1. Counting Hamiltonian cycles in 2-tiled graphs and dense challenge domain : doktorska disertacijaAlen Vegi Kalamar, 2025, doktorska disertacija Opis: In this doctoral dissertation, we address the counting of Hamiltonian cycles in 2-tiled graphs. These graphs are a generalization of the construction of large 2-crossing-critical graphs. We also address the study of the learning process involved in solving unsolved mathematical problems, integrating psychological theories of optimal experience (flow) and deliberate practice into a mathematical framework called the dense challenge domain.
The introduction presents fundamental graph theory concepts and an overview of ordinal numbers essential for understanding the core of the dissertation.
In the second chapter, known results from relevant related fields are introduced, along with the contributions of the doctoral dissertation.
In the third chapter, we address the problem of counting Hamiltonian cycles in 2-tiled graphs. First, we introduce basic concepts such as tile, 2-tile, tiled graphs, and 2-tiled graphs. This is followed by results leading to the characterization of Hamiltonian cycle types in 2-tiled graphs and then the introduction of algorithms that count each type of Hamiltonian cycles. We also demonstrate that if the family of 2-tiles used to construct 2-tiled graphs is finite, the algorithms are efficient. Further, we place large 2-crossing-critical graphs in the context of 2-tiled graphs and adapt the previously introduced algorithms to efficiently count all types of Hamiltonian cycles. To describe 2-crossing-critical graphs, we introduce an alphabet and show that 2-traversing and flanking Hamiltonian cycles can be counted by simply counting the occurrences of certain letters from the introduced alphabet. At the end of the chapter, we extend the counting of traversing Hamiltonian cycles to tiled graphs.
We attempt to formally capture the experience of this research work in the fourth chapter. We propose a formal mathematical framework for solving a common challenge in mathematical education: how to effectively use limited time to motivate students for research work. We formalize a theoretical mathematical structure called the dense challenge domain and introduce a structured decision process based on Csikszentmihalyi’s theory of flow, Duckworth’s concept of grit, Snowden’s Cynefin framework from decision theory, and Bokal-Steinbacher’s time usage optimization model. Unlike traditional educational research, which focuses on primary and secondary education, our approach emphasizes fostering mathematical thinking at the research level through optimal psychological experience. We formalize an algorithm for evolving the dense challenge domain, ensuring a balance between perceived skill and levels of challenge. We further prove that large 2-crossing-critical graphs satisfy the conditions of the dense challenge domain, providing a solid mathematical foundation for this methodology. Through three pilot studies, we demonstrate that this approach not only maintains student engagement but also leads to publishable research outcomes. 2. KULTURA ORGANIZACIJE: KAKŠNO DELOVNO KULTURO POTREBUJE PRODAJA ZA SVOJE DELO?Leon Pučko, 2025, magistrsko delo Opis: Organizacijska kultura je eden izmed ključnih dejavnikov uspešnosti sodobnih podjetij, saj vpliva na vedenje zaposlenih, njihovo motivacijo, zavzetost in načine doseganja poslovnih ciljev. Predstavlja skupek vrednot, prepričanj, norm in vedenjskih vzorcev, ki usmerjajo delovanje posameznikov in skupin znotraj organizacije. Magistrska naloga se osredotoča na raziskovanje organizacijske in delovne kulture v podjetju SG Automotive, s posebnim poudarkom na prodajnem oddelku. Temeljni namen je bil ugotoviti, katera kultura prevladuje v podjetju in v njegovem prodajnem oddelku, ter jo primerjati z želeno kulturo potencialnih iskalcev zaposlitve. S tem smo želeli preveriti, ali obstajajo razlike med obstoječo kulturo in pričakovanji bodočih zaposlenih, kar ima neposreden vpliv na privlačnost podjetja kot delodajalca ter na njegovo dolgoročno uspešnost.
Teoretični del naloge prinaša pregled ključnih teoretičnih izhodišč o organizacijski kulturi, njenem razvoju, značilnostih in tipologijah. Poudarek je na modelu Competing Values Framework (CVF), ki omogoča razvrstitev kultur v štiri kvadrante: klan, adhokracija, hierarhija in trg. S tem modelom je mogoče prepoznati, katere vrednote so v ospredju in kako se izražajo v praksi.
Empirični del raziskave je bil zasnovan na kombinaciji metod: izvedeni so bili intervjuji, analiza sekundarnih virov ter vprašalniki po CVF-modelu. Z njihovo pomočjo smo prepoznali značilnosti obstoječe kulture podjetja in prodajnega oddelka ter ugotavljali, kakšne so želje potencialnih iskalcev zaposlitve. Rezultati so pokazali, da v podjetju in v prodajnem oddelku prevladuje kultura tekmovanja, ki je usmerjena v učinkovitost, rezultate in konkurenčnost. Ta usmeritev je skladna s panogo, v kateri podjetje deluje, ter zagotavlja njegovo kratkoročno uspešnost.
Vendar pa so potencialni iskalci zaposlitve izrazili večjo naklonjenost kulturi klana, ki poudarja sodelovanje, medosebne odnose, podporo in pripadnost. To pomeni, da obstaja razkorak med obstoječo in želeno kulturo, kar lahko vpliva na privlačnost podjetja pri zaposlovanju novih kadrov. Intervjuji so hkrati pokazali, da tudi zaposleni v prodaji, čeprav cenijo rezultatsko naravnanost, želijo več poudarka na mentorstvu, timskem delu in osebnem razvoju. 3. Protection of workers in relation to the use of artificial intelligence in the workplaceAsja Lešnik, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This article examines the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on all stages of the employment relationship and analyses whether the current legal framework adequately protects workers from the risks posed by the use of AI in the workplace. The focus is on Slovenian labour law, while also considering relevant international and EU legal sources such as the AI Act, the Directive on Improving Working Conditions in Platform Work, the GDPR, and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. The author addresses legal challenges including discrimination, data protection, privacy, occupational safety and health, and liability for damages. The article finds that while some protective mechanisms already exist, none of the analysed legal sources comprehensively regulate AI use in employment relationships. To ensure effective worker protection, the author argues for either the amendment of current laws or the adoption of dedicated legislation. Since AI will play an even more significant role in Labour Law in the future, it is crucial for the law to adapt in a timely manner to the new challenges posed by AI. 4. Performance comparison of single-objective evolutionary algorithms implemented in different frameworksMiha Ravber, Marko Šmid, Matej Moravec, Marjan Mernik, Matej Črepinšek, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Fair comparison with state-of-the-art evolutionary algorithms is crucial, but is obstructed by differences in problems, parameters, and stopping criteria across studies. Metaheuristic frameworks can help, but often lack clarity on algorithm versions, improvements, or deviations. Some also restrict parameter configuration. We analysed source codes and identified inconsistencies between implementations. Performance comparisons across frameworks, even with identical settings, revealed significant differences, sometimes even with the authors’ own code. This questions the validity of comparisons using such frameworks. We provide guidelines to improve open-source metaheuristics, aiming to support more credible and reliable comparative studies. 5. Optimizacija sodobnih spletnih storitev za organizacijo dogodkovTim Povodnik, 2025, diplomsko delo Opis: Diplomsko delo obravnava razvoj spletne storitve za organizacijo dogodkov z uporabo arhitekture programskih vmesnikov REST. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni izzivi organizacije, obstoječe rešitve in najboljše prakse razvoja ter varnosti API-jev. V praktičnem delu je implementirana rešitev z .NET Web API, EF Core in MySQL, ki omogoča upravljanje dogodkov in prijav. Rezultati kažejo, da sistem izboljšuje preglednost in učinkovitost organizacije ter omogoča varno interakcijo med organizatorji in udeleženci. 6. Legal aspects of cyberwarfare and cyberwarfare crimes : criminal law analysis and dilemmas in the legal system of the European UnionMiha Šepec, 2024, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: The goal of this chapter is to analyse the substantive legal content regarding cyberwarfare attacks and crimes, present procedural measures of cooperation in criminal matters for the purpose of prosecuting such crimes, and examine European Union’s (EU) institutions for cooperation in such criminal matters. It should be emphasised that cyberwarfare does not have a single, clearly established legal definition. In most cases, cyberwarfare attacks refer to forms of cyberattacks that are already known, and which most EU Member States have already defined as criminal acts. The specifics of cyberwarfare are, thus, that it is connected with the army of an individual country, which then configures a military operation; and that the range and scope of the offence are significantly wider, as cyberwarfare attacks focuses on more important targets with significantly more repulsive motives, such as paralysing a country’s national security via attacks on its infrastructure and technological centres. The focus of the legal analysis is placed on the EU legislation and United Nations (UN) conventions, with particular interest on the legal definitions of terms connected to cyberwarfare (e.g. cyberattack, cyber espionage, and cyber-spying), understanding in which legal documents these terms are defined, and if these documents are legally binding to EU Member States. The study proves that cyberwarfare attacks are treated in the EU as crimes with a cross-border dimension of such nature and impact that they need special treatment, that is, they require a harmonising legislation at the EU level to prosecute such crimes more efficiently. 7. Climate change and air pollution : the twin threats to children’s health and well-beingElijah Sriroshan Sritharan, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Environmental factors, such as air pollution and climate change, significantly contribute to the global burden of disease and are critical to understanding health disparities between countries, with low- and middle-income nations facing the highest environmental health burdens across various diseases and injuries. While health is universally acknowledged as both a fundamental human need and a basic human right, yet the harmful effects of unhealthy environments disproportionately impact children. Research indicates that pre- and post-natal exposures to environmental toxicants can disrupt brain and lung development, impairing their function. These health impacts are distributed unequally, with marginalised populations experiencing greater harm. The IPCC identifies fossil fuel combustion as the primary driver of climate change. Epidemiological studies further highlight the existing and future consequences of climate change, including its effects on infectious diseases, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, and mental well-being. 8. Recent trends in information and cyber security maturity assessment : a systematic literature reviewAlenka Baggia, Alenka Brezavšček, 2025, pregledni znanstveni članek Opis: This work represents a comprehensive and systematic literature review (SLR)
that follows the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and MetaAnalyses) guidelines for research assessing information and cyber security maturity. The
period from 2012 to 2024 was considered and the final collection of 96 studies was taken
into account. Our findings were summarised in two stages, a quantitative analysis and
a qualitative synthesis. In the first part, various quantitative indicators were used to
analyse the evolution of the information and cyber security maturity assessment domain
over the last twelve years. The qualitative synthesis, which was limited to 36 research
papers, categorises the studies into three key areas: the development of new maturity
models, the implementation of established models and frameworks, and the advancement
of methodologies to support maturity assessments. The findings reveal significant progress
in sector-specific customisation, the growing importance of lightweight models for small
and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the integration of emerging technologies. This
study provides important insights into the evolving landscape of information and cyber
security maturity assessment and provides actionable recommendations for academia and
industry to improve security resilience and support the adoption of tailored, effective

9. Leveraging ChatGPT for enhanced logical analysis in the theory of constraints thinking processTomaž Aljaž, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background/Purpose: Artificial intelligence (AI) has traditionally been used for quantitative analysis using explicit data. However, much of the information critical to decision making remains undocumented and is not stored in a structured way. This study explores the integration of AI, specifically ChatGPT, into Theory of Constraints (TOC) Thinking Process (TP) tools. Method: In this study, we applied ChatGPT to a real-world IT project management case using a variety of research methods, including international literature analysis, observation, and personal experience. The use of the TOC TP allowed us to understand the decision-making process of ChatGPT and to systematically explore its advantages and limitations in creating logical trees of TOC TP. Results: ChatGPT significantly enhanced efficiency and depth in TOC TP data collection and analysis, effectively addressing logical leaps for more coherent structures. It also promoted deeper analytical thinking and aided root cause identification. The integration of ChatGPT into the TOC TP process led to faster decision-making, reduced bias, and clearer analysis. Challenges of ChatGPT including the need for human oversight, specific TOC TP training, and ethical considerations were noted. Conclusion: This study provides an initial investigation into the use of ChatGPT in TOC TP tools. The results suggest that ChatGPT has the potential to be a valuable tool for organizations seeking to improve their decision making and performance. However, further research is needed to validate these findings and explore the full potential of AI in TOC TP. 10. Creating dynamic learning capability in learning framework through strategic allianceFebri Nila Chrisanty, Riani Rachmawati, Prijono Tjiptoherijanto, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background and Purpose: The changing ecosystem demands improvement in a company’s capabilities through its learning framework and respective dimensions. Using empirical testing, the purpose of this research is to gain a better understanding of the creation of dynamic learning capability through strategic alliances in the learning framework. Methodology: The data were collected via an online survey of 78 strategic alliances of a public institution. The structural equation model (SEM) was used to test the proposed model. Finding: Dynamic learning capability positively and significantly affects strategic alliance performance in a learning framework that comprises relationship capital, surfacing, joint learning structure, and knowledge acquisition dimensions. Conclusion: This research finds that all constructs in the learning framework (relationship capital, surfacing, joint learning structure, and knowledge acquisition) create dynamic learning capability, which has a significant effect on strategic alliance performance. Each construct within the learning framework (relationship capital, surfacing, joint learning structure, and knowledge acquisition) was empirically tested and can create the dynamic learning capability that contributes to the strategic alliance’s performance, notably within the business learning domain.
