Izračun donosnosti naložbe v sistem upravljanja identitet in pravic dostopa

Opis: V tej magistrski nalogi pregledamo osnove upravljanja uporabniških pravic in identitet, ter se podrobneje spustimo v izračun donosnosti naložbe v takšne sisteme. Ugotovimo kje in kako pridobiti potrebne podatke in kako jih uporabiti pri izračunih. Opravimo dejanske izračune in primerjamo rezultate, s pomočjo katerih lahko ugotovimo, če se takšen sistem v našem okolju splača in v kolikšnem času se nam investicija povrne. Predstavimo tudi spletno aplikacijo, katera nam avtomatizira približek izračuna z le nekaj potrebnimi osnovnimi podatki.

Linguistic Analysis of Expressing Gender, Gender Identity, Gender Inclusiveness, and Gender Neutrality in the Context of the Transgender Phenomenon in Contemporary English and Slovene Language

Opis: This thesis explores linguistic possibilities, limitations, and innovations concerning gender and gender identity in the context of the transgender phenomenon and how gender-inclusiveness or gender-neutrality affect their expression. To avoid ambiguity and misunderstandings, the terminological basis and theoretical background are presented and critically analysed, including English and Slovene sources; moreover, it is specified how certain terms are used in the following discussions. The thesis looks at early examples of gender-inclusive and gender-neutral English language as well as contemporary usages and innovations, especially in the field of alternative personal pronouns, and evaluates their practicality. Furthermore, linguistic and other issues are discussed in relation to the common transgender ideology through the analysis of selected examples of transgender people’s memoirs and other personal narratives (YouTube content), presenting their common perception of the state of being transgender and noting the stereotypies this entails or perpetuates. In relation to this, the thesis also reviews a recent study on the topic of transgender children’s gender development. The thesis then compares Slovene with English in the context of expressing gender to show some differences between them and notes certain grammatical and other limitations of Slovene. Additionally, the thesis provides its author’s own suggestions for English as well as Slovene gender-neutral language.

Blockchain-Based digital identity management

Opis: Centralized identity management systems are most commonly used. However, they pose certain threats to identity owners using them. Most of these problems revolve around users not being in control of their data. Self-sovereign identity seeks to aid this issue by putting the user in control. The research goal is to find out whether decentralized networks implementation in the domain of identity management can prove beneficial for the identity owners. This research addresses the following questions: • How is the user data managed on centralized servers and how can it be managed in a decentralized environment? • What are the blockchain features that could benefit the domain of digital identity management? • Can the blockchain-based solutions fulfill the requirements of SSI as well as GDPR regulations? • What new challenges do they bring and why has a massive adaptation of blockchain technology beyond the field of cryptocurrencies not yet occurred? Previous academic research and industry reports show the massive potential of Blockchain technology. However, there are only a few examples of how to implement this technology to overcome the barriers (Wadhwa, 2019). Blockchain offers immutability, which can be very valuable for certain purposes. However, it may not be an ideal solution for storing personal data. To offer a comprehensive solution, our use-case combines both centralized and decentralized data storage to protect the user data.

Upravljanje pooblastil za dostop do storitev in podatkov v oblaku

Opis: Raziskali bomo kaj najbolj aktualne oblačne storitve ponujajo in kakšne so pasti v primeru nedovoljenega dostopa. Med temi storitvami pa bomo izvedli tudi primerjavo različnih produktov. Z uporabo One Identity Manager bomo praktično povezali eno od prej omenjenih oblačnih storitev in pripravili procese za nadzor dostopa do te storitve in podatkov.

Impact of fear of identity theft and perceived risk on online purchase intention

Opis: Background and Purpose: Online activities are present in almost every aspect of people’s daily lives. Online purchases are also increasing each year and therefore it is important to investigate what influences online purchase intentions. Online purchase intentions are among everything else, influenced by the fear of identity theft and perceived risk. Design/Methodology/Approach: The online survey was conducted among 190 participants from Slovenia. The relations between the constructs of fear of financial losses, fear of reputational damage, perceived risk and online purchase intention were investigated. Results: The research showed that the relations between the constructs of fear of financial losses, fear of reputational damage, perceived risk are positive and the relation between the constructs of perceived risk and online purchase intention were negative. All of the relations were statistically significant. Conclusion: Understanding the impact of fear of identity theft and perceived risk on online purchase intention can be helpful for online sellers, because with these findings they can manage this fear and perceived risk to increase online purchase intention and address the risks accordingly. Online sellers should therefore regard new findings from the field of online sales. If an online store wants to have success in sales, they should consider all sides of customers’ desires as well as their restraints.

Black Identity in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Novel Americanah

Opis: The thesis analysed the formation of black identity in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel Americanah (2013). It aimed to uncover whether it is possible to talk about black identity, how it is formed and what influences its formation. It primarily explored how the author presented the formation of black identity in the protagonist of the novel through factors such as race, racism and racial terminology, body image, skin, hair and hair salons. In conducting the analysis of the problem, various critical approaches have been used, such as close reading of the text, formalist and stylistic analyses, review of literature and scholarly articles about the author and black identity, and the biographical method, followed by an evaluation and comprehensive interpretation of the topic in the scope of historical, social and linguistic contexts. Based on the examples presented, it appeared that exposure to various forms of racism, racial discrimination and marginalization, primarily connected to visual appearance, social position, treatment and opportunities (e.g., lighter skin and straighter hair improve one’s job prospects), led the protagonist to discover the meaning of being black in America. Thus, the research showed that the formation of black identity is influenced by the environment in which one lives and the social attitudes to which one is exposed.

Translation as the mutual reflection of neighbouring nations

Opis: In the context of Kornél Szenteleky’s volumes of short stories, novels and essays, this essay examines the types of disposition, life experience, typical topographies and genres of the author’s epic works. The roles, stock of phrases and experiences of deprivation present in the world of Szenteleky’s short stories, novels and essays relate his prose to several authors of a significant trend in Croatian, Serbian and Slovenian literature. The essay observes the existential spaces and boundaries of Szenteleky’s oeuvre, viewing it as going along the trails of existential experience of multiethnicity, minority identity, peripheral existence, cultural crossroads and traumas.

Organisational culture as organisational identity

Opis: The author discusses the notion of organisational culture and relates it to the notion of organisational identity. Culture as a group identity involves elements of stability, homogeneity and integrity but this can be very much altered through post-modern understanding of relationships between localities and their contexts. The research that was conducted in two primary schools in Slovenia is based on the symbolic notion of organisational culture. We explored what meanings are assigned to schools in public documents, during rituals and in teachers' and headteachers'narratives. The findings indicate the co-existence of two cultures and hence of two identities, ‘the public’ and ‘the private’, the former being closer to the corporate identity and the latter to multiple identities. The managers should be aware of both and should use the in-between space for on-going discussions and negotiations.

The impact of the implementation of a learning organization on the formation of a positive organizational identity

Opis: This paper examines the results of a broader research of the impact of the implementation of a learning organization on the formation of a positive organizational identity in the Slovenian entrepreneurial practice. On the basis of an analysis carried out in 2012 on a sample of 132 enterprises in Slovenia, the authors derived their own definition of organizational learning. With the aid of factor analysis and a regression model, we established that each factor defined in this paper independently affects the formation of a positive organizational identity. However, in the event of joint factors of the learning organization, only the factor empowerment and organization have a statistically significant impact on the formation of a positive organizational identity. The findings from our research are applicable in almost every company in Slovenia, where the management can use them to form the company’s organizational identity with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of the company’s business.
