1. Interdisciplinary approach in primary education : animated films as a tool for cross-cultural awarenessLoreta Huber, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The paper presents results from a study exploring the effectiveness of animated films in primary education for enhancing cross-cultural awareness. The study examined how animated films can broaden young learners’ perspectives on diverse cultural practices, values, and traditions, and identified factors that affect information processing in complex, cross-cultural contexts. Using triangulation, data were gathered and analysed from twenty primary students (ages 8-11). The study employed Tobii Pro Glasses 3 for eye-tracking, supplemented by a questionnaire to support the eye-tracking findings. Analysis revealed that integrating culture-specific concepts from animated films can effectively enhance cross-cultural awareness in interdisciplinary education. 2. Gamified learning for sustainability : an innovative approach to enhance hydrogen literacy and environmental awareness through simulation-based educationUroš Kramar, Matjaž Knez, 2025, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The transition to sustainable energy systems presents a critical challenge for the 21st century, necessitating both technological advancements and transformative educational strategies to foster awareness and knowledge. Hydrogen technologies are pivotal for decarbonization, yet public understanding and acceptance remain limited. This study introduces and evaluates a novel gamified educational framework, uniquely integrating simulationbased learning, collaborative problem-solving, and adaptive instructional scaffolding to enhance hydrogen literacy and sustainability awareness. Unlike traditional pedagogical approaches, this method actively engages learners in real-world decision-making scenarios, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications. This study involved adolescents aged 13–15 from two distinct educational and cultural contexts, one in Europe and one in the Middle East. A pre–post study design assessed knowledge acquisition, gamification engagement, and environmental awareness shifts. Findings reveal statistically significant improvements in technical knowledge and strong positive perceptions of gamified learning as an effective sustainability education tool across both cultural groups (Europe and the Middle East). Variations in engagement across cultural contexts suggest the need for adaptive, context-sensitive educational frameworks. While the findings indicate significant short-term knowledge gains, this study does not assess long-term knowledge retention, which remains an important area for future research. This research contributes to sustainability education by demonstrating how strategically designed gamification can foster behavioral engagement, enhance environmental literacy, and support the global energy transition agenda. This study offers a pioneering perspective on integrating interactive learning methodologies to cultivate sustainability competencies among younger generations. 3. Differences in subject-specific competences between Slovenian and Italian physical education teachersMarjeta Kovač, Bojan Leskošek, Gregor Jurak, Miha Marinšek, Miloš Tul, 2021, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This cross-sectional study was designed to analyse the differences between the subject-specific competences of Slovenian and Italian physical education (PE) teachers. The participants, 669 Slovenian and 484 Italian PE teachers, evaluated their professional competences with a self-administered questionnaire on a four-level Likert scale. A t-test for independent samples indicates differences in the self-evaluations of the majority of subject-specific competences between both groups. However, in almost all items, Slovenian PE teachers evaluate their competences higher. A multivariate analysis of variance, used to identify the role of some socio-demographic factors (state, gender, years of service), shows that the state has the highest impact on the differences between self-efficiency of both groups (p<0.001, Eta2=0.531). The greatest differences (Cohen's d > 0.8) are observed on those competences that relate to some of the narrower aspects of PE didactics. The reasons for the perceived differences can be found in some historical and social events, length of education, the different orientation of PE teacher education programmes, and the different responses of both countries to educational policies. The present study outcomes may aid in updating initial PE teacher training and designing a creative system of continuous professional development. 4. Strategy of cross curricular connection at technology education as a factor of modern schoolAmand Papotnik, 2009, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: This contribution deals with the topic of inter-subject planning and connecting in technique and technology and as a factor of modern school by emphasizing the strategies of training-educational work in technique and technology. In this context the most suitable project task is being regarded as that strategy of training-educational work, in which the development of divergent thinking, creative compatibilities, acquiring, deepening, practicing and using the knowledge in the field of technique, technology, work organization, economics, ergonomics, ecology, informatics and computer science, industrial design, etc. is concerned. In such a constructed strategy the inter-subject planning and connecting can be represented and the tendency to acquire better knowledge can also be realized, because of the opinion of the constructivists who think that knowledge in its final form can neither be "given " to somebody else, nor it can be "accepted" by somebody else, but it should be rebuilt by everybody with his/her own mental activity and exactly in technique and technology the objective and subjective conditions for such a style and didactic system of training - educational work are being created. 5. A system dynamics model for improving primary education enrollment in a developing countryChandra Sekhar Pedamallu, Linet Ozdamar, LS Ganesh, Gerhard-Wilhelm Weber, Erik Kropat, 2010, izvirni znanstveni članek Opis: The system dynamics approach is a holistic way of solving problems in real-time scenarios. This is a powerful methodology and computer simulation modeling technique for framing, analyzing, and discussing complex issues and problems. System dynamics modeling is often the background of a systemic thinking approach and has become a management and organizational development paradigm. This paper proposes a system dynamics approach for studying the importance of infrastructure facilities on the quality of primary education system in a developing nation. The model is built using the Cross Impact Analysis (CIA) method of relating entities and attributes relevant to the primary education system in any given community. The CIA model enables us to predict the effects of infrastructural facilities on the community's access of primary education. This may support policy makers to take more effective actions in campaigns that attempt to improve literacy.
