1. Italian dictionaries of abbreviations and the preparation of entries of the Italian-Slovene dictionary of abbreviationsMojca Kompara Lukančič, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The present article addresses the two contemporary Italian dictionaries of abbrevia-tions Malossini (1999) and Righini (2001) and outlines the position of the Italian abbreviations in some other Italian dictionaries, namely the monolingual Zingarelli (2000) and Garzanti (2021) and bilingual Slovene-Italian (Šlenc 2006) and Italian-Slovene (Šlenc 1997). The aim of the paper is to give an insight into the compilation of the abbreviation dictionary entries in monolingual Italian, bilingual in tandem with the Slovene language and specialised abbreviation dictionaries; highlight the elements present within the dictionary entries; present the deficiencies in compiling and exam-ples of good practice; with the aim of introducing the outcomes in the compilation of the bilingual Italian-Slovene dictionary entries of the Slovene Contemporary Dictionary of Abbreviations. Within the paper we present the composition of the bilingual dictionary entries giving the reader an insight into the elements of the dictionary entry, namely the usage of language and field qualifi-ers, articulated prepositions, i.e. preposizioni articolate (composed of prepositions and definite articles), official translations and additional descriptions. 2. Background purification framework with extended morphological attribute profile for hyperspectral anomaly detectionJu Huang, Kang Liu, Mingliang Xu, Matjaž Perc, Xuelong Li, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Hyperspectral anomaly detection has attracted extensive interests for its wide use in military and civilian fields, and three main categories of detection methods have been developed successively over past few decades, including statistical model-based, representation-based, and deep-learning-based methods. Most of these algorithms are essentially trying to construct proper background profiles, which describe the characteristics of background and then identify the pixels that do not conform to the profiles as anomalies. Apparently, the crucial issue is how to build an accurate background profile; however, the background profiles constructed by existing methods are not accurate enough. In this article, a novel and universal background purification framework with extended morphological attribute profiles is proposed. It explores the spatial characteristic of image and removes suspect anomaly pixels from the image to obtain a purified background. Moreover, three detectors with this framework covering different categories are also developed. The experiments implemented on four real hyperspectral images demonstrate that the background purification framework is effective, universal, and suitable. Furthermore, compared with other popular algorithms, the detectors with the framework perform well in terms of accuracy and efficiency. 3. All-inclusive LSP dictionaries and the Slovene–English dictionary of tourismBiljana Božinovski, 2021, samostojni znanstveni sestavek ali poglavje v monografski publikaciji Opis: The chapter analyses some of the features of TURS, the Slovene LSP Dictionary of Tourism (Mikolič et al., 2011) against the terminographic guidelines from Slovene and international literature, and proposes improvements for its future updates. Arguments are based on the concept of the so-called allinclusive dictionary (Fuertes-Olivera, 2011), which caters for a wide range of user groups and needs; the chapter argues it is necessary nowadays for all publicly-funded terminographic projects to be implemented applying the all-inclusive principle. This is because online terminological sources are widely available, and, thus, used by all user categories (hence dictionaries should cater to all of them). The chief focus of this chapter is the treatment of homonyms in TURS, particularly in relation to the implications that has for its bilingual aspect (the latter often being neglected in Slovene terminography). 5. Theoretical and interpretative approaches to the Dictionary of Moravian and Silesian anoikonymsMilena Šipková, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The Dictionary of Moravian and Silesian Anoikonyms, compiled in both a traditional “paper” and a digital form as a parallel to the Dictionary of Minor Place Names in Bohemia, has two priorities: 1. unique material (covering 96 % of the territory), 2. theoretical and methodological conception that represents the Czech onomastic school. The Dictionary aims to provide both a material analysis and an interpretation of names comprising many dialectal forms. 6. Processing methodology and dialectological aspects of the Dictionary of Moravian and Silesian anoikonyms (minor place names)Libuše Čižmárová, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This paper presents the routines used by Brno linguists working on the Dictionary of Moravian and Silesian Anoikonyms (preparing collective entries introduced by abstract headwords). The output will be primarily a multifunctional interactive digital dictionary. Since most of the material has been recorded in dialect form, the authors must be experienced in dialectology. The computer program offers the possibility to generate maps enabling comparison with dialectological maps of the Czech Linguistic Atlas. 7. Making paradigms of verbs and adjectives using a dialect corpusChitsuko Fukushima, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The author has been involved in the making of a dialect dictionary of Tokunoshima, Amami, Japan, using a dialect corpus. The analysis of the dialect corpus and face-to-face interviews were combined to obtain the paradigms of verbs and adjectives to be included in the multimedia dialect dictionary. Sentences in the corpus were cut into phrases and verbs were identified and sorted into lists of verbs. The lists were examined to find patterns of verb conjugation. All conjugated forms were examined regarding succeeding forms, and, based on the distribution, a conjugated form was chosen as an entry. In Japanese, verbs and adjectives belong to the same syntactic category and adjectives change their forms as verbs do. Thus the same procedure was repeated concerning adjectives, and patterns and paradigms of adjective inflection were found. 8. Dialect materials in the Estonian etymological dictionaryIris Metsmägi, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: Estonian Etymological Dictionary being compiled at the Institute of the Estonian Language. A limited number of dialect words will be included in the headword list of the dictionary. Dialect data may be vital for etymologization as well. In the case of genuine words and older loanwords, the archaic phonological traits that have survived in dialects are essential; in the case of more recent loanwords, the dialectal variants show different degrees of adaptation. Sometimes the areal distribution of a word may prove a valuable cue to its original background. Etymologization may also be based on the dialectal meaning of a word. A specific group consists of dialect words adopted into standard usage in a different sense as technical terms.
