Engineering education: environmental and chemical engineering or technology curricula - a European perspective
Peter Glavič, Rebeka Kovačič Lukman, Rodrigo Lozano, 2009, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Over recent years, universities have been incorporating sustainable development (SD) into their systems, including their curricula. This article analyses the incorporation of SD into the curricula of chemical and environmental engineering or technology bachelor degrees at universities in the European Union (EU) and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) states. Available textbooks of some courses were analysed regarding their content and pedagogical-didactical perspectives based on a revised Bloom's taxonomy of cognitive domains. The research showed that both the universities and textbooks reviewed have room for improvement regarding SD incorporation into their curricula.

InpPro training environment and model based working in construction
Nenad Čuš Babič, Danijel Rebolj, Thomas Olofsson, Sebastian Schumacher, 2009, objavljeni znanstveni prispevek na konferenci

Opis: InPro project is European initiative which is developing a model based and collaborative way of working in early design phase in construction. To support project goals and facilitate the industrial transformation and industrial technology take-up, the project implemented tools and developed curricula and materials for training and education of management, architects, engineers, and construction workers, as well as university students. The paper presents training environment architecture with BIM laboratory that was developed to support training on model based work practices and enhancement of hands-on skills. Development process, technical solutions and experiences are described. Content of training courses and curricula is based on experiences from live project demonstrations and use cases. The paper presents one of the answers that address the problem of insufficient skills in construction industry that prevent adoption of novel methods of working and technology.

A hidden curriculum in kindergartens and empathy of preschool teachers
Jurka Lepičnik-Vodopivec, 2007, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The present article illustrates the problem of a hidden curriculum in kindergartens. It is presented as an important part of the overt curriculum. The empathy of kindergarten teachers is shown within the scope of a hidden curriculum. The second part discusses the results of the research on empathy of preschool teachers as an important element of the hidden curriculum in kindergartens. Four dimensions of empathy were identified: social self-confi dence, calmness, sensitivity and non-conformism. Each of these dimensions contributes on its own and together with the others to a better understanding of empathy of kindergarten teachers, which undoubtedly influences and encourages the development of emphatic communication among preschool teachers, children and parents.

Foreign Languages in Tourism
Petra Mikulčić, 2019, magistrsko delo

Opis: The aim of this master’s thesis was to examine in what way the foreign language curricula of the higher education institutions for tourism meet the needs of the tourism industry in Croatia. The research was conducted between both parties of this topic – the representatives of higher education institutions for tourism and the tourism industry representatives. The analysis of research results showed there is currently a gap between what the foreign language curricula of the higher education institutions for tourism have to provide and what the tourism industry actually needs. The research results suggested the main reasons for that gap are the absence of unique education strategy in tourism, a lack of practical work associated with tourism studies, overcrowded classrooms and insufficient learning hour rate. They also suggested possible improvements, which would make the foreign language curricula much more effective. Some of them include: the development of the unique education strategy in tourism, a more prudent choice of languages that are being taught, a limitation of enrollment quotes, an emphasised awareness of the importance of personal initiatives, the curricula with more interaction, adopting trends and successful ideas and changes in knowledge evaluation process. It is our hope this research will help in recognising the necessary changes and provide inspiration for improvements.
