1. Sustainability-oriented surface modification of polyester knitted fabrics with chitosanTanja Pušić, Tea Bušac, Kristina Šimić, Mirjana Čurlin, Ana Šaravanja, Katia Grgić, Julija Volmajer Valh, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The existing research deals with the process of modifying polyester knitted fabrics and polyester/cotton knitted fabrics with chitosan and the stability of functionalized surface with chitosan in the washing process according to a standard and an innovative washing procedure. The current research concept aims to evaluate the degree of progressivity and progressiveness: the modification of polyester knitted fabrics with chitosan and an innovative washing process. The polyester and polyester/cotton fabrics modified with chitosan were characterized by a staining test, microscopic analysis, zeta potential measurement, and pilling tendency of the knitted fabrics before and after five and ten washing cycles with reference detergent ECE A. The results of the zeta potential measurement of knitted fabrics functionalized with chitosan confirmed cationization of the polyester and polyester/cotton fabric with chitosan. The presence of chitosan on the washed knitted fabrics in reduced quantities is demonstrated by the staining test, the colour strength (K/S), and the zeta potential values. The staining test and surface charge of the tested knitted fabrics confirmed the research hypothesis regarding the degree of progressivity of the modification of polyester and polyester/cotton knitted fabrics with chitosan and the sustainability of the innovative washing process. The streaming potential proved to be a favorable method for monitoring the stability of chitosan in the washing process in combination with a staining test with the selected dye Remazol Red RB. 2. Influence of undergarments on the comfort level of scoliosis brace wearersO. Nagy Szabó, Jelka Geršak, A. Koleszár, Marianna Halász, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Bracing has proven to be an effective method for the conventional treatment of scoliosis in young people. A brace, a therapeutic device, covers the upper body and promotes healing by applying pressure to specific areas. However, wearing a scoliosis brace negatively affects the user’s thermo-physiological well-being and often leads to discomfort. In this study, we investigated the influence of T-shirts as an undergarment on the thermo-physiological well-being of the brace wearer. For this purpose, we performed a comparative analysis of six T-shirts made from different special knitted fabrics. We carried out wearing tests in a computer-controlled climate chamber according to a predetermined protocol. The test subject wore the orthopedic brace over the different T-shirts at three different temperatures. The results indicate that the knitted fabrics of undergarments and environmental conditions considerably impact the wearer’s thermo-physiological comfort. In the tests, the T-shirts made from the selected functional fabrics performed very well. The T-shirt made from the classic cotton fabric containing elastane yarn also performed well and was the most environmentally friendly. Currently, due to its lower price and easier availability, this cotton T-shirt can be recommended for wearing under a scoliosis brace. 3. Design and development of sustainable capsule collection : magistrsko deloLucie Görlichová, 2023, magistrsko delo Opis: The current fast fashion system has a negative impact on the environment, exploits natural resources, and violates workers' rights. The aim of this master's thesis is to design and develop a sustainable capsule collection of versatile and timeless garments that can be worn in different ways over a long period of time. The thesis includes theoretical and practical research on sustainability, sustainable materials, collection development and sustainable design methods. Final collection is made of natural and eco-friendly materials and implements various sustainable approaches. The concept of the collection proves that garments can be made in harmony with nature and still be modern and fashionable. 4. Signing blockchain transactions using qualified certificatesMuhamed Turkanović, Blaž Podgorelec, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Blockchain technology is increasingly being considered among both private
enterprises and public services. However, it poses a challenge with regard to aligning its identity management scheme with the Public Key Infrastructure and the Qualified Digital Certificates issued by Qualified Trust Service Providers. To solve this challenge, we will present a solution in the form of an architecture reference model, which enables enterprises and public services to leverage blockchain technology by integrating Qualified Electronic Signatures with blockchain transactions. The evaluation of the architecture reference model is provided through the design of a Blockchain-based Trusted Public Service and a use-case scenario example. The proposed architecture reference model is based on the CEF building blocks EBSI, eSignature, and eID compliant with eIDAS Ključne besede: blockchain, computer architecture, distributed ladger, fabrics, elliptic curve cryptography, internet, law Objavljeno v DKUM: 08.12.2022; Ogledov: 712; Prenosov: 169

5. Complementary assessment of commercial photoluminescent pigments printed on cotton fabricSelestina Gorgieva, Natalija Virant, Alenka Ojstršek, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The presented study focuses on photoluminescent pigments applied on cotton fabric by a screen-printed procedure using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) as a binder. Microscopic data depicts irregular shapes and relatively wide size distribution (3–80 µm) of pigments. Regarding composition, the Energy-Dispersive X-ray (EDX) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy data complement findings suggesting the presence of Eu-doped strontium aluminate in the yellow-green,calcium aluminate in the violet pigment, and metal oxides in the blue pigment.
