Some theoretical concepts for more innovative sustainable development
Zdenka Ženko, 2025, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji

Opis: This chapter explores key theoretical and practical foundations necessary for understanding and implementing innovative processes with more sustainable human activities. Building on the systems thinking, ethical frameworks, and Brundtland Report, the chapter examines how subjective viewpoints (emotions, values, talents, knowledge of why and knowledge of how) shape innovative processes for more sustainable behavior. Case studies in forestry and organic farming illustrate how sustainability can achieve both ecological and economic benefits. Contemporary research on ethics, environmental, social and governmental initiatives, integration, and sustainability reporting further supports the relevance of more requisitely holistic and long-term perspectives. The chapter concludes with recommendations for education, policy, and future research to strengthen systemic and ethical approaches to sustainability in innovative processes.

Preserving the past for the future: architecture with the legacy of care and aesthetics
Mojca Puncer, Vesna Žegarac Leskovar, Peter Šenk, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The aim of the article is to use a literature review to identify the dimensions of care from the perspective of heritage science, which is a highly interdisciplinary academic field. In this case, it includes philosophy, architec-tural theory and a broader theory of care that should be addressed for a comprehensive study of concepts of care in architecture and architecture-orientated art. In the analysis of selected architectural heritage interventions, special attention is given to aspects of care and aspects of aesthetics in order to develop a new methodology for identifying and evaluating interventions in the built environment
Ključne besede: heritage science, architecture, urban design, adaptive reuse, care, (philosophical) aesthetics, care aesthetics/aesthetics of care, care ethics, contemporary art practice

Ethical perspective of the future development of law
Miro Cerar, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Law, by its very nature, is human and humane. The humanity of law means that law is a product of man and is intended for man. The humaneness of law, however, means that human dignity and well-being must be the fundamental basis of law. Law, therefore, does not exist without a sufficient ethical foundation. The establishment of a state governed by the rule of law, and a legal culture based on it requires a particularly strong anchoring of law in ethical values. The greatest threats to ethics and law are (1) ethical deficits in areas of society on which law (co-)depends, (2) extreme authoritarian and totalitarian regimes, and (3) autonomous artificial intelligence capable of turning away from humans or even turning against and overcoming humans. In the first two cases, the humaneness of law is critically reduced or even extinguished; in the last case, both the humaneness and the humanity of law are extinguished, which is the worst possible scenario. All these dangers must be recognized in time and adequately averted, and regular efforts must be made to preserve the ethical values and the values of the rule of law.

Philosophy of care, feminist care theory and art care
Mojca Puncer, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Drawing on the epistemological tradition of feminist care theory and care ethics, this article analyzes Boris Groys’s contribution to the philosophy of care in order to highlight the implications of care issues in the context of art, which is an important reference point for both his and my own investigation. After an introductory overview of the problematic and conceptualization of care, I address Groys’s position. I then provide insights into feminist care ethics and the philosophy of the body, care aesthetics and care work, before turning to art care. In a concluding synthesis, I argue for a different philosophy of care in the light of a reorientation of our understanding of care work in general and in the art world in particular. Methodologically, I combine philosophical exegesis and critical theory, referring to the feminist critique of the Western philosophical tradition as expressed in Groys’s work. I remain at the discursive level of the philosophical study of care and its dialog with the broader field of feminist theory and care ethics, including in relation to care work and art care in the contemporary museum economy.

Exploring the relationship between individual tax culture and Schwartz’s higher-order personal values among accountants as taxpayers in Slovenia
Lidija Hauptman, Aleksandra Hlastec, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The OECD has called for a stronger and more dynamic sustainable tax-paying culture that countries must cultivate and a more robust ethical profile for individual taxpayers. The individual tax culture might vary in the significance attributed to values influenc- ing taxpayers’ perceptions toward taxation. As the hierarchy of values can be influ- enced through manipulation, policymakers can leverage knowledge of the relationship between higher-order personal values and individual tax culture to enhance tax rev- enue collection. This study aims to measure the relationship between Schwartz’s high- er-order personal values and taxpayers’ culture, assessed through attitudes toward tax evasion, tax compliance, and the tax system. A survey was administered to the Slovene taxpayers (69 accountants and 130 non-accountants). The assumption was that the personal values system of accountants ought to underpin their ethical tax decision- making because of the professional accountants’ ethical codes. As professional accoun- tants play a crucial role in maintaining stability for businesses, they hold a significant position in ensuring the effective operation of taxation systems. Exploratory factor analysis was used, and the analysis was carried out using the principal component method. The findings indicate that some higher-order personal values, particularly self-transcendence (r = 0.244) and self-enhancement (r = –0.403), are significant in explaining ethical behavior. Within the self-enhancement value, power and achieve- ment strongly influence the ethical behavior of accountants. The perception of power associated with their expertise makes accountants less tax-compliant. Conservation values are of greater importance for non-accountants (r = 0.280). The results enhance comprehension of values’ influence on ethical decision processes.

Data management and academic integrity
Milan Ojsteršek, 2024, drugo učno gradivo

Opis: Sensitive data requires careful consideration and adherence to best practices to ensure its confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Essential steps in handling sensitive data are identification and classification of sensitive data, implementation of data access control, encryption of sensitive data, secure storage and transmission, implementation of data breach response plan, backup and monitoring usage of data, complying with regulation, and disposing of data securely. Misconduct in handling sensitive data can compromise data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. These include data breaches (unauthorised access or disclosure, theft, insider threats, falsification, fabrication, imputation, and amputation of data), failure to comply with data protection regulations, inadequate data security practices, improper retention and disposal of data, and failure to report data breaches and incidents. In this presentation Milan Ojsteršek presents how to manage sensitive data, desensitise it, and which are the most common breaches in handling sensitive data incidents. This presentation was given at the 4th ENAI Academic Integrity Summer School 2024, 16th – 21th September 2024, University of Konstanz, Germany.

A strategic model for sustainable business policy development
Tjaša Štrukelj, Jelena Nikolić, Dejana Zlatanović, Simona Sternad Zabukovšek, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Growing importance of sustainable development, corporate social responsibility and business ethics requires various types of contemporary organisations innovation. This research assesses the problem related to business policy innovation (BPI), which represents organisational governance determination. The main purpose of the paper is to qualitatively and quantitatively present a new, requisitely holistic strategic model of the soft factors influencing BPI, which interdependently incorporates changes in organisational values, culture and business ethics, as well as stakeholders’ interests reconciliation, thus determine soft possibilities for more sustainable business policy, management and practice. While the relevance of these factors for business policy is in the literature widely recognized, there is a small amount of empirical research on their influence on BPI. To mitigate this research gap, advanced structural equation modelling (SEM) based partial least squares (PLS) method was used for analysing data of 734 organisations in Slovenia, the EU state. The research results show that researched soft factors organisational values, culture and stakeholders’ interests reconciliation statistically confirmed influence BPI. Thus, these recognitions can be used as the basis for strategic managerial decision making towards social responsibility and sustainability of an organisation. Reasons why it has not been statistically confirmed that business ethics influence BPI needs to be investigated in future research.

Arif Rahman Hakim, Nurul Asfiah, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Business ethics is becoming an important concern in the era of increasing sustainability issues, and a strong organizational culture can be the foundation for implementing business ethics. This research analyzes publication trends related to organizational culture, environment, and business ethics, as well as how to build an ethical business environment. The study used bibliometric analysis with Scopus data sources with 134 documents from 1994-2024 with the keywords "organizational culture”, “organizational environment”, and “business ethics", VOSViewer and NVIVO software were utilized to analyze data. It was discovered that ethical and integrity leadership, a strong organizational culture, and ethical communication are key pillars in creating an ethical and sustainable business environment. This research highlights the importance of integrating ethical values in organizational policies and governance, as well as the active role of leaders in upholding ethical standards. Open and honest communication and a sustainable CSR program reinforce organizational ethical practices. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening ethics policies, implementing regular ethics training, and building an organizational culture that supports ethical values to improve long-term performance. The research also offers theoretical insights into the strategic role of leadership and culture in sustainable business ethics.

Critical review of the use of the Rorschach in European courts
Igor Areh, Fanny Verkampt, Alfred Allan, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In relation to the admissibility of evidence obtained using projective personality tests arose in F v. Bevándorlási és Állampolgársági Hivatam (2018). The Court of Justice of the European Union has held that an expert's report can only be accepted if it is based on the international scientific community's standards, but has refrained from stipulating what these standards are. It appears timely for European psychologists to decide what standards should be applied to determine whether or not a test is appropriate for psycholegal use. We propose standards and then apply them to the Rorschach because it was used in this case and is an exemplar of projective tests. We conclude that the Rorschach does not meet the proposed standards and that psychologists should abstain from using it in legal proceedings even in the absence of a clear judicial prohibition.
