1. The impact of plug-in hybrid vehicles in low-voltage distribution systems using a Monte Carlo simulationEvica Smilkoska, Vasko Zdraveski, Jovica Vuletić, Jordančo Angelov, Mirko Todorovski, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The growing presence and randomness of renewable-based Distributed Generation, such as solar, photovoltaic, and wind power, and heavy Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle loads in residential distribution grids result in both a higher degree of imbalance and a wide range of voltage fluctuations. When increasing the number of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles that are simultaneously charged, the additional unpredicted load may cause several problems to the current grid in terms of voltage deviations, thermal overloads, power losses, increased aging of transformers and lines, decreased quality of supply, and power outages. This paper proposes an approach that models Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles’ behaviour and performs power flow analysis on CIGRE low voltage benchmark grid to investigate the impact on the current distribution grid. 2. Attitudes towards Euro-English in a European Union institutionTina Balič, 2016, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This study deals with the attitudinal aspect of Euro-English, denoting a specific form of the English language that is frequently used within the institutions of the European Union. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 285 representatives who work for one of these institutions in Brussels. The respondents were asked to rate several deviations from Standard English, identified in a corpus-based analysis of EU texts, as either "acceptable" or "unacceptable" English usage. The findings reveal that the high acceptability rates of the proposed features among the non-native English-speaking respondents were mainly related to their proficiency in English and/or mother tongue interference. Moreover, since native speakers of English also accepted most of the proposed deviations, it follows that the participants did not seem to be aware of non-standardness in the test sentences. Euro-English must be regarded as EU jargon due to its technical, administrative or legal nature and not as a separate non-standard form of English for EU institutional settings. 3. Improper communication conditions deviations in behaviourMajda Pšunder, Antonija Milivojević Krajnčič, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The purpose of the research is to study the way the adolescents communicate with their parents as these relations are frequently connected to different forms of improper behaviour. Communication or dialogue between a growing-up adolescent and the parents are often made difficult, most frequently the improper way of communication (absence, deficiency) between the adolescent and the parents is shown in his/her behaviour. The research is based on the conviction, pointed out by numerous experts, that the adolescent's extreme behaviour (experimenting with illegal substances, alcohol consumption, expressing aggression...) often depends on flexibility of family relations and preparedness of the parents to have a dialogue with the adolescents. During the period of adolescence the communication with the parents becomes more and more selective, which means that the adolescent does not share certain information to the parents. They do not share some things, for instance, they rather speak about sexuality with their peers (Puklek Levpušček, 2001; Zupančič and Svetina, 1995-2002). Yet the way of communication with which conflicts are solved represents one of the most important and crucial moments in development of relationships between adolescents and the parents. In the empirical part of the research we primarily wanted to study how often certain forms of problematic behaviour appear at school in adolescents (younger and older) in early phase of adolescence. Our primary goal of the research was to find out whether there is a connection between the adolescent's improper communication with the parents and his/her problematic behaviour, as improper behaviour at school cannot be treated separately from the primary environment. In this research, we used descriptive and causal non-experimental method of empirical pedagogical research. The used measurement instruments include two non-standardized questionnaires: The frequency of problematic forms of behaviour at school, and Improper communication between the adolescents and the parents. The research was performed in the school year 2008/2009 and was based on the sample of 289 of 7th graders of the primary school and the 1st graders of a secondary school in Maribor community. 4. A test of Self-Control Theory across different socioeconomic strataAlexander T. Vazsonyi, Rudi Klanjšek, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The current investigation examined the relationships between family processes, self-control, and adolescent deviance in a sample of N = 3,764 Swiss male and female youth pursuing an apprenticeship (lower SES) or attending a Gymnasium/teacher's college (higher SES). Participants completed a questionnaire that included measures of family processes, self-control, and deviant behaviors. Results indicated that self-control predicted adolescent deviance in both groups, and that direct and indirect effects existed in the relationships between family processes, self-control, and deviance. Findings provided evidence of comparatively few differences in the observed associations by SES, though the magnitude of the positive effect by low self-control on deviance was more modest in male apprentices as compared to non-apprentices. Findings are discussed in terms of the implications for Self-Control Theory.
