2. The role of rhetoric in teacher virtual exchangesMaja Kerneža, Metka Kordigel Aberšek, 2024, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Educators’ rhetorical skills are pivotal in virtual collaboration between teachers and parents, enhancing communication clarity and overcoming cultural barriers, thereby enriching educational experience and fostering intercultural understanding. A review of scientific databases such as Academic Search Complete, ERIC, SCOPUS, and Web of Science, was conducted to identify peer-reviewed articles from 2018 onwards that explore the role of rhetoric in teacher virtual exchanges. Articles were analysed for themes, findings, biases, and research gaps. A notable finding is the lack of research on rhetoric in virtual teacher exchanges, despite its potential to overcome cultural barriers and enhance collaboration. The study reveals that effective rhetorical techniques can improve clarity, persuasiveness, and intercultural understanding in virtual exchanges, indicating a need for more research and educational programs in this area. Furthermore, the study extends to virtual communication between teachers and parents, especially with non-native speakers or those with limited proficiency in the official language. This highlights the need for teachers to use sophisticated rhetorical strategies in diverse linguistic situations to improve understanding and involvement. In summary, the research underscores the significant impact of rhetorical skills in virtual teacher exchanges, with broader implications for global collaboration and intercultural understanding in the educational sphere. 3. Differences in chemistry teachers' acceptance of educational software according to their user type : an application of extended UTAUT modelKateřina Chroustová, Andrej Šorgo, Martin Bilék, Martin Rusek, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: In this research, a model to determine chemistry teachers' acceptance of educational software in secondary education is proposed. The model extends the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model. Data were collected from 556 Czech chemistry teachers and analysed using structural equation modelling. With respect to the significant differences among technology users and various types of nonusers, the research model for each user group was tested too. The results showed significant differences in the individual models for each group of technology user. In the model for "current users" of educational software, the influence of facilitating conditions on current users' use of educational software behavioural intention is stressed. In addition, non-planning users' behavioural intention seems to be influenced by their personal innovativeness in IT, social influence, and performance expectancy. Behavioural intention and attitude towards using educational software affect each of the tested models, with attitudes being an even stronger predictor of educational software usage than behavioural intention. The models contribute to the understanding of teachers' acceptance of educational software, which can be utilized in both pre- and in-service teacher training, considering technology mastery a necessary teacher competence. 4. Conceptual learning of physics in Slovenian primary schoolsIvan Gerlič, Robert Repnik, 2009, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Teaching and learning with computers (ICT) encompasses her help in educational process everywhere there where is this perhaps and reasonable. Using ICT as educated accessory mean search of optimal elements for teaching efficiency and for better achieving teaching objectives. Learning process of science, mathematic and technical subjects in elementary school in many situations demands practically and problem solved work. Conceptual learning of physics is computer based and its strategies lead pupils to a better understanding and use of more difficult processes (thinking, inferencing, using the knowledge). By conceptual way of learning we used "fizlets" as simulatory models. They are interactive materials, where processes happen in certain intervals and there is interaction between the model and the pupil. The main goal of study was to research the effects of conceptual way of learning in comparison with traditional classroom education when teaching the topics "Pressure and lifting power" in the eighth class of primary school. We tested four thinking processes of pupils (knowledge, analyses, inference and comparison). The main expected ascertainment of research was that the pupils, who were taught through the conceptual way achieved better results than those who were taught traditionally in the classroom. Hypotheses were confirmed. In general this article will show other users of teaching physics and science some didactic manners of preparing interactive educated materials. 5. Codes of ethics and codes of conduct for using ICT in educationFranci Pivec, 2011, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Codes of conduct (and ethical codes) are a way of ensuring that positive impact in the community prevails. Higher education environments that have standardized ICT management show higher quality of performance if compared to those who have not. Also characteristic for these environments is their strong willingness for change. A university is a place of scientific communication and, thus, ICT and especially the Internet represent access to a new development phase to which the best universities are strongly dedicated. In this way, also ethics returns to the core of the mission undertaken by higher education institutions. Many countries around the world are adopting National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), which have been developed and are continuously updated within the ISTE Association and at the same time represent a code of conduct for students, teachers, administrators and all others involved in high-quality study. These standards must be supported with code of ethics, because they depend on considerations of important moral values. 6. Searching for information on the internet: how do elementary school students use search engines on the webUroš Drnovšek, 2009, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The Internet has become one of the most popular sources of finding diverse information, even among elementary school students. One of the primary goals of our research was to closely observe students' web searching strategies while they searched for knowledge about life science. We then analyzed different variables, such as the number of keywords students used when they were searching, time spent browsing different web pages, time spent selecting web pages, etc. We measured students' success in completing different web searching tasks and tried to find some factors that are important that led to this success. Students had the most success with the fact-finding task, while research-oriented and semi self-generated tasks proved to be much challenging. Most students were satisfied with the information they got within the first two search attempts and, on average, they browsed only three websites per task. Age was an important factor in determining students' overall success and time for browsing the web.
