to certain attributes of vehicle servicing, but not to all. We can sum up that precise knowledge of the correlation between the attribute-level performance of vehicle servicing and overall service satisfaction is important. Results show that caution must be employed in the evaluation of the importance of individual attributes on overall satisfaction, since the importance can change depending on the level of satisfaction. It appears that focusing on improving satisfaction is more important than focusing on lessening dissatisfaction. Results also show that the improvement of attribute-level performance offers diminishing returns; therefore, selective investment in activities for increasing customer satisfaction is sensible if satisfaction levels are already relatively high.

Analysis of the satisfaction of the elder care home residents and suggestions for the quality improvements of elder care home service delivery
Suzana Bračič, Majda Pšunder, 2012, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: This article looks at the problem of aging and the characteristics of institutional care in elder care homes. Also, the results of the empirical study carried out in 15 publicly owned and 15 privately run residential homes for elderly persons distributed across Slovenia are presented here. The aim of this research was to determine the level of resident satisfaction in both privately or publicly-owned residential homes. The research findings are the basis for the outlined improvement suggestions in residential home service delivery with the aim to increase resident satisfaction with staff performance.
