1. Statistically significant differences in AI support levels for project management between SMEs and large enterprisesPolona Tominc, Dijana Oreški, Vesna Čančer, Maja Rožman, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Background: This article delves into an in-depth analysis of the statistically significant differences in AI support levels for project management between SMEs and large enterprises. The research was conducted based on a comprehensive survey encompassing a sample of 473 SMEs and large Slovenian enterprises.
Methods: To validate the observed differences, statistical analysis, specifically the Mann–Whitney U test, was employed.
Results: The results confirm the presence of statistically significant differences between SMEs and large enterprises across multiple dimensions of AI support in project management. Large enterprises exhibit on average a higher level of AI adoption across all five AI utilization dimensions. Specifically, large enterprises scored significantly higher (p < 0.05) in AI adopting strategies and in adopting AI technologies for project tasks and team creation. This study’s findings also underscored the significant differences (p < 0.05) between SMEs and large enterprises in their adoption and utilization of AI technologies for project management purposes. While large enterprises scored above 4 for several dimensions, with the highest average score assessed (mean value 4.46 on 1 to 5 scale) for the usage of predictive Analytics Tools to improve the work on the project, SMEs’ average levels, on the other hand, were all below 4. SMEs in particular may lag in incorporating AI into various project activities due to several factors such as resource constraints, limited access to AI expertise, or risk aversion.
Conclusions: The results underscore the need for targeted strategies to enhance AI adoption in SMEs and leverage its benefits for successful project implementation and strengthen the company’s competitiveness. 2. Exploring social customer relationship management adoption in micro, small and medium-sized enterprisesMarjeta Marolt, Hans Dieter Zimmermann, Anja Žnidaršič, Andreja Pucihar, 2019, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: With the emergence of social media, customer relationship management has undergone noticeable changes and gained a great deal of attention from researchers and practitioners in recent years. In this paper, we provide additional insights into how intensively business-to-customer micro, small and medium-sized enterprises adopt social customer relationship management. Based on the literature review and insights from interviews with six micro, small and medium-sized enterprise owners/managers, we developed a conceptual research model that integrates the antecedents, intensity of social customer relationship management adoption, and performance outcomes. For the intensity of social customer relationship management adoption, we applied process-based conceptualization consisting of the customer engagement process and customer data management process. Then we empirically tested a conceptual research model by using data collected in a survey of 119 micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovenia. We found that not all antecedents are equally relevant to both processes of the intensity of social customer relationship management adoption. Additionally, we found that the intensity of social customer relationship management adoption has a positive effect on customer relationship performance. Based on these findings, we provide recommendations for further research and offer practical implications for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises considering social customer relationship management adoption. 7. Multi-attribute assessment of digital maturity of SMEsMirjana Kljajić Borštnar, Andreja Pucihar, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) need to keep pace with large enterprises, thus they need to digitally transform. Since they usually lack resources (budget, knowledge, and time) many countries have their support environment to help SMEs in this endeavor. To be able to ensure the right kinds of support, it is crucial to assess the digital maturity of an enterprise. There are many models and assessment tools for digital maturity, however, they are either theoretical models, partial, vendor oriented, or suited for large enterprises. In this paper, we address the problem of assessing digital maturity for SMEs. For this purpose, we developed a multi-attribute model for assessment of the digital maturity of an SME. We followed the design science research approach, where the multi-attribute model is considered as an IT artifact. Within the design cycle, the decision expert (DEX) methodology of a broader multi-attribute decision making methodologies was applied. The developed model was validated by a group of experts and upgraded according to their feedback and finally evaluated on seven real-life cases. Results show that the model can be used in real business situations. 8. Investigating the impact of resilience, responsiveness, and quality on customer loyalty of MSMEs : empirical evidenceNourhan Ahmed Saad, Sara El Gazzar, Sonja Mlaker Kač, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Due to the importance of the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) sector and the negative implications of COVID-19, which resulted in decreasing resource availability, shortages of supply, declining consumer demand and requirements, and a lack of consumer satisfaction and loyalty, this research investigates the impact of resilience, responsiveness, and quality on customer loyalty in MSMEs. An online questionnaire was conducted on MSMEs’ end consumers in the Egyptian context. The analysis was conducted through Amos and SPSS, and the research hypotheses were tested through covariance-based structural equation modelling for 891 valid questionnaires. The findings exposed that there is a positive significant impact for operational resilience (flexibility and technology adoption), responsiveness (delivery fulfillment and speed and after-sale service), and product/service quality on customer loyalty in terms of behavioral, attitudinal dimensions. It contributes to understanding how MSMEs could enhance their sustainable performance (resilience, responsiveness, quality) to reach better customer loyalty. This research presents insights on how the MSMEs sector can adapt to the dynamic business environment in terms of COVID-19 crisis and consumer behavior, which has changed the nature and needs of the market and consumers. In addition, this research extends the theories of Resource-Based View (RBV), Dynamic Capability View (DCV), and Theory of Consumption Value (TCV) in an empirical contribution through filling the gap in understanding consumers’ needs in terms of resilience, responsiveness, and quality.
