1. The effect of the difference in female body shapes on clothing fittingTadeja Penko, Andreja Rudolf, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of body shapes of the studied group of women using different body shape classification methods. The objective was to investigate the fit of clothing for the average body shapes identified. Forty female participants from Slovenia, aged 20–30, were included in the analysis. Body shapes were classified using three methods: Visual assessment of body shape (VABS), female figure identification technique (FFIT), and body shape classification method (BSCM). For each classification method, ANOVA tests were performed to determine whether there were statistically significant differences in body measurements across the identified body shapes. A comparison of body shapes was carried out and also visualised by simulating 3D body shapes. The fit of clothing to body shapes was analysed with the help of virtual 3D prototyping. Four characteristic body shapes have been identified, namely triangle (pear, spoon), hourglass, rectangle and inverted triangle. The VABS method differs slightly from the other two (FFIT, BSCM), which give very similar results. When applying the FFIT and BSCM, the triangle body shape is the most representative, followed by the hourglass shape, the rectangle and the inverted triangle shape. Simulating the fit of the basic dress pattern design on 3D body shapes using the best match of dress size shows that the dress fits the hourglass shape best, while the fit for the other three shapes is inadequate. The latter indicates the need to make most of the garments for the triangle body shape and a corresponding number of garments for the hourglass and rectangle body shapes to ensure the correct fit of the garments. 2. Factors of hospital mortality in men and women with ST-elevation myocardial infarction - an observational, retrospective, single centre studyMartin Marinšek, David Šuran, Andreja Sinkovič, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Purpose: There are well-known gender differences in mortality of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Our purpose was to assess factors of hospital mortality separately for men and women with STEMI, which are less well known.
Patients and Methods: In 2018– 2019, 485 men and 214 women with STEMI underwent treatment with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). We retrospectively compared baseline characteristics, treatments and hospital complications between men and women, as well as between nonsurviving and surviving men and women with STEMI.
Results: Primary PCI was performed in 94% of men and 91.1% of women with STEMI, respectively. The in-hospital mortality was significantly higher in women than in men (14% vs 8%, p=0.019). Hospital mortality in both genders was associated significantly to older age, heart failure, prior resuscitation, acute kidney injury, to less likely performed and less successful primary PCI and additionally in men to hospital infection and in women to bleeding. In men and women ≥ 65 years, mortality was similar (13.3% vs 17.8%, p = 0.293).
Conclusion: Factors of hospital mortality were similar in men and women with STEMI, except bleeding was more likely observed in nonsurviving women and infection in nonsurviving men. 3. Fantasy and Madness in Two Female Protagonists in Gothic Fiction : m. a. thesisLara Zorec, 2023, magistrsko delo Opis: The thesis analyses the influence of fantasy and madness on two female protagonists in The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson and The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. It aims to explain in what ways the fantasizing of two female protagonists suggests the potential madness or mental health issues in the protagonists. The protagonists, Eleanor Vance, and the governess, experience seemingly inexplicable supernatural occurrences while trying to restart their lives in new surroundings. Both literary works of Gothic fiction focus on their narration and explanation of the events and their fantasizing about what could have been. To correctly interpret the results of the analysis and scientific terms, the first part of the thesis deals with the explanation of specific terminology related to the Gothic genre, madness in medical and literary terms in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and psychoanalytic criticism. The theoretical background is significant for the definition of the specific passages that help us understand the ambiguous literary works by Jackson and James. The thesis attempts to discover what mental illnesses could be tormenting the female protagonists and how defining their symptoms could help explain their behaviour and inexplicable occurrences. 4. Celebrity endorsement influence on destination imageIvana Marković, Gordana Radosavljević, Katarina Borisavljević, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Destination image influences the tourist decision-making process, and their
intention to visit, revisit and recommend. Therefore, a positive destination
image is considered one of the key destination success factors. Tourists will
form the image according to their own or others’ experiences and information
related to the destination, one option to provide destination information is
one of the most effective promotional tools called celebrity endorsement.
With the assumption that a positive celebrity image will be transferred to
the destination, this study will explore the effect of celebrity endorsement on
destination image. The study aims to test the celebrity endorsement effect on
destination image through the source attractiveness model, source credibility
model, and the Match-up model. Data were collected using the online survey
technique, the sample size was 204 respondents. Research hypotheses were
tested by regression analysis. Results indicated that celebrity attractiveness,
trustworthiness, expertise, and match-up impact the destination image. The
theoretical contribution is reflected in new information regarding the role of
celebrity endorsement in tourism, which is limited in foreign and domestic
scientific literature. As a practical contribution, the study provides information
that may be useful to tourism service providers in creating a promotional
campaign. Ključne besede: gender equality, gender-responsive policies, female entrepreneurship, self-employed females, human capital Objavljeno v DKUM: 19.06.2023; Ogledov: 438; Prenosov: 5

5. The impact of women’s economic empowerment on the rise of female entrepreneurship in NamibiaVito Bobek, Andrea Schachl, Tatjana Horvat, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In this paper the authors investigate the importance of women’s economic
empowerment and its impact on the rise of female entrepreneurship and
human capital in Namibia. The research includes a case study analysis with
four in-depth expert interviews. Data triangulation ensure the study's validity,
and the case was examined through pattern matching. The results demonstrate
that female entrepreneurs face challenges such as access to resources and
education, socio-cultural norms, a lack of social protection, and a large and
unprotected informal sector. The government and institutions shall promote
women's empowerment through a direct labour market intervention, support
for the informal sector, a gender-sensitive constitutional, legal, and institutional
framework, the enforcement and oversight of gender-responsive laws and
policies, and access to resources and education. Furthermore, women require
digital inclusion, entrepreneur networks, social protection, and reformed sociocultural norms. If female entrepreneurs are empowered adequately, they will
contribute to nations' human capital, economic growth, and development. Ključne besede: gender equality, gender-responsive policies, female entrepreneurship, self-employed females, human capital Objavljeno v DKUM: 19.06.2023; Ogledov: 484; Prenosov: 6

6. Cultural foundations of female entrepreneurship in Mexico : challenges and opportunitiesMartha Cantú Cavada, Vito Bobek, Hazbo Skoko, Anita Maček, 2018, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper analyses possible challenges and opportunities that Mexican female entrepreneurs face during the establishment of new enterprises. Based on in-depth interviews with female entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship experts, authors researched opportunities in the form of governmental and non-governmental institutional support, growing entrepreneurship, social awareness and women empowerment. However, lack of credibility, fear of vulnerability to criticism and social pressure are some challenges associated with gender egalitarianism. In such, the authors proved that Mexican culture impacts women in some ways more than the others. Institutional collectivism was the cultural dimension with higher positive impact on women, followed by gender egalitarianism with a neutral to positive impact and the power distance with a neutral influence on women. 7. Social isolation during puberty affects female sexual behavior in miceJasmina Kerčmar, Stuart Tobet, Gregor Majdič, 2014, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Exposure to stress during puberty can lead to long-term behavioral alterations in adult rodents coincident with sex steroid hormone-dependent brain remodeling and reorganization. Social isolation is a stress for social animals like mice, but little is known about the effects of such stress during adolescence on later reproductive behaviors. The present study examined sexual behavior of ovariectomized, estradiol and progesterone primed female mice that were individually housed from 25 days of age until testing at approximately 95 days, or individually housed from day 25 until day 60 (during puberty), followed by housing in social groups. Mice in these isolated groups were compared to females that were group housed throughout the experiment. Receptive sexual behaviors of females and behaviors of stimulus males were recorded. Females housed in social groups displayed greater levels of receptive behaviors in comparison to both socially isolated groups. Namely, social females had higher lordosis quotients (LQs) and more often displayed stronger lordosis postures in comparison to isolated females. No differences between female groups were observed in stimulus male sexual behavior suggesting that female “attractiveness” was not affected by their social isolation. Females housed in social groups had fewer cells containing immunoreactive estrogen receptor (ER) α in the anteroventral periventricular nucleus (AVPV) and in the ventromedial nucleus of the hypothalamus (VMH) than both isolated groups. These results suggest that isolation during adolescence affects female sexual behavior and re-socialization for 1 month in adulthood is insufficient to rescue lordosis behavior from the effects of social isolation during the pubertal period. 8. Slovenian Entrepreneurship Observatory 2003Miroslav Rebernik, Dijana Močnik, Jožica Knez-Riedl, Polona Tominc, Karin Širec, Matej Rus, Tadej Krošlin, Silvo Dajčman, končno poročilo o rezultatih raziskav Opis: The monograph Slovenian Entrepreneurship Observatory 2003 consists of several research issues. In the first part, a short review of the current level of entrepreneurship is given, outlined on the basis of economic and statistical data. Understanding what is happening in Slovenian enterprises is important not only in order to pursue an appropriate economic policy but also in order to find the advantages and disadvantages of Slovenian companies in comparison with enterprises in other European countries. If Slovenia wishes to join the most developed European countries, it will have to speed up its economic growth. In the second part of a monograph, a number of topics, based on a survey of a sample of 672 enterprises are dealt with. We studied the relationship between banks and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), female entrepreneurship, clustering, social responsibility of companies and the development of competences. 9. DEVELOPMENT OF THE FEMALE FICTION DETECTIVE FROM 1930 TO 2010Monika Vengust, 2011, diplomsko delo Opis: The diploma thesis with the title Development of the female fiction detective from 1930 to 2010 is dealing with three female detective characters that appeared in the mentioned time period and made or are still making some influence on the readers. These three detectives are Agatha Christie’s Miss Jane Marple, Nancy Drew, a character of many ghost-writers, and Mma Precious Ramotswe, the creation of Alexander McCall Smith.
This dissertation starts with the beginning of detective fiction and how it developed through ages. It describes the genre in America and Britain and leads us through the Golden Age of detective fiction. It continues with description of differences between the detective story, the crime novel and the police novel. There are also explanations of several subgenres.
The last part describes the main characters. We can see their beginnings, methods and ways of solving crimes, how did writers’ backgrounds affect the knowledge of their fiction characters and what are some similarities and differences between characters. Through this description it is evident, how a female fiction detective develops. Finally there is a short comparison between the main characters, to support the thesis.
