The focus is on understanding the proper ways in which degraded zone and dilapidated buildings ought to be revitalized, but also the benefits of revitalizing city cores. It is a multifaceted discourse, thus, the research focuses on industrial heritage and brownfield development in the context of Sarajevo’s City Planning Strategy, as well as, the concept of ruins. Arhitektura kot/za kulturo: muzej industrijske dediščine Maribora in kulturno-kreativni center Tezno : magistrsko delo
Maša Čelebić, 2021, magistrsko delo

Opis: The concept of the Maribor Industrial Heritage Trail, as a form of revitalization of the Maribor industrial zones and the development of the city's cultural content, is being proposed in this master's thesis in the narrow belt of the Tezno industrial zone. The project is based on detailed analyzes of the wider and narrower location, on the basis of which a concept proposal is given for the urban development of the Tezno zone and Perhavčeva cesta, as part of the Maribor Industrial Heritage Trail. The conceptual design of the Cultural and Creative Center Tezno and the entrance building of the Museum of Industrial Heritage of Maribor, which is proposed in the underground tunnels on Tezno, enriches the cultural, memorial and ecological content of this part of the trail. Through a theoretical overview and conceptual solutions, the relationship between the meaning of architecture as culture and architecture for culture is shown on the example of a master's project.

Industrial tourism as a chance for the diversification of the tourism of the Pécs-Mecsek region
Réka Pintér, János Csapó, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The present article intends to reveal the industrial tourism potential of the Pécs-Mecsek region in Hungary where we believe there is an adequate potential of the present industrial heritage but only a limited or rather poor utilisation is realised in the research area in this respect. The possible utilisation of the industrial heritage would be useful since the area is facing a stagnating tourism industry and position losses in the latter period so the authors believe that the chance for the renewal of tourism product development could also be provided by the industrial heritage tourism in the analysed region.

Historic train stations in Małopolskie Province during the railroad industry regression
Tomasz Chaberko, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Train stations tend to be the most representative constructions of the railroad industry. In many cases they are considered as interesting transportation and architectural monuments. In Poland, where the rail network was developed mostly before World War I, they constitute the most numerous group of monuments of Poland’s industrial era. The main goal of this paper is to indicate the historic train station buildings (those dating back to the period 1847-1918) in Małopolskie Province and determine their role in the modern railroad transportation system. As a backdrop for the discussion, a few background elements are included. They are: chosen architectural hallmarks of train stations in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, selected issues concerning the railroad history of Galicia and contemporary aspects of the railroad industry’s current regression. It is in this context that the state and prospective utilization of historic rail stations are portrayed.

Educationa Park - Technical Academy Maribor
Samanta Rebernak, 2016, magistrsko delo

Opis: The Educational Park - Technical Academy Maribor is a new concept with which we wish to enrich the city of Maribor. The main idea is to connect research and education with practical experience, start up companies and the production spaces of big companies. This broad content with multiple additions could be placed in the Business Industrial Zone Tezno, with certain modifications to the existing structures. This thesis deals with the evolution of industrial architecture and especially its importance to the city of Maribor. We present an in depth historical analysis of the company TAM, the predecessor of today’s BIZ Tezno, which was one of the biggest factories with research facilities and educational spaces in the former Yugoslavia. The urban master plan consists of the placement of the afore-mentioned content in the facilities of BIZ Tezno. The idea is to create an open, inviting space that would be a part of city life, with the addition of sports facilities, pool areas, a museum of industrial heritage, a concert hall, etc. As a continuation of the master plan, we also designed an industrial architectural model that shows how the concept of the Educational park can be implemented in the facilities of an established company. We also contemplated the use of renewable materials and, therefore, used timber in the construction. The facility would be an addition to the brand image of any company that values sustainable development and progress.
