Effects of renewal investments in immovable cultural heritage on Slovenian public finances : convergence with selected EU countries
Borut Vojinović, France Križanič, Vasja Kolšek, 2020, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In our paper we provide a measure of the optimal state incentive needed for the purpose of regular investment in maintaining immovable cultural heritage. Slovenia annually needs 32.7 million euros of investment for the maintenance of its immovable cultural heritage, which is feasible with 16.4 million euros of state subsidies. Comparing the mechanisms of selected EU countries, we show convergence occurrences using an indirect approach. Investments in cultural heritage represent an increase in one of the components of final demand with a positive impact on the economy. This was assessed with Leontief's production function (effect via reproduction chain). Investments in the maintenance of immovable cultural heritage also have a positive impact on tourism revenue. According to the results of the input-output analysis, regular maintenance annually results in 60.9 million euros' value added with 22.4 million euros higher general government revenue. The net fiscal effect of incentives for these investments is positive for 36.5% of public funds spent.

Extended matrix norm method : applications to bimatrix games and convergence results
Burhaneddin İzgi, Murat Özkaya, Nazım Kemal Üre, Matjaž Perc, 2023, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: In this paper, we extend and apply the Matrix Norm (MN) approach to the nonzero-sum bimatrix games. We present preliminary results regarding the convergence of the MN approaches. We provide a notation for expressing nonzero-sum bimatrix games in terms of two matrix games using the idea of separation of a bimatrix game into two different matrix games. Next, we prove theorems regarding boundaries of the game value depending on only norms of the payoff matrix for each player of the nonzero-sum bimatrix game. In addition to these, we refine the boundaries of the game value for the zero/nonzero sum matrix games. Therefore, we succeed to find an improved interval for the game value, which is a crucial improvement for both nonzero and zero-sum matrix games. As a consequence, we can solve a nonzero-sum bimatrix game for each player approximately without solving any equations. Moreover, we modify the inequalities for the extrema of the strategy set for the nonzero-sum bimatrix games. Furthermore, we adapt the min-max theorem of the MN approach for the nonzero-sum bimatrix games. Finally, we consider various bimatrix game examples from the literature, including the famous battle of sexes, to demonstrate the consistency of our approaches. We also show that the repeated applications of Extended Matrix Norm (EMN) methods work well to obtain a better-estimated game value in view of the obtained convergence results.

Past, present, and intended digitalization around the world : leading, catching up, forging ahead, and falling behind
Mahsa Samsami, Thomas Schøtt, 2022, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: Businesses around the world are rapidly adopting digital technologies. Adoption, though, is not even, but it varies over time and differs from society to society, depending on resources in the ecosystem. This study addresses how past, present, and future digitalization is developing globally and, in each society, depending on its resources. A survey of businesses in 47 countries, conducted by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor in 2021, provides national-level measures of digital technology adoption before and during the pandemic and the intention for adoption in the near future. Adoption of digital technology is found to vary significantly across both time and place. Before the pandemic, adoption was concentrated in the wealthiest societies. The pandemic was an external enabler, pushing less digitalized societies to catch up, independent of national economies, thus entailing some convergence. The early pandemic has been followed by intentions to digitalize, which differ widely, entailing some divergence. Intentions are strong in some societies that are forging ahead, but they are weaker in some less-digitalized and low-income societies that may be falling behind. The findings contribute to understanding digitalization as a global phenomenon and the pandemic as an external enabler that has promoted catching up and convergence in digitalization. Still, recovery is uneven and entailing divergence, as some societies are forging ahead while others are falling behind.

The changeable political map of the upper Adriatic region : from conflict to harmony?
Milan Bufon, 2008, izvirni znanstveni članek

Opis: The paper will present a geopolitical and political geographical overview of the Upper Adriatic region as an area of contact between different cultural, social, economic and political entities, producing potential of conflicts, particularly in the period of growing nationalism and emerging nation-state formulation in this region.

KONVERGENCA TELEVIZIJE IN INTERNETA – PRIMERA RTV SLO IN ORF
Jasmin Mešič, 2015, magistrsko delo

Opis: Namen diplomske naloge je temeljita predstavitev pojmov konvergenca medijev, televizije in interneta. Prav tako je namen tega dela analiza spletnih strani in televizijskih programov RTV Slovenija in ORF. Rezultati analize nam omogočajo izdelati primerjalno analizo dveh znanih javnih servisov.
